โYesterday was just that. It was an interesting night, Denzel, butโฆโ
He clenched his jaw holding back tears.
โI understand.โ and he left.
I can't believe I was able to do that!
"It'll be over soon, I'll just let Reed and my sister go on their honeymoon and it'll all be over, I know."
"I hope what you dream is true." No one breaks Denzel Derricks' heart.โ
"Except the beautiful Rebecca." Reed appeared behind us.
โWhen did you arrive?โ I sounded furious.
"I'm a ghost, face it, darling." He handed me Denzel's journal. โIf I were you, I would review what my little cousin writes about his adventures with Alessia or with the other girls he fucked on those same sheets.โ
I snatched the journal from him and clutched it to my chest.
"You better stay away from her, Reed, you don't know what the people who love her are capable of." Joe muttered, challenging him with a look.
"Of course, because you're a lapdog who's still in love with His Majesty." Reed scoffed.
โYou will pay for this. You won't get away with it, Reed.โ
โEnough of the fights, come in for dinner.โ Isa appeared behind him hugging him. This couldn't be worse.
Another family dinner?
(โฆ)
"So how's college going, Joe?"ย
My mother took a sip of her wine.ย
This was amazing.
The only thing I wish right now is that Denzel Derricks was here with me.
โI have three years left.โ Joe replied as he cut his piece of chicken perfectly.ย
Oh sweet Joe, you're too perfect to be real.
โSounds interesting. Do you already have a place to stand?โ This time the one who asked the question was my sister.
This looked like a movie dinner where the psycho was sitting listening to our conversation.
โMy father has a company, they are working on a new project.โ
โWhat is it about, if it's not too much indiscretion?โ
โA more personal game.โ was the only thing he said and then continued eating.
โAnd your little sister, how are you doing in Literature?โ
"Rebecca has a great GPA," Joe assured her. โMore because Denzel Derricks has helped him study hard.โ I almost choked on my food.
โThe only thing Denzel does with her is give her a hard time.โ Reed said.
My mother opened her eyes and my sister lowered the cutlery. This was a bloody nightmare.
โIt's over.โ I answered curtly.
โIt always ends and they come back.โ My sister raised her eyebrows in disgust.
โWell, God makes them and they get together.โ Reed scoffed as he raised the glass to his mouth.
"They're both good people," Joe said, surprised. โI assure you that Rebecca is a young woman of good character, she would never do anything to hurt others. Rather, recklessness is not in his blood like it is in the rest of the people. โJoe looked at Reed. "Some hide who they really are, but Rebecca doesn't."
They all continued eating while the only noise was that of cutlery. This dinner was a bloody nightmare.
โThe good thing is that we are almost going to have something to celebrate.โ my mother rejoiced.
โIt's not the best celebration in the world, mom, don't exaggerate.โ I commented.
โYou only envy me because you have never been asked to marry.โ of course.
"That's none of your business."
โJust like my wedding, it's none of your damn business, Rebecca.โ my sister snapped.ย
I'm sure it was Reed who turned her into a jerk.
"Enough of fighting.โ My mother raised her voice. โI don't like that they're fighting all the timeโฆ Oh my gosh!โ
"You should tell your daughter to go fuck herself instead of be at this goddamn dinner." Isa stood up, tossing the dirty handkerchief and Reed followed her as she left.
"It's none of your business if I sleep with Denzel," I sobbed, Mom looking worried. โIt's none of your businessโฆโ
โMaybe you shouldn't have meddled in his business, Bec.โ Joe opined.
โThat man you're going to marry is going to hurt you, Mom. You can't let that marriage continue, Isa doesn't know what she's getting herself into. Are you going to watch as he cheats on her too?โ
โThat's enough, Rebecca, she's your sister.โ He took a sip of wine. โIsa is old enough to decide if she wants to marry him.โ
โWell, I do not agree.โ I rolled my eyes.
โWell, it's beginning to be, Rebecca.โ
