prologue

Sniffling I held onto my father’s leg for my dare life. Starring at the green and light green pattern through my blurry vision I didn’t want to let go, not yet.

“Don’t leave daddy,” I begged tugging on his pant leg. He opened the door and outside there they were, the people dressed like daddy. Shaking my head I cried into his leg. He knelled down and hugged me tightly.

“Rosie, I’ll be back soon,” he told me gently, but I knew, I knew he wouldn’t be coming back soon. Quivering my bottom lip, I shook tears racing down my light pale cheeks. He detached me from his leg and stood up before kissing my mum on the cheek, and then the worst happened the stepped out of the house and away from mum and me. I was about to run away him when the door shut in my face. Leaning my head on the door I cried, he left me.

“Rose, he didn’t leave, he’s coming back,” my mum explained softly. Shaking my head frantically I let the tears flood. Turning around I looked at my mum and hugged her leg.

“I miss him alweady Cassia,” I cried and wished he didn’t lie to me. She hugged back, it felt unnatural. Pulling away I ran into the living room and hugged the complete stranger. Even hugging her felt more comfortable and real than hugging my mummy.

“Sorry about Rose, she is just… sad about her father leaving,” my mum explained to the lady I was hugging tightly. The lady smiled in sympathy and hugged back trying to comfort me.

“It’s okay,” she cooed in my ear causing me to calm down. I nodded and smiled slightly at her.

“Cassia, is daddy going to be alwight,” I questioned my mum. She smiled and nodded but I didn’t believe her so I turned around and looked at the pretty lady. She has sandy blonde hair, ocean blue eyes, and light skin that glowed. Around her neck was a pretty necklace with a picture of a howling wolf and a feather underneath it.

“I like your necklace,” I complemented with a light voice I only use if I think I’m going to get in trouble. The lady noticed and put on a bright smile that made me feel alright again.

“You have one just like it,” she explained and pulled it out of her light blue purse. Handing it to me I studied it with big blue eyes.

“It’s mine,” I questioned astonished. She nodded and I hugged her tightly again. Why can’t she be my mum, I like her. My real mum scuffed and walked out of the living room. Tilting my head slightly I wondered if I could go home with her, I don’t have my daddy here to protect me from mum no more.

“Can I go with you, daddy left and he-he-he can’t protect me no more,” I whispered in the ladies ear. She pulled back and looked at me her glowing slightly dulled and she frowned.

“Protect you from what,” she whispered back to him and tickled my side so she could see my smile.

“Cassia and the dark, I don’t like the dark.” She eyes lightened and her thinking face came about.

“You can, I have a secret you should know,” the lady proclaimed softly then looked at the kitchen to see if my mum was looking, then continued “I’m your real mum.” My weak smile became strong and I hugged her and the howling wolf necklace. I wrapped my tiny legs around her as she stood up and she carried me out of the house to a car. It was small and only had two seats, and it was silver. She placed me in the seat to the right and I sat there. She went around the car and sat in the over side and drive off after she put the sit belt on me. Sitting on my knees I looked up over the dashboard in complete awe. My real mummy came to a stop in front of a gigantic house. It looks at least 10 times larger than my other one, I might get lost I thought to myself sadly.

“You won’t let me get lost in there would you,” I asked the lady that proclaims to be my mummy I think she is, I’m not afraid of her and I like her hugging me.

“I won’t,” she answered and took my necklace from my clenched hand and put it around my tiny neck. I nodded and felt the necklace move with my movement, the cold sliver slid and it went back went I stopped moving. She got out of the car and came around to my side and unbuckled me. I climbed out of the seat and took my mum’s soft hand. She led me up the path into the giant house. Holding her hand tightly I looked around my big blue eyes widen in awe. The floors were shiny and white while the walls were a dark grey. I heard a bunch of footsteps and squeezed my mum’s hand afraid. She squeezed back and looked down at me reassuringly. Looking down at the ground I saw feet but didn’t look up. Some of my light blonde hair fell out the long braid behind my back and fell into my face.

