Excerpt from the book:
Siete minutos is a book about life in Latin America, when everything gets disrupted by wars and revolutions, but then a man emerges ready to conquer the world.
After his humble beginnings, Homer wants to have some money. Then he becomes very rich as the sun explodes, killing humankind and bringing apocalypse to his soul.
The book has a humoristic look on life. We see the corruption and intrigue existing in Latin American governments then and now, as Homer takes advantage of society to conquer the world.

BEARDED MAN
Our leadersโ plans will liberate us from the oppressors.
INTERMEDIARY
I had never imagined so much strength.
BEARDED MAN
Donโt forget that the fight is just starting.
Someone from the NLA itches his leg.
INTERMEDIARY
My God! Be careful, young man. You can blow yourself up.
BEARDED MAN
Donโt worry Mr. Intermediary. Drink an aguardiente.
After a sailor comes in with bottles, glasses and soda, the intermediary pours a drink for himself and Atenagoras, who is counting his money. Then he drinks it in a gulp.
INTERMEDIARY
Iโm sorry, Mr. Revolutionary but I belong to the hated rich. We canโt cope with so
much idealism.
BEARDED MAN
Atenagoras is counting your idealism.
INTERMEDIARY
We are just slaves while others are the masters.
BEARDED MAN
Itโs the exploitation of man by man.
Atenagoras stops counting the dollars.
ATENAGORAS
You mean that man exploits himself.
BEARDED MAN
Isnโt it funny?
ATENAGORAS
I donโt believe in that.
INTERMEDIARY
You count your dollars.
BEARDED MAN
Donโt you want a demonstration?
INTERMEDIARY
No, I donโt.
BEARDED MAN
It sounds good to me. We could try our system in the sea.
INTERMEDIARY
Please, Mr. Revolutionary. I canโt swim but Iโll give you your money back.
BEARDED MAN
Be calm, Mr. Intermediary. Nobodyโs going to do anything. We wouldnโt think in wasting our ammunitions after our negotiations.
INTERMEDIARY
I always knew you were noble.
He drinks three aguardientes. Atenagoras stops counting the money.
ATENAGORAS
Everything seems to be OK.
He writes in a paper and signs it. The intermediary also signs it.
INTERMEDIARY
Tomorrow youโll have your arms in the place we agreed. We always keep our
promises.
BEARDED MAN
You must keep your word.
Atenagoras gestures to the NLA members.
ATENAGORAS
What happened to the test of the bombs?
BEARDED MAN
Iโm thinking about it.
