Gods Golden Arches

By Tim Curtis

One day, outside of a small town in Western Michigan, two young boys
With hungry stomachs walked up to their local hamburger joint.
They loved this place, as they could eat all the hamburgers and French fries for such a good price. The twelve year old, Michael, loved their milk shakes, and Timmy loved the hot Cherry pies.

On this hot summer afternoon the two ended up in front of the restaurant with huge smiles on their faces. Mikey, says Timmy, lets go in! Mikey, the larger more stout boy, age thirteen yells out, โ€œheck yeah!โ€
Once inside, the boys run up to the counter, and each put in their orders.
Timmy couldnโ€™t wait to sit down and munch away while Michael followed behind him, a chocolate shake with mist running down the sides of its container.

As the two boys sit down, chomping away at their meals, a man just outside of their large window sprays water onto it, as he is cleaning the buildings exterior. Just then, the sun hit the now clean glass window and out of the corner of Timmyโ€™s eyes appeared these two, large amber colored archโ€™s. They look at each other in suspense, and Michael laughingly blurts out, โ€œwell yeah, those archโ€™s, you know where we are!โ€ Ha ha! Timmy slowly takes his catsup covered fingers and points away behind them. Isnโ€™t that the front of the store over there Mikey? Arenโ€™t those archโ€™s supposed to be at the entry to the restaurant? Mikey slowly slides his large body across the bench seat, allowing for a new view of the front of the place. There they are, the archโ€™s, where they are supposed to be, in front of the store.
Timmy then looks out the window, the man with all his cleaning items is gone, poof! The archโ€™s he saw had all but vanished too.

On their way out of the hamburger joint the boys notice up in the sky, the very same amber archโ€™s they first saw. Tucked between two huge Surprised, the boys looked at each other and wondered if maybe it was just a rainbow, but it couldnโ€™t be, as it has not rained, retorts Timmy.
I know, claims Mickey, it was a rainbow made from the water that the man used to clean the window! But he vanished, and no water was ever put onto that window. It was just our imagination.

Could we be going nuts, asks Mikey?. No, we have just witnessed a miracle. What are you talking about?
What other archโ€™s besides a popular hamburger chain could exist?
Well, said Timmy, I was told of some big, gold archโ€™s up in heaven when I was in Sunday school the other day. Well then, how do you explain that, disappearing man outside?

Timmy smiles, looks at Mikey and says softly, โ€œThe archโ€™s in heaven are the entry into heaven, kind of like the archโ€™s that lead people into this restaurant.

So what we saw was a sign, asked Michael? Yes, I would say so, answers Timmy. Maybe God is trying to tell us to pay more attention to him these days.
Just then Michael looks up into the sky and says, could it be, just maybe that man who was there in the window one moment and then vanished was he himself? I would say, more like the keeper of the Gate.
Wow man, you are starting to freak me out! But then again, miracles do happenโ€ฆโ€ฆ..Lets go back there many more times, says Mikeyโ€ฆI kind of like knowing God is always there even in a burger joint watching over us!