“This is my daughter, Rosalie,” my mum introduced me causing me to look up with a weak smile. Thinking back to my daddy I had doubts about him, is he really my daddy? I leaned closer to my right into my mum causing some of the ladies to smile.

“She’s so cute,” one of them exclaimed and I scowled. Cute? Like a bunny rabbit, no I’m pretty like my mum.

“I’m not cute, cute is for bunny rabbits and kitty cats, I’m neither,” I retorted half sad half mad, just like my thought I continued, “I’m pretty like my mummy.” One of the little boy’s in the front smirked while some of the others laughed. The girls giggled and the adults looked dumbfounded.

“Isabelle, she is defiantly a keeper, she’s alpha isn’t she like her father,” a male adult questioned my mum nodded then scanned the room.

“Of course she is, it’s not like it could skip a generation, where is her father anyways,” my mum answered then became skeptical. She stopped looking around and her eyes landing on a guy in a white shirt and black pants. He has blue sapphire eyes like me and light blonde hair as I do, come to think of it he looks like a male, older, version of me. My head tilted slightly and I had an urge to go and hug him, more than I ever had to hug my daddy. Maybe, he is my real daddy like the lady is my real mum. My mummy led me over to the man and smiled. I looked up at him in admiration, he looks powerful and like a superhero.

“I like you,” I stated and smiled showing my baby teeth, after I said that I hugged his leg. A melodious laugh echoed the room and he placed his big hand on my head.

“I like you too Rosalie,” he said back causing me to only smile even more. I was still holding onto my mum’s hand I unattached myself from my father’s leg. Looking over to the crowd of people I wondered who they were.

“What are your names,” I questioned starring at all of them.

“I’m Melissa,” a girl stated with a snobby attitude first I shrugged it off being the nice 5 year old I am, but then she rolled her eyes and made me hate her. Everyone groaned at her behavior so I figured it wasn’t a first. Melissa looked about 7 grey eyes, sandy blonde hair and sun kissed skin. The girl next to her simply scooted over away from her.

“I’m Natalie,” the girl that moved stated sweetly, her chocolate brown hair drooping down into her light hazel brown eyes. Her light skin had that soft glow just as my mother did.

“Blake,” an 8 year old boy stated looked annoyed, I laughed shaking my head some more loose strains fell out and I ignored them. Blake looked like and sounded like Melissa’s twin, the only thing different were their ages.

“I’m Aero,” an 5 year old boy like me stated, he has light blonde hair and vibrant green eyes, lightly tanned skin and two dimples when he smiled. His voice was sweet and melodic I could tell he was faking it. Again I laughed but because I could see the pain of being nice in his vibrant green eyes.

“I’m Mr. Baron,” a male adult with the same features of Aero said and his wife, I believe elbowed him.

“I’m Mrs. Baron,” she introduced herself also, but she has muddy brown eyes and sandy blonde hair. I smiled at them and waited for the rest to introduce themselves. Mr. and Mrs. Gomez have a son named Henry, Mr. Gomez and Henry both had black hair and Mrs. Gomez and Henry had both hazel green eyes. Mr. and Mrs. Keener have a daughter named Mackayla, they all have red hair that was almost orange and a shade of brown eyes. Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas have twins; a girl named Dominique and a son named Dominic, the twins both have dark brown hair and light green eyes while Mr. Nicholas has grey eyes and light brown hair and Mrs. Nicholas has green eyes and Black hair. After everyone was introduced the adults went into a room and the kids ran into the living room. Aero the boy my age came over to me with Natalie and Mackayla, they all took some part of me and dragged me into the living room.

chapter one.

The alarm blazed and I groaned keeping my eyes shut, slapping the snooze button it hurt my hand and I groaned even louder. I always do that, I thought to myself miserably. I heard my door open I but I failed to open my eyes and see who it was. Someone jumped on my bed and shook me. I groaned ready to punch whoever it was. Peeking one eye opened Blake had wide eyes and was starring insanely at me while shaking me.

“Someone’s up early,” I grumbled and pushed him off my bed. Slipping out of my bed I wondered why he was even up, he graduated two years ago.

“I had to make sure you got up,” he exclaimed loudly and I groaned and heard grumbling. Aero walked into my
