I look up at the night sky, the moon is shining brightly, through a parting in the thick black clouds, illuminating the night. As I walk down the moon lit street on Halloween night, I can hear nothing, all of the evenings trick-or-treaters have gone home. Leaving silence behind. Tonight I was supposed to be sleeping at my friends house, but she had other plans... Well anyway now Iβm walking home. Not a very pleasant walk since I live realy far away from her house. The moon is no longer visible, the clouds covering my only source of light. There are no street lamps, sadly, there is only a faint glow were the moon should be. Now I'm walking through darkness hoping that I don't trip or crash into anything. What a nice way to celebrate Halloween! Just when I thought that the night couldn't get any worse, it did. A car is coming toward me with its lights shining in my eyes. I keep on walking since I canβt see without the lights anyway so they donβt make much of a difference. As the car comes toward me it slows down until it comes to a complete halt. I hear a door open then slam shut. I have stopped walking scared frozen. The person steppes forward, in front of the car, now I see the outline of his huge muscular body. I was practically screaming my thoughts to my legs to run but they wont respond. He's walking slowly toward me as if he knows I cant escape. He's one step away, the night brightened, a gap in the clouds has passed over the moon. The light has revealed his face. He looks about 30 maybe 35, his hair is short and sun bleached, his skin is tanned and he looks like he hasn't shaved in a few days. But his most distinct features are his eyes, they are the darkest eyes I have ever seen. Black. They hold more terror than I could ever imagine. He's reaching toward me. I look up to see the full moon directly above me for possibly the last time in my life.
