“Would you hurry up, we are late already,” Alexis yelled pacing back and forth. I don’t know why she would want to get there on time; I rather stay here where I can’t get hurt. She was to be ‘bad’ tonight so she is going to a party. Not a regular party with drinking; which isn’t even a regular party. This party is a college party and we are only seventeen, even though my birthday is in three months I still say I am seventeen. She doesn’t mind lying to get into a party, yet I despise it. I didn’t exactly know you can be ‘late’ to a party that doesn’t end till six in the morning. If I didn’t know her since I was six years old I would’ve thought she was a slut at her age, sadly it is true. Interrupting my thoughts Alexis appeared in front of the couch which I was laying on.
“Will you get dress already? I’m about to leave you here!” That was supposed to be a threat but I think that would be winning in my case.
“GOOD,” I said in a rush so she would leave. When I said that her eyes widen and she was dumbfounded.
“What’s your problem? Well I guess you’re missing out, have fun.” Then she turned around and went out the door. When she left I relaxed a bit. I tossed back against the couch and closed my eyes hoping she wouldn’t get in trouble. It’s the start of spring break I don’t need anything to ruin it. With my father dead and my mother working 24/7 I got nothing. Alexis says ‘I need to get a life’ but to be honest I don’t know how. All of the girl’s at my school talk about what great fathers they have and how much money they have, the last thing I need to do is have another person like Alexis in my life.
There’s only one thing to take my mind off all this nonsense a shower. I went into my room got my pajama’s; girl boxers and a long sleeved shirt. Quickly I took a shower forgetting everything which didn’t work out so well. Once I got out of the shower I looked at the time and cursed under my breath. It’s a little after 6 in the morning. I’ve slept that long? Wait Alexis is probably at the party, or at a totally random guy’s house. I went threw my contacts and found Alexis’s number and hit send.
“Hiiiii,” Alexis said slurring into the phone. Oh great she is drunk, I thought to myself.
“Are you at your house,” I asked rather panicky. No matter how horrible she is to me, I feel like I need to protect her, she is kind of my best friend.
“Yeesh my father wants too taaaaallk to you,” she mumbled into the receiver, and then I heard her handing over her phone.
“You didn’t go with Alexis,” her father questioned me and I replied yes, then he continued “I’m sorry that you have to get sucked into this but next time could you go with her so she doesn’t get drunk and throw up in MY BRAND NEW CAR,” he yelled the last part at Alexis.
“Sorry Mr. Thompson, I’ll go with her next time and try my best to stop her, but we both know she wouldn’t listen anyway.” I heard him sigh into the receiver at the same time I heard a scream come from outside my door. I dropped the phone and ran to my front door. Rushing outside I saw a little girl, she was all bloody and bruised, and I felt bad for her. All that bad feelings for her went away as soon as she transformed into a wolf and lunged at me. Absently I dodged it and ran into my house to pick up my phone. I began to breathe heavily and checked if Mr. Thompson hanged up, thankfully he didn't.
“I… being… attacked… help.” I gasped as the wolf knocked the phone out of my hand and clawed at me. I bit my lip trying not to scream in pain. My hand went to my arm that was now bleeding and had four long scratch marks. I dodged the wolf again somehow and ran to a corner. The wolf couldn’t seem to find me and ran out of my house threw the open front door. I leaned against the wall for support but it didn’t help any and I seemed to fall anyways. So here I was sitting in a corner holding my arm that was gushing blood when a handsome guy my age and Mr. Thompson came in. The handsome guy had his hand on his arm, he removed it to hand Mr. Thompson something and I saw he had the same claw marks as me it was also gushing blood.
“Where is she,” the handsome guy asked Mr. Thompson in a pained expression. Mr. Thompson pointed to me in the corner. The handsome rushed over to me and checked to see if I was fine, I rolled my eyes and he saw.
“I’m just going to leave before Alexis does something,” Mr. Thompson said backing out slowly, leaving me with the handsome guy. I sat there for a few minutes in-taking what just happen, after the few minutes the handsome guy wrapped his arms around me as if to check I was still there.
“Who are you,” I blurted out softly. The handsome guy laughed and it sounded like heaven to me. I smiled slightly when the pain in my arm suddenly came alive, I ignored it waiting for the handsome guy to answer but he knew that it started hurting. He pulled me up from the corner and to the couch he plopped me onto it and then disappeared. For a second I was confused but then he came back with a first aide kit. He took out alcohol and began soaking a cotton ball, my eyes widen and I move away from him. Which I soon regretted because my body missed being close to him. He scooted closer to me with the cotton ball in hand. I tried moving even farther away hoping the couch would eat me.
“Get away from me with that thing,” I said eyeing the cotton ball in horror. I never looked at alcohol the same way because of my mother and how horrible she was as a nurse.
“Why?”
“Bad experience, my mother isn’t the greatest nurse, now get it away,” I pleaded sinking farther into the couch. Very quickly he rubbed the cotton ball on my four scratches and held me down. I frowned and pouted my lip, how dare he disobey me.
“You’re not nice,” I complained feeling my scratches fizz with the alcohol cleaning it up, but I didn’t mind because he was holding me. How can I be talking like this, I don’t even know his name.
A minute passed and the handsome guy was aware of that slightly letting go of me to get the bandage to wrap around my arm. After he wrapped it he got up and started walking away. My heart broke and I watched his back carefully.
“Wait, don’t go,” I murmured and saw him spin around to look at me. He smiled and walked back over to me.
“I hoped you would say that,” he whispered in my ear.
“What’s your name,” I asked him randomly, not wanting to call him ‘the handsome guy’ anymore.
“Darren, and yours is?” I looked at him for a second he doesn’t look like a Darren.
“Addison,” I stated sitting up so that there was room for him to sit. He sat down next to me and just smiled like a creeper.
“I found her,” he stated under his breathe, thinking I didn’t hear. He was searching for me, I thought to myself wonderingly. Tiredly I yawn and place my head on Darren’s lap, closing my eyes I felt Darren pick me up a little and moved himself comfortably before placing me back on top of him. I fell asleep almost instantly.
“ADDISON,” my mother screams waking my up. I looked down and noticed I was still on top of Darren, maybe that’s why she is screaming. Getting off Darren I smile at my mother.
“Yes,” I asked tiredly with the smile not fading.
“Why were you sleeping on that handsome young man,” she asked eyeing Darren. It looked like she was peeling off his clothes, I shiver grossed out.
“Um,” I mumbled thinking of how to explain. I was about to say a giant lie when Darren talked.
“She’s my mate.” My eyes widen as well as my mothers. That explains a lot actually. My mother looks over at me with envy written in her eyes.
“Well how is that possible she isn’t a werewolf she’s a cheetah, I’m a werewolf if you want to mate me,” my mother said taking a step towards my Darren. Um.
“Darren lets go,” I whispered to him taking his hand walking away from my mother. I picked up my skateboard on the way out. Once outside slamming my skateboard on the pavement I step onto it.
