The Beast by Faizan Kayani
I woke up staring out of the broken crooked window as the moon and the stars laughed and howled at me. Blood was dripping from my legs from the million cuts that lay there. I attempted to stand up grabbing on to the wardrobeโ€™s top hinge. The night was like the most isolated planet in the whole universe waiting for its chance to spring to life. I limped towards the door still wandering how I entered this sick and twisted place and what had wounded me so severally.
I stepped out the door to reveal a giant room filled with cobwebs and handprints in blood. The room smelt like a thousand dead bodies waiting to be rested in their graves. The walls had blood dripping from them like a dogโ€™s tongue when waiting for a bone. Drip. Drop. Drip. Drop. There was only one window revealing the light of the moon. I looked out of it and saw the road name โ€˜Henley Roadโ€™ then suddenly BANG! Humongous footsteps came towards me. I ran to the closest room and shut the door. My phone slipped out of my pocket and I called the Police. The footsteps got louder and closer. The ground began to shake so much the phone fell out of my hand and through a hole in the floor. A womenโ€™s voice began to yell for an answer but I couldnโ€™t. I ran to the cupboard and hid myself in it.
It got closer and closer and then it burst through the door. The outline of the beast showed and large body with two giant horns on the top and one meaty tail on the bottom. It was too dark to see what it was but I could tell that it knew I was here. It moved closer to the cupboard. And closer and closer until it stood right in front of me and stared at me through the gap. I held my breath but heart began to beat faster. The Beast stood there staring at me and analysing me. The voice of the women got louder and louder however, the Beast paid no attention to it. Finally, it walked away silently out into the corridor and went away until I could no longer hear it anymore. I stepped out the cupboard cautiously making sure I made absolutely no noise what so ever. I stepped out into the corridor. No one. No thing. I walked down the corridor going past old paintings and doorโ€™s until I stopped. A painting of Emma stood on the wall. Her eyes bloodshot and her mouth open. Her neck had one giant cut through it. She had died. We came here this afternoon to find her phone which Jack threw through a window. I left her too die. It was my fault. I carried on walking as tears began to trickle down my face then I couldnโ€™t move. I froze. A hot breath touched against my throat. I turned around to see the Beast grinning down upon me. It was humongous with red scales covering its whole body. It had a tail the size of me on the bottom of it and horns the size of reindeerโ€™s. Its talons shot out of his fingers as if he had just seen its dinner and was ready to pounce on it. Its yellow slit eyes stared down on me sending a shiver down my spine. I turned away from the Beast and ran as fast as my legs would take me. Running then sprinting down the hallway in an attempt to get away. I slam through a white engraved down them slammed it behind and locking it. There wasnโ€™t much time what would I do? I paced in circles looking through everything. The desk. Nothing. The box. Nothing. The cupboard. My heart exploded inside me. Emma held up by a hanger hung there dead. My heart pounded faster as the Beast began to bang on the door harder and harder. I continued to pace then I bumped into a crate. It fell over and about thirty guns fell out of it. I had no choice. I picked up one of them and pointed towards the door. The Beast shot through the door and evilly grinned as it froze. I looked out of the window to the moon and the stars and the isolated street, counted to three in my head. One. Two. Three. BANG!...
No one ever saw me or Emma again. Some said that we left town and lived together. Others say that we died in a deserted place far way from here. But these were all just myths. Because no one knew what actually happened. No thing either. Because as the Beast sat on the floor and stared at me confused. It wondered of what actually happened. But it will never know the truth.
So beware of the beats as he waits and waits and wait for his next victim. As for me well how I wrote this book is up to you to decide but no one will ever know...
The End.
