Li fè yo rive sou fwontyè peyi li te chwazi pou li a, toupre mòn li te pran ak fòs kouraj li a.

55 He drove out the nations also before them, And allotted them for an inheritance by line, And made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents.
55 Li mete lòt nasyon yo deyò pou bay pèp li a plas. Li separe tè a, li bay chak branch fanmi Izrayèl la pa yo. Li kite yo moute kay yo kote lènmi yo te rete.

56 Yet they tempted and rebelled against the Most High God, And kept not his testimonies;
56 Men, yo kenbe tèt ak Bondye ki gen tout pouvwa a. Yo t'ap wè jouk ki bò li te ye ak yo: Yo pa fè sa li te mande yo fè!

57 But turned back, and dealt treacherously like their fathers: They were turned aside like a deceitful bow.
57 Yo pa kenbe pawòl yo. Yo vire do ba li tankou zansèt yo te fè. Yo pati sou move pye, yo mal derape.

58 For they provoked him to anger with their high places, And moved him to jealousy with their graven images.
58 Yo fè l' fache paske yo bati tanp pou lòt bondye yo, yo pòte l' fè jalouzi poutèt vye zidòl yo.

59 When God heard this, he was wroth, And greatly abhorred Israel;

60 So that he forsook the tabernacle of Shiloh, The tent which he placed among men;
60 Li kite kay li te genyen Silo a, kote li t'ap viv pami moun sou latè a.

61 And delivered his strength into captivity, And his glory into the adversary's hand.
61 Li kite lènmi yo pran Bwat Kontra a, ki te garanti pouvwa li ak fòs li nan mitan yo, li kite yo pote l' ale.

62 He gave his people over also unto the sword, And was wroth with his inheritance.
62 Li te fache nèt sou pèp li a, li kite lènmi touye yo nan lagè.

63 Fire devoured their young men; And their virgins had no marriage-song.
63 Jenn gason yo mouri nan dife. Jenn fi yo pa jwenn pesonn pou marye ak yo.

64 Their priests fell by the sword; And their widows made no lamentation.
64 Tout prèt yo mouri anba kout nepe. Vèv yo pa t' kriye pou yo.

65 Then the Lord awaked as one out of sleep, Like a mighty man that shouteth by reason of wine.
65 Se lè sa a Seyè a leve, tankou si li t'ap leve nan dòmi. Li parèt tankou yon vanyan gason ki anba gwòg li.

66 And he smote his adversaries backward: He put them to a perpetual reproach.
66 Li frape lènmi yo, li fè yo kouri. Li fè yo wont pou tout tan.

67 Moreover he refused the tent of Joseph, And chose not the tribe of Ephraim,
67 Li voye pitit Jozèf yo jete, li pa t' chwazi branch fanmi Efrayim lan.

68 But chose the tribe of Judah, The mount Zion which he loved.
68 Li chwazi branch fanmi Jida a pito, ansanm ak mòn Siyon li renmen anpil lan.

69 And he built his sanctuary like the heights, Like the earth which he hath established for ever.
69 Se la li bati tanp li a ki pòtre ak kay li nan syèl la. Li fè l' solid tankou latè, pou tout tan.

70 He chose David also his servant, And took him from the sheepfolds:
70 Li te chwazi David, yon moun ki t'ap sèvi l'. Li wete l' dèyè mouton li t'ap okipe yo,

71 From following the ewes that have their young he brought him, To be the shepherd of Jacob his people, and Israel his inheritance.
71 dèyè manman mouton ki gen pitit dèyè yo, li fè l' wa sou pitit Jakòb yo. Li mete l' gadò pèp Izrayèl la.

72 So he was their shepherd according to the integrity of his heart, And guided them by the skilfulness of his hands.
72 David pran swen yo ak tout kè li. Li kondi yo avèk anpil ladrès.

Sòm 79

1 ¶ A Psalm of Asaph. O God, the nations are come into thine inheritance; Thy holy temple have they defiled; They have laid Jerusalem in heaps.
1 ¶ Se yon sòm Asaf. Bondye, moun lòt nasyon yo anvayi peyi pèp ou a! Yo antre nan kay ki apa pou ou a, yo derespekte li. Yo fè lavil Jerizalèm tounen yon pil wòch.

2 The dead bodies of thy servants have they given to be food unto the birds of the heavens, The flesh of thy saints unto the beasts of the earth.
2 Yo kite kadav moun k'ap sèvi ou yo pou zwezo nan syèl vin manje. Yo kite kadav moun k'ap viv pou ou yo pou bèt bwa vin manje.

3 Their blood have they shed like water round about Jerusalem; And there was none to bury them.
3 Yo fè san pèp ou a koule tankou dlo larivyè. San an koule tankou dlo nan tout lavil Jerizalèm. pa t' gen pesonn pou antere kadav yo!

