"What are the characteristics of a vampire?" Mrs. Wilson asked her literature class at Roosevelt High School in Seattle, Washington. Except for two very pretty girls there was no answer in the space. It would almost be an insult to call them pretty, in fact they were beautiful. One girl was tall, with long, smooth brown hair that flow down her back like a brilliant waterfall. Her eyes were of a strange, yet beautiful brown tone. The brown was so bright and clear, that it looked like liquid gold. Her skin had a smooth, uncontaminated by impurities, ivorylike complexion. Her seatmate was of equal rank beauty. She also had bronze eyes, but their were a touch lighter. Her blonde hair turn into long, perfect spirals that would not even the best hairstylists in the world better manage it. You could give the two no better compliment than to say that they looked perfect. "Yes, Miss Hillard?" Cried Mrs. Wilson on the dark-haired girl. "Vampires, Mrs. Wilson, are magnificent creatures sleeping in coffins and are afraid of garlic. Incidentally, they are also entirely fictitious mythical creatures, "said Ophelia Hillard with a velvety, soft voice, emphasizing the last three words so lightly, only her friend could hear it. They both had a surprisingly good hearing. Ophelia lightly touched her friend's arm and thought, "It makes me always fun going over this issue, you do not even Luci?"

Luci, whose full name was Lucille Hillard, suppressing a giggle. "And how! It's always fun to hear what people think when we start this issue."

The two looked quickly in another direction to avoid a loud laugh. Each would be delighted to hear her bell-laugh. "I'm glad to see Johnatan and Alexander shortly," Luci said to Ophelia, as Mrs. Wilson had just turned over to the table. The two were able to communicate through thoughts, but it was sometimes annoying, since they had to touch each other to listen to the other one. "Me too," said Ophelia. "We urgently need to talk to them about the Cullen's story!". Lucille played with Ophelia's ring, which is sitting on her little finger, so they had established a connection to each other. "Do you think the Volturi will be looking for us?" Luci looked a little anxiously at her friend ."Luci, sweetie, you don't have to worry about it ok? We will visit the Cullens in the next few days. The psychic - what's her name again?","Alice" "Exactly! So, according to my knowledge, they will certainly see us, or they will see us at the latest when we have dealt with the other everything. All right?" Ophelia looked at her reassuringly. She was not even one-hundred percent sure everything will go smoothly. But it was important that they were surely to their cause. Luci crossed her long fingers over the table, contemplating one of her curls. It will be all right

. She thought for herselve. I may not let me scared. They may have no power over me!

Determined, she looked in Ophelia's face and squeezed her hand.

A few seconds later the schoolbells ringed for lunch. The hallways of high school in Seattle filled. Ophelia and Luci went to their closets, where Johnatan's waiting for Luci. Every girl at the school have been in love with Johnatan Eliot. But every girl also knew that he and Lucille are together. But that was no reason for them not to continue adoring him. For the girls Johnatan was simply divine. He had dark brown hair and his eyes had this incredible shade of brown, which looks like liquid caramel. His soft, melodious yet manly voice could soothe Luci everytime. Even now he could see her concern in her face. For him, Lucille was the most beautiful girl in the world. They belonged together. Forever. "Luci?" he asked as she came closer to him with Ophelia. He felt that she had been worried again. That was so special about the Eliots and Hillards. They were all connected to each other in several ways:

Ophelia and Lucilla are needed to touch and they could hear each other. Luci and Johnatan but need only look, and they knew what the other felt. Except Johnatan, Lucille and Ophelia, there was Alexander Elliot. Like the Cullens, they were also a coven. None of the four knew who's their creator. Therefore, they're living like a family without the outset support of an older Vampire. At the beginning, the Hillards havnt know the existence of the Elliots, until the itinerant Hillards met the Elliots. Since then they are a coven, even though they don't got the same creator. "Ophelia, Alexander is already in the cafeteria. I just wanted to have a little talk with Luci here.Do you understand?" She understood. Ophelia hastened to come to the cafeteria, so Johnatan and Luci can talk in peace. "Jonathan, how likely is it that the Volturi are looking after us?" She looked into Johnatan eyes that which a little softer. He understood her concern. Of course they had heard about the incident with the Cullens in Forks. And they also heard the acting part of the Volturi at the whole thing. Previously, the Eliots havn't known how merciless the Volturi could be. Johnatan thought about the Immortal child, which was the reason for the Volturi to came to Forks. Renesmee

, he thought, she survived. She was protected. The Cullens had to be very strong if they had taken it up with the Volturi and all the witnesses. They had to help us easily.

