Dream One
Inside the castle walls I drempt of a larger home where my life would shimmer in the moonlight. But as I became wary that my king would not come. I chose a deep path, betraying my kingdom and my throne as I saw the dark creaping by. Now where shall I go from here? As I look through the path of the unspoken I tremble, for the thought of the loss is too much for a feeble mind to handle.
As the war continues I wonder if I will ever see my beloved king again. And hopefully my son will not be bothered in my time. But I realize there is no time to travel in the dark, and I am not strong enough to go alone. I head for my castle. Where the walls are barren, and the halls are the most unfortunate.
But as I was getting ready for sleep my servent came and told me the news I did not want to listen to.
My son had died in war. For now my son could not take over the throne. My son had died young, and I hope he had led the kindgom closer to victory. For now I was alone. I changed for bed. I wept.
I awankend to the sound of the T.V. playing in my seventeen year old boy's room. I walked like a junglecat, feircely but calmly. I felt quesy like I was about to puke, but I kept it in. As I reached the door I held the doorknob for support, and knocked.
"What?" He called.
"Are you ok?" I called back. No response. I heard his bed squeak as he got up and out of it. In a second I felt the doorknob jiggle underneath my hand. I removed the hand right when a head poped out of the opened door.
"Yea, why?" He asked.
"Because I'm your mom. I also came here to tell you to turn off the T.V. It's two in the morning." I awnsered. His bared his teeth at me. I smiled in the "Now do what I asked" sort of way.
"I'm studying for a test that's about the news ok?" He sneared. I gave him an ashamed look, but when he said "fine" I turned and walked back to my bedroom. Where my husband was sleeping safe and sound. As I got back into bed I wondered if this dream would actually come true. And the next afternoon I would know for sure.
