"Achoo!", Alverdine sneezes, a sneeze so loud it startles Jerry. "Oh, I'm sorry. Poor Jerry." Alverdine pets the small, white dog with a mitten covered hand. It was winter in Denmark and Alverdine had come from a different part of Scandinavia to reunite herself with her brother, Fred. He needed someone to keep him company now since Brett, his old roommate had left on a business trip that would take a year. Alverdine was happy to live with her brother, but it required to come during winter only to leave again in the coldest months.
Now, Alverdine wasn't against the cold, she is Finnish after all. She just hates getting sick, which evidently, had already happened. "I heard rumors about Denmark... If you can't pay your hospital bill... it's your fault.." Alverdine trembled in fear. She was truly, insecure about living in such a place. Everything was a bit different than Finland. Plus, Alverdine didn't even have a job. She sighed, not noticing the white-haired, gentleman walking up to her.
He smiled, a bit and opened his mouth to speak only to see the girl hug her dog and pout. That only served to make him eager to speak with her.
"Hello," the male greeted Alverdine with the utmost sweetness in his voice. Alverdine looked up and smiled herself,"H-hi!"
"Why is such a pretty girl sitting outside without her boyfriend, huh?" the man made his move, quickly.
"Aren't you the brave one? I'm not pretty and I'm single." She smiled, hugging Jerry with a much greater force.
"Well, have you ever heard the saying,'tomorrow, we die'?" He chuckled, lightly.
"Impressive. I'm Alverdine Fruleinstein, you?" She smiled, wider at his response.
"Eirikur Steil." He smirked.
"Where are you from? I'm from Finland." She giggled, happy to engage him in conversation.
"Iceland." He coined.
"Sister, who's your friend?" Fred smirked, an embarrassing plan was getting the best of him.
"Eirikur Steil." Alverdine answered, coldly. She knew her brother a little, too well to trust him.