Also Johnatan was worried, but he tried to conceal it from Lucille, even if it was not always easy. How important were their skills for the Volturi? How important were Lucille?
Luci looked anxiously at Johnatan, she knew that the Volturi want extraordinary powers. And the forces within the Eliot family were amazing. The whole family was connected with each other, but each has its own a certain property.

Johnatan wraped his arm around Luci and whispered in her ear. "Do not worry, Luci. I will never leave you. We will talk with the Cullens." He looked at her and gave her a gentle kiss. She closed her eyes and relaxed. Johnatan released, after Lucille's opinion too quickly, from her, took a step back and looked earnestly into her eyes. "Carlisle is a wise man, he will help us." He leaned forward and kissed her again, but this time more firmly, as if he wanted to give his words more expressive. Luci wrapped her arms around his neck and pressed her body against his. His hands slid down over her back as they kissed. She felt very safe with him. They broke away from each other, and Luci opened her eyes, looked passed at Johnatan to the high window behind him and saw two figures standing behind a big tree. It was a girl and a boy. The beautiful girl had short, dark hairs. Lucille looked at the other vampires. "Luce," she heard Johnatan away voice, as if he were far away. "Lucy!".
The other vampire was bigger and had short, dark hairs. Now Johnatan looked out the window too. Unlike Lucille, he knew, how the Cullens looked like, he had once seen them in a yearbook from the Forks High School, which one of his friends goes to.

He was not quite sure, but aren't that Alice and Emmett Cullen hidden behind the trees? What were they doing here? He glanced quickly back to Lucille, as he registered a feeling that radiated from her, which he had never felt from her. It was something new. Intuitively he knew that Lucille abilitys altered. He knew how it feels when Lucille sensed his feelings, but now it felt as if she would read

his thoughts. This cannot be hapen

, he cogitated.
Lucille looked at him shocked. He felt confusion emanating from her. Is this connected with Alice's appearance? Perhaps that was the final straw. Lucille looked at him thoughtfully. "What I was thinking about, Luci?" Asked Johnatan. "Um, anything with a barrel?" She looked at him uncertainly. Johnatan looked at her in disbelief and nodded. "That's correct," he confirmed. Lucille looked again out of the window. What was that?

She asked herself. Can I read someone thoughts?

Lucille tried to concentrate on their surroundings.
She heard three voices. One was Johnatan next to her and he was aware observed. "Now she can read not only my feelings but my thoughts," he thought a little nervous. Lucille suppressed a grin. She listened to the other two voices and recognized them as the ones of Ophelia and Alexander. She listened to all three at once, but she blocked Alexander and Johnatan to listen to Ophelia. "... happened. I will verify it." Lucille was clear that Ophelia had felt the change too. Now she also blank Ophelia out and focused on Alexander. "Cullen's .... Tomorrow is quite good." Of course he thought so firmly on the visit to the Cullens, so he perceived nothing surround him.
Lucille winced when she suddenly heard an unfamiliar female voice.

"I will see to it immediately if they are make problems. Finally, I want to have my fun, I hope the little vampires can not read thoughts, otherwise I can go straight to them and say: "Good day, my name is Jane and I come from the Volturi." Tormented will they be either way, but the surprise effect is always the best."

Johnatan felt a suddenly appearing naked panic coming from Lucille. "What happened?" He asked Lucille, which is even whiter than usual.
"They are here," she whispered in panic. "The Volturi."
