Chapter One

“Hey old man, what’s up?” I walked towards my father who was watching his favourite show – which is football.

My old man looked up and a wide grin plastered in his handsome yet a little bit older features. “Oh, hey sweetcheeks,” he patted the empty space next to him and I sat my round butt down and shifted to get comfortable. “Hmmm…let’s see.” My old man rubs his imaginary beard and pretending to think. “I was sitting my ass down in this boring couch for almost 2 hours and got bored, so I flipped the remote and watch football.” He pause and I chuckle, “Oh, and I am hungry as a wallaby and I need ice cream to lighten my mood. Do you have money?”

I laugh at my father’s childishness. I patted my dad’s shoulder and grab the remote, “Sure thing, old man.” I stood up and started to walk in the entrance door when my father shouted at me.

“Hey, why did you turn the tele off? I am watching football, ya’ know.”

I turned around and raised my perfect brow at him. “Did you seriously just ask me that?” My brow went up higher if that is possible, still looking at my father’s confusing expression whilst his head was tilting at the side. He looked at me like I was some crazy chick who has 3 heads.

Not a minute longer, a bulb light ticks in my dad’s head and I was taken aback at my dad’s grin. I swear he looked like a creepy giant whale grinning at me like there’s no tomorrow. My old man stood up off the couch like a lightning and tackles me to the marbled floor.

“Yay, thank you sweetcheeks, thank you, thank you, thank you. I love you so much.” I was laughing like a crazy maniac because of my dad’s behaviour. Dad wouldn’t stop kissing me in the cheek – an old habit in our family when I was still a toddler, it’s a sign of love and care and appreciation to someone you love. I know it’s kinda weird, but ehh our family is weird so it doesn’t matter.

I felt a sticky and wet in my cheek and I slowly push my dad off of me. “Ok dad, that’s enough. Your saliva is sticking on my cheeks. Eeeww…” I cringed and wipe off the disgusting saliva.

My dad grins at me apologetically and we stood up in our feet and head towards the entrance door. Dad grabs the door knob and opens the door a little bit wider.

“After you ma’ lady” dad do some mock bowed and I laugh again and bowed back to him.

“Thank you, senior.” I mocked in a fake Spanish accent. Damn, I’m really good in that accent.

Dad and I were laughing towards my Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 car when I spotted my mother walking towards the parking lot with my beautiful daughter KC.

“Where are you two going?” My mum asked arching a brow towards dad.

“Oh, we’re just you know…chilling around. You know, father and daughter bonding time.” My dad said looking in the other way trying to avoid mums questioning look.

I chuckled at my dad’s nervous behaviour. I know dad isn’t allowed to eat ice cream because of his diabetes and I know if I’ll tell mum about it she would be cranky – not just to dad but of course to me as well because, well, I let him eat ice cream. Heck, I wouldn’t risk that, let alone my mother. But I felt sorry for dad. I know he was craving for ice cream ages ago and my dragon mother is just stubborn and well, a dragon. But one ice cream cone wouldn’t hurt, right?

My mum’s brow rose higher – which was I inherited from her when she get suspicion. I could feel dad’s heartbeat getting faster – if that was possible – and he started to take a step back and trying to hide behind me.

So as a good daughter, I sighed and step forward ready to discuss for our plan. “We’re going to ice cream parlour to cool down a bit, because the weather is quite hot, really. Would you like to come with us? It’s my treat. Please don’t get mad that I bring dad with me.” I offered and put a nervous puppy look on my face, crossing my fingers together, hoping that she’s in a good mood.

Mum’s face was unreadable. She looked at me and looked at my back – where my dad was hiding – and looked back at me. And then a miracle that sent from heaven showered upon us. A big smile flashed across my beautiful mother’s feature and nodded in agreement. “Of course, sweetie, why would you think that I get mad?”

My old man started to remove me as his shield and walk in front of me. “So, you’re not mad if I eat an ice cream” dad asked mum and a hopeful look planted on his face.

My mother smiled and hugged dad. “Of course dear, as long as you only eat one cone.” And then her stern voice was back. Phew, that’s a relief. At least she accepted my offer and didn’t lose her dragon power. God knows, what would happen, good god.

I picked up KC from the ground and kiss her chubby cheek. “Hello pumpkin how’s your dance school? Anything interesting happened?” I asked my daughter while I tugged a loose curly hair behind her ear.

