I stared at myself blankly in the mirror. I shook my head at what I saw. Some people say I have grown up to be a "beautiful woman". Although all I see is a withering, foul soul. And I quickly wiped the tear that I hoped there wouldn't be more of.
I quickly gatherd my clothes and got into the shower. I let my skin drown in the hot water. As I lathered my body, my hand passed over the large scar on my torso. Then the all-to-familiar pain comes back.
*4 years before.*
I looked over at my mother, tears streaming down my face. "Mom.." I whispered. Where and why had they taken us? One minute we were in our car, the next they had a gun to my head as they shoved us into the back-seat of a old van. "Mom...please." I whispered once more. "I SAID SHUT UP!" a loud voice yelled. He raised his fist, and hit me in my chest, causing me to not be able to speak for the rest of the drive. They blindfold our eyes.
After a while, they take off my blindfold, and I see my mother sitting right across from me, her eyes red and puffy from crying, her hair ruffled from being dragged, her mouth taped shut, wrists bloody from the plastic that binded them. I try to move. Although, both my hands and feet are tied together. I look at her, desperate for any sign of hope. All she does is cry, and I do the same.
After about 15 minutes, a large door in the far corner of the room slowly opened. We both twist our head to look.
A grotesque man walks through the door. I take all of him in with my eyes. He was about 6ft tall, with arms that seemed to big for his body, a large, square shaped face. His eye had a scar through it, he had what looked like a burned nose, and thin, dry lips.
He slowly made his way toward my mother, as I silently screamed over and over. Suddenly, he fiercely slapped my mother across her mouth, leaving a red welt right under her bottom lip. "Let us go." she demanded with a stern look. "For what? So that you can go to the police?" the man replied. He let out a chuckle. "Fine. Let my daughter go, and you can do whatever you want with me, just let her go." she pleaded. I was trying to yell, to fight, to make him stop. They could hear me screaming through the tape, I realised. The man nodded to something behind me and suddenly I felt large, cold hands around my throat. "STOP!!! LEAVE HER ALONE!! YOU BASTARD, LET HER GO!!" I could hear screaming, and then everything went black.
When I woke up, I was dizzy, and everything was faint. I was on the floor. A pool of blood around me. I look down and see a large slice, about the size of a ruler, across my torso. I looked to my left, and saw my mother lying naked, in a heap of her blood, her eyes open.
Awkward.
As I walked to school, I
