It was the Sunday before Valentines day as I was sitting in my favorite bar relaxing with some friends. Most of the day I was helping some people move furniture and now unwinding a bit before heading home for supper and bedtime.
I suddenly felt a soft hand on my shoulder and turned to see who it was. Standing behind me was a musician/vocalist friend named Cary. She seemed
sad when I asked her how she and Mike were doing. ( Allow me to move back to the Christmas Holidays.)
Like many people during the holidays, amidst the joy of the season, we sometimes think of friends and relatives who are not with us are have passed
away. On this particular day I was somewhat down in the dumps and only halfway listening to the music as Cary and Mike were playing their set.
I didnβt realize it was showing until the band took a break and Cary came and sat at the table by me. She then asked me what was wrong . I explained it to her and she proceeded to cheer me up from the funk I was in. She was very intuitive
and before I knew it I was back into the holiday mood.
I texted her holiday greetings and thanked her for thoughtfulness.
(Back to the present) Cary apologized for not returning my greetings. It seems that Mike and her were having differences and had separated. She was optimistic they would be together again in a couple of months.
I assured her it wouldnβt be nearly that long and she brightened up. She also let me know she was out of minutes, but she still had my holiday text on it.
Out of the blue she said βIβm going to make you a Valentine cardβ. In a flash shewas gone from the bar.
About twenty minutes later I was still sitting there talking when a hand from behind me pushed a piece of folded paper before me with a red heart on it. By the time I turned around she had already left once more.
Upon unfolding it, I discovered a beautiful hand decorated and written Card. The following are the words exactly as written.