KC giggled showing her cute little dimples – similar as mine – and planted a kiss in my cheek. “It’s alright mummy, we didn’t do much. Our teacher said that we have an upcoming dance even for the next month in the first week. And the division were looking for the best ballet dancer in our school.” The way KC announced it, her ocean-blue eyes twinkle with excitement.

She really looks like me. Her chestnut with blonde streaks hair stoped in the middle of her small back, her friendly ocean-blue eyes match perfectly with her heart-shaped face and flawless skin. Straight nose and cute little dimples on her chubby cheeks, the only thing that separates us to become an identical twin and not a mother and daughter type of thing is our height – of course because she is still a child, while me, well, I’m 18. Yea, I know it’s a long story – and our hair colour, mine has pure blonde.

You see since I was a child, I really love children and I wanted to have one. But of course I’m still a child itself and I don’t want to get pregnant with a guy in my involved. Then, I heard about the donor sperm cell and I read in the newspaper about getting pregnant without a partner so I decided to grab the bait and well my family were happy for me. I was 15 years old that time and that’s why KC was born.

“Well, that is good pumpkin. I’ll make sure to attend in that day.” I smiled kiss her forehead.

“Really? Thank you mummy!” KC squealed excitedly and I laugh at her cuteness.

I looked behind me and saw mum and dad smiling at me and KC. I smiled back and ushered them to my car.

“Are you ready?” I asked them when we entered my car and started the engine. They all nodded and KC – and of course dad – were so excited and started shouting ice cream. I swear, sometimes my dad act like a kid.

I mentally face palm but laugh of their behaviour and started driving towards the gate. I spotted Mr Roberts and nodded. He greeted us and started motioning to the guards to open the gate. But before the guards open the gate wider someone shouted my name and I’m pretty sure I know whose voice belong that gay-ish but ear piercing annoying voice, my idiot brother Daisy.

“Hey big sissy, how’s you goin’?” Daisy asked grinning like an idiot. Oh, I know that face very well.

I looked up at him and raise an eyebrow. “What do you want?” I asked suspiciously.

He raised his hand in mock surrender. “Gee, do you really need to ask me what I want every time I asked you how my beautiful sister is?” wow! Another compliment that makes me more suspicious, “I was just doing my job as an older brother, you know.”

My brow rose higher and I’m pretty sure he was trying his very best to look convincing but I’m a good detector and according to my judgement he was failing miserably.

I laugh at his attempt, “Wow! You really never learn didn’t you? Nice try buddy, next time do some stupid crazy dance like Marcus to convince me okay?” I patted his back and he smiled sheepishly.

“Hey, I heard that.” Marcus just popped out from nowhere joined our conversation. “And for your info Miss Starry-starry sky, my dance moves are better than yours.”

I rolled my eyes and muttered whatever then looked back to Daisy. “Now, what do you want, old man?” I tilted my head to the side.

Daisy shifted his weight to his right foot while holding the ball to his side. “Nothing, I just want to ask where you guys going.” He shrugged and looked towards where mum and dad sat behind me.

My dad and KC said simultaneously, “Ice cream.” that’s the only word to say to make everyone go crazy.

“Really? Can I come?” Daisy and Marcus asked excitedly at the same time.

They looked at each other and I chuckled at their priceless expression. Then, the two idiots bump fist and muttered ‘awesome’ at the same time. They looked back at me and I sighed. I know I don’t have a choice and I’m not a selfish kind of girl so I nodded.

They jump up and down like a little kid and started kissing me in cheek. I groan inwardly and pushed their faces. “Get off of me, you stinky paws and bring Allen with you. Meet us in Patty’s Sweet and I’ll pay for the ice cream.”

I haven’t done talking yet but they already took off and jump in their cars with Allen and followed behind us. I shook my head while smiling. My family is really crazy and weird but I love them.

Chapter Two

We arrived in the ice cream parlour at exactly 10 minutes and man, the shop is full. Daisy opened the door grinning, motioning to us to enter and bowed his head in a mocking manner. When I passed by, I whack his head and quickly walked faster inside the shop whilst giggling. Marcus and Allen were suppressing a laugh and KC stifled a cute giggle.

Daisy muttered an ‘ohmmp’ and rubbed his head slowly and followed us in the counter. “You know you hit like a freaking man, right?” he glared at me and I just grin and murmured an ‘I know’, before looking back to the guy in front of us.

“Good morning lovely customers, how can I help you?” the guy who’s wearing a pink uniform with a ‘Patty’s Sweet’ print on it smiled brightly at us.
