chapter one.

As I sat at the throne next to my beloved father, the silence was broken and I heard a lot of commotion.
โ€œHeโ€™s here,โ€ one of the villagers exclaims running into the throne room. I sat there confused and puzzled. Who? I saw a figure behind the villager the footsteps were heavy emphasizing that it was a male, but whom could it be? The male came from behind the village and my eyes widen, and my heart stopped. Heโ€™s the Elven prince. I tired to stand up to greet my long lost friend the prince, but my body was working. Sitting there I starred at the Prince and he starred back. I was confused and wanted to close my eyes to think but I fear if I close my eyes he will be gone, gone like he left 3 years ago. My best friend didnโ€™t even say bye. Interrupting my thoughts my father stood from his throne and motioned me to do the same. I grabbed both of the arms of the chair and lifted myself from that. Once standing my legs felt like jelly about to collapse. Why do I feel so strongly for him heโ€™s just a boy?
โ€œCome hither Galen,โ€ my father said to me. I gave a weak smile and forced my jelly legs to move to where my father was standing. My light gown flowed smoothly in the air as if it were dancing unlike my legs which were hesitate movements. Prince Noah was in front of us and had a polite smile written on his face. He bowed at us and we bowed back.
โ€œAre those the wedding invitations,โ€ I ask hiding my hurt. He nodded handing them to us, and then turned around. I felt my heart drop as I read the names Iโ€™ve always pictured ours together. I knew I wouldnโ€™t be able to walk any longer so I sat on the floor where I was standing and placed my head in my arms crying.
โ€œGalen get off the floor,โ€ my father says from above me. I shiver and shake my head no.
โ€œPlease just let me stay here father,โ€ I pleaded lifting my head from my arms to look at him. I never call my father, father out loud, so it shocked him. He nodded and called for my best friend to come into the throne room. He left and my best friend Kaitlin came in. She rushed over to me and hugged me tightly.
โ€œWhatโ€™s wrong Gal,โ€ she asks me while releasing her embrace. I answered her by handed the invitation with shaky hands. Silently she took it and studied it she looked back to me with sympathy in her eyes. I donโ€™t want her sympathy, I thought to myself and wiped the tears. Standing up I called for my father and he came in.
โ€œFather, do I need to do anything today? I thought there was a meeting today,โ€ I ask walking towards him pulling myself together. At least Noahโ€™s happy, I thought to myself like any normal girl would even though Iโ€™m beyond normal and elf is beyond normal.
โ€œYes there is in 20 minutes Iโ€™ll send a maid to come get you,โ€ my father said strictly, but I could tell he was disappointed to see me like this. I smiled at him reassuringly, and then I walked out of the throne room into the library. Inside the library I find a book and walk to the outside of the castle. Once outside I went to the tree in the front. I sit down and lean against it. I flip through the first pages until the actual story, I start reading getting lost in the books world. In the book everyoneโ€™s human I wonder what it would be like. Would I have more freedom, would life not rely on my shoulders? Myself being a healer keeps everyone alive and without me they would die. Shaking my head away from the thoughts I continue to read. Katniss, no you canโ€™t die Peeta loves you, I thought to myself as she gets wounded in the book. Keeping myself from crying I say to myself itโ€™s just a book. I heard a faint scream come from in front of me and I close the book. Throwing the book on the ground I jump up and head to the village up ahead. Once the shops and homes were in my viewing I gasp, a villagerโ€™s home was on fire. Quickly I rush over to a men pulling out a little girl, probably the one who scream.
โ€œAre you okay,โ€ I ask the guy holding her. Ignoring his answer I lightly place my hand near her heart and pray in my head. I felt some of my energy escape me and opened my eyes. The little girl was now glowing a pale white, before she was covered in ashes and burn marks. Oh thank heavens I think to myself.
โ€œWhile are you,โ€ I ask again looking at the guy covered in ashes. He looked at me and just smiled. Huh, is all I thought.
โ€œGal, donโ€™t be such a fool of course Iโ€™m okay,โ€ Noahโ€™s voice says. I roll my eyes, of course it is Noah. Right when I was getting over him getting married he would show up in my life again, only him. I focus my attention back on the girl and Noah let her onto her feet. She wasnโ€™t quite ready for it so I quickly saved her from falling, and ended up hugging her.
โ€œAre you okay? What your name.โ€ The girl looked up at me and smiled playfully.
โ€œIโ€™m fine thanks to you, also my name is Abigail but call me Abby,โ€ she says in the cutest voice ever. I smile and my perfect white teeth show a little.
โ€œWhere you the only one in there,โ€ I ask seriously now, but still smiling. She shook her head and pointed to a woman who was crying and rushing over to us.
โ€œSheโ€™s fine,โ€ I assure her once she gets to us. I saw her sigh in relief and Abby ran into her arms. I smiled and turned around ready to go back to my book.
Once I was back at the tree I picked up my book and continued to read at the place I left off. The book was just starting to get even better when a foot kicked it from my hands making it land 2 feet again. I let out a whine and reached over to it, frantically I flip through the pages back to the one I was reading. Before I could get to the page again, a hand snatched it from me. I look up to see Noah with the book in his hands and a grin worn on his face. Rolling my eyes I stood up and looked over his shoulder at the maid coming my way.
โ€œOh look, I need to go to the meeting,โ€ I say dismissing myself while snatching the book back. I walked over to the maid and smiled handing her the book.
