Eva&Even

Eva was a slight child. She wore her light hair in low ponytails, and often stared off into space. Even was the opposite; his hair was dark, dark brown and it hung limply in his face. He had mad eyes, and would always glare. Eva and Even were twins, and Eva often leaned on her brother for everything. He would not dislike it either. He would always stand up for his small sister. However, one terrible night, where the rain was falling over everyone in Eva's fifth grade class like liquid rocks, Even had been pushed off of the curb. A big yellow bus had been driving fairly slow, but as the driver pressed on the brakes, he realized they would not work. The man jammed on the brake, even tried the emergency, but it would not work. Even was crushed by the bus. The last thing he saw was his sister's frightened eyes and his friend's shocked gaze.
Twelve hours and fifteen minutes later, Eva had dried her eyes. She left her room with her teddy bear in her long fingered grasp. She walked outside, oblivious to her mother's keening and her father's tear-streaked face. Eva walked -more like hiked- to her school, the rain slipping over her fair skin. She looked to her left, then over her shoulder. She felt as though someone was following her. She began to ignore it though; it did not matter. She walked five miles without stopping, even when she crossed the street. She crossed the crosswalk where her school was.
She didn't even stop when she passed where her brother was hit by the bus. She kept walking until she passed a person who was soaked by the rain. "Hello," she said softly.
"Hello..." said the person. His hair covered his eyes and he looked to the girl. "What are you doing in the rain like this? Shouldn't you be mourning over your loss?"
"No," she said simply. Then she turned to him, the head to her teddy bear ripped off. She held up a small gun with strange carvings on the side and a red ruby cross on the top.
"I am here to rid myself of those who follow me after their death." She turned and pointed it to a pale woman behind her, causing her to shriek. "No! Not you! Demon child!!" Eva cocked the gun and pulled the trigger, a blue beam of light hitting the woman's forehead. She disappeared into the gun, and the cross began to pulse with light. She turned to the person, then blinked, confused. "How did you know about my 'loss'?" she asked him slowly.
In answer, the boy ran a hand through his hair, white as snow, and showed Eva his face.
"Even..." she walked up to the boy and touched his face. Her fingers felt as if they would freeze off. "You're supposed to go to Heaven!" she looked at him through the rain, her eyes incredulous.
"I had something I needed to find out first," he murmured.
"And that is...?" sweat beaded on her forehead.
"My murderer. It was James, wasn't it?" He looked to her, smiling ruefully.
"Yes. Yes it was. I'm sorry I couldn't save you brother."
"It's okay Eva. I'm sorry I can no longer be there for you. Please forgive me." He nodded to Eva and she smiled. "It's okay, brother. I will always hold you in my memories."
And with those words, Even began to fade away, leaving the girl soaked and alone. She turned and was surprised by the floating man behind her. "What do you want?" she asked him.
"I want to know why you deceived your own brother."
"Simple. I wanted him to rest easy without having to worry about me any longer." she looked up to the sky.
"So then you killed him for that reason only?" the man frowned at her.
"Yes. I needed him to die so that he would worry less about me. even if it means that I will never see him again. So I thought that his murder would justify everything." She turned her gun to the man and shot without even blinking, a rueful smile on her face.
"Goodbye for real, Even."

The Cat Who Never Felt

Once upon a time, there was a cat named Kat. Yeah, I know what you're thinking. The heck kind of name is that for a cat? Especially for a boy. Well anyway, there was this cat. And he liked play with fire. Weird cat. Anywho, Kat was playing with a big giant forest flame. He walked into it, then burned off all of his fur. And now he can't feel anything because he also fried his nerves. The end.