4 We are become a reproach to our neighbors, A scoffing and derision to them that are round about us.
4 Ou fè nasyon ki bò kote nou yo ap pase nou nan betiz. Wi, yo tout ap lonje dwèt sou nou, y'ap pase nou nan rizib.

5 How long, O Jehovah? wilt thou be angry for ever? Shall thy jealousy burn like fire?
5 Seyè! jouk kilè w'ap rete fache ak nou? Gen lè se pou tout tan? Eske w'ap kite kòlè ou boule nou tankou dife?

6 ¶ Pour out thy wrath upon the nations that know thee not, And upon the kingdoms that call not upon thy name.

7 For they have devoured Jacob, And laid waste his habitation.
7 Paske, se yo menm ki fin touye pitit Jakòb yo, yo fin ravaje peyi kote yo rete a.

8 Remember not against us the iniquities of our forefathers: Let thy tender mercies speedily meet us; For we are brought very low.
Gen pitye pou nou! Prese vin ede nou, paske nou fin dekouraje nèt.

9 Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name; And deliver us, and forgive our sins, for thy name's sake.

10 Wherefore should the nations say, Where is their God? Let the avenging of the blood of thy servants which is shed Be known among the nations in our sight.
10 Poukisa moun lòt nasyon yo ap mande nou: -Kote Bondye nou an! Fè yo wè, devan je nou, jan w'ap pini moun ki te fè san sèvitè ou yo koule!

11 Let the sighing of the prisoner come before thee: According to the greatness of thy power preserve thou those that are appointed to death;
11 Koute jan prizonye yo ap plenn non! Avèk fòs ponyèt ou, delivre moun yo kondannen amò yo non.

12 And render unto our neighbors sevenfold into their bosom Their reproach, wherewith they have reproached thee, O Lord.
12 Seyè, rann moun lòt nasyon yo sèt fwa laparèy pou tout joure yo joure ou yo.

13 So we thy people and sheep of thy pasture Will give thee thanks for ever: We will show forth thy praise to all generations.
13 Lè sa a nou menm, pèp ou a, mouton ki nan savann ou yo, nou p'ap janm sispann di ou mèsi. Pitit an pitit, n'a fè lwanj ou.

Sòm 80

1 ¶ For the Chief Musician; set to Shoshannim Eduth. A Psalm of Asaph. Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, Thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; Thou that sittest above the cherubim, shine forth.

2 Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh, stir up thy might, And come to save us.
2 Fè pitit Efrayim, pitit Benjamen ansanm ak pitit Manase yo wè jan ou gen pouvwa. vin delivre nou.

3 Turn us again, O God; And cause thy face to shine, and we shall be saved.
3 Bondye, mete nou sou pye nou ankò!

4 O Jehovah God of hosts, How long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy people?
4 Seyè, Bondye ki gen tout pouvwa a, jouk kilè w'a rete fache sou pèp ou k'ap lapriyè nan pye ou?

5 Thou hast fed them with the bread of tears, And given them tears to drink in large measure.
5 Ou ba yo dlo k'ap koule sot nan je yo pou sèvi yo manje. Ou ba yo gwo gode plen dlo k'ap soti nan je yo pou yo bwè.

6 Thou makest us a strife unto our neighbors; And our enemies laugh among themselves.
6 Ou kite nasyon ki bò kote nou yo ap goumen yonn ak lòt poutèt nou. Ou kite lènmi nou yo ap pase nou nan rizib.

7 Turn us again, O God of hosts; And cause thy face to shine, and we shall be saved.

8 ¶ Thou broughtest a vine out of Egypt: Thou didst drive out the nations, and plantedst it.
8 ¶ Ou rache yon pye rezen nan peyi Lejip, ou mete anpil nasyon deyò, ou plante l' nan plas yo.

9 Thou preparedst room before it, And it took deep root, and filled the land.
9 Ou pare yon moso tè kote pou l' te grandi. Li pouse gwo rasin byen fon, branch li yo kouvri tout peyi a.

10 The mountains were covered with the shadow of it, And the boughs thereof were like cedars of God.
10 Lonbraj li te kouvri tout mòn yo, branch li yo kouvri tout gwo pye sèd yo.

11 It sent out its branches unto the sea, And its shoots unto the River.
11 Branch li yo rive jouk bò lanmè Mediterane, jouk bò larivyè Lefrat.

12 Why hast thou broken down its walls, So that all they that pass by the way do pluck it?
12 Poukisa ou lage lantouraj li yo atè konsa, kifè koulye a nenpòt moun k'ap pase vin vòlè rezen li yo?
