Romance in Mexico

Part 1
Alex

“Alex can you come and help us? We can use a hand here!”
“No!!!” Alex yelled back angrily. “I don’t want to! Can I please go with you? Why do we have to stay here with grandma?” Her mother stared at her and then to her sister. “Yes you have to stay here. You know I can’t take you with me.” “Well at least we aren’t in Memphis anymore!” said Sam, her sister. Alex and Sam were only one year apart so they were really close. “You’re right. Two and a half months here in Mexico City, what can be more fun? Wait, I know, how about Florida where at least we were going to go with our friends. We don’t know any body here! Also I don‘t even know how to speak Spanish, how am I supposed to communicate?” Grumped Alex. “Come on give Mexico a chance. You never know you might like it here! Plus you can use me as a translater. I speak Spanish fluently. ” her sister replied with pride. “You three, are you guys going to stand there for ever?” yelled grandma Sara from the door of her house. “Lets go before she throws a fit!” said their mom walking toward the door. The two girls followed her to the door. When they got in they noticed that the house was really cool. It had a bluish color of wallpaper. For a long time Alex felt comfortable in a house, as a matter of fact she felt more comfortable here than anywhere else. Her grandmother showed her to the room that she and Sam will share. Alex didn’t mind. She always had to share everything with Sam. It was not big, but also not small. It had two twin size beds ,each on a different side. They also had their own bathroom and closet. Early that morning their mother left. After lunch Alex decided to go out and explore. Sam decided to go with her. While walking they saw lots of people. One group was playing soccer and they decided to stand and watch. “They are really good!!!” said Sam. “You should play with them.” Sam offered looking at her. “No, they are too good. I can’t be compared to them.” Alex replied looking to the ground. “Your probably better!” Sam answered laughing. “What ever, let’s go back home.” Alex said turning around. All of a sudden a ball hit her on her back. “What the fu………………” Alex stopped when she saw that nobody understood her. “Senorita perdon, no te quise pegar.” said a boy running toward her. Alex looked at her sister. “Tell him that to be careful where he kicks his ball!” Sam just looked at her, then to the boy. “Now!!!!” Alex yelled at her sister. “Okay! Eya dejo,” “I speak English” he interrupted. “Will that’s just great! What the hell is your problem!” Alex yelled at the boy. “Alex let’s just go!!!” yelled Sam, pulling her away. The boy just stood there staring as they left. Even though Alex was pist off she still thought he was cute, well for a boy who hit’s a girl on her head with a soccer ball. He had light brown curly hair. He‘s eyes were a hazel color. There was silence as they walked home. The next morning there was a knock a the door. Alex answered the door, and couldn’t even believe who was there. It was the same boy who hit her in the head, but oddly he looked surprised to see her there. “Ummmmm……………” he began. “Is Grandma Sara here?” he asked politely. I just stare at him. Then all of sudden he says “I’m Daniel Rodriguez, but you can call me Danny.” He then puts out his hand, but Alex just looked at him like if he was crazy. “Alex what you………..never mind” said Sam coming outside. Danny smiled when he saw her. She smiled back. Alex burned inside but didn’t know why, he was a boy who hit her why would she feel like this toward him? “Would you like to come in?” Sam after a while asked. ‘Well….. Actually I came to see Grandma Sara” he answered looking at Alex with a sparkle in his eyes. “Well how do you know OUR grandmother?” Alex asked with an attitude. Just then their grandma appeared at the door. “Hola, Daniel. Como estas?” she asked leading him in the house. “I’m doing great thanks for asking.” he answered smiling. “I see you already met my granddaughters.” she said looking at Alex and Sam. “Well I don’t know their names.” he answered looking directly into Alex’s eyes. Then Sam jumped out of her sit and said “I’m Sam, well Samantha, but everybody calls me Sam.” After they shook hands everybody stared at Alex. ‘They must think I’m going to introduce myself to him!!! They are crazy’ Alex thought to herself. Then he got up and started to walk towards her. Then he slightly kissed her on the cheek, and whispered in her ear “Nice to met you Alexandra.” He pulled back and she said “It’s Alex.” He smiled and went back to sit in his chair. She sat next to her grandma and then saw that Sam looked like she was about to cry.

Part 2
Sam
She could feel her eyes water up. She couldn’t keep back the tears. She didn’t know why she was so jealous that Danny kissed Alex on the cheek. Then Alex got up and asked her to go with her to the kitchen to help her get some drinks. She knew Alex saw her eyes tear up. When they got to the kitchen Alex held her hand and asked her, “What’s wrong Sam?” she asked. “I don’t even know!” Sam yelled back. “He kissed you!” she yelled to her sister. “Sam,…………. I don’t even like him. Let’s make a deal, I will stay away from him and avoid him as much as I can.” Alex held out her hand as for Sam to shake it. “Better keep you promise.” Sam said shaking Alex’s hand. “I will.” Alex promised again. They headed back to the living room finding only their grandmother sitting in the chair watching soup operas on TV. “Where did he go?” Sam asked looking around. “He left. He has a home you know.” Sara answered her.

Part 3
Alex
Alex felt guilty on the inside. She knew that she probably can’t stay away from Daniel like she promised. There was something about him that made her feel special. She liked the tingle she felt when he kissed her. ‘No! Sam likes him you can’t do that to your little sister. Stop! Thinking about him’ she thought as she sat down to watch TV with her grandmother. ‘Alex!, You betrayed me! I trusted you and know look what you did to me!’ Alex jumped up and realized it was all a dream. ‘Sam won’t ever say that to me’ she thought as she laid back on her bed. The next morning Alex noticed that Sam woke up early. She went to the kitchen and found Sam eating breakfast with Daniel. “Good morning.” she said when Daniel noticed her. He smiled and said good morning back. “You know that my sister Laura wants to met you and Sam” he said to Alex. “Yeah why not. Can she speak English?” Alex asked purring some milk in her plate. “Yeah, she wants to show you where everything is.” he answered her. “Yeah I’ll go, but let me tell my grandma.” Alex went to her grandmother’s room and told her where she was going. When she got out Sam told her that she couldn’t go because she had to make sure that the food is cooked and do her laundry. It was only Alex and Daniel on the side of the road. “Daniel,” “Danny.” he interrupted. She smiled at him “Okay Danny, how did you know my name?” she asked him. “He looked at the floor and smiled. “Your grandmother told me before you arrived. I didn’t know it was you but I had the feeling I’ll know you.” he smiled at me, and I couldn’t help but to smile back. “Hey, Danny quieres jugar con nuestros?” a boy asked Daniel. “You want to play a game of soccer with us?” Danny asked Alex. “Sure why not.” Alex followed them to a field behind some homes. “Okay you are on that team, so that makes us enemies.” he said smiling. “Okay that’s fine with me.” She said putting on a sweaty, stinky, old shirt that the rest of the players on her team were wearing. She played as best as she could and in five minutes she made a goal. Her teammates hugged and carried her. She looked back at Danny, he was not smiling. He mouthed the words ‘IT’S ON!’ she laughed and kept on playing. The final score was five to zero. Her team won of course. When the game was over her teammates carried her up and cheered in her honor. Then Danny came over and grabbed her by her waist. “Your good.” He said to her. “What, you thought I couldn’t play?” Alex asked taking his water and finishing it. “Yeah!” he answered laughing. Then all of a sudden Alex tripped and he fell on top of her. He stared directly into her eyes. He came closer to her face. Then their lips touched. The kissed sizzled on her lips. It made her whole body tremble. Then she remembered her sister. She pushed him off of her and got up. “What’s wrong?” he asked her. “Nothing, just that this should of never have happened!”
