Preface...<3

i was staring at the sky, mind enclosed around her,
every night i laid in bed and imagined laying with
her. where i would slowly move my hand over near
her's and grasp her hand tightly...she links her
fingers with mine, and stares at me with those
baby blue eyes and smiles, a tear rolls down her
face, and at the very moment, i whisper to myself
i promise... One day she will be my wife <3

Love

“I don’t want to leave.”Cassidy whimpered.

“I don’t want you to leave either babe, but I don’t want to make your father hate me.” She leaned up and I wound my arm around her waist. “Come on baby, your dad doesn’t have enough patience.”

She nodded her head. “I know...” her smile turned into a frown and I had to stifle a laugh.

“Babe! This is not going to be the last time that you see me, how about this, from now on every sunrise we lay here together and watch it.”

She nodded her head, “”that sounds great love.”

I stood up and leaned down towards her kissing her slowly, and pulling her up off the ground grasping her hands and leading her towards my porch, “Let me go find my keys.” I whispered as I raised her chin with my thumb.

“Ok babe.” She whispered glancing down at the ground.

i felt in my pocket until i got stabbed with something sharp. "found them." i whispered quietly to myself.

i walked back over towards her. "hey babe, do you think that if we called you're dad and told him that we couldnt find my keys, that he would let you stay?"

She giggled a little and grabbed my hand. “Justin you know he would drive here and then drag me home.”

I nodded my head. “I know he would… I just don’t want you to leave babe!”

“And I don’t want to leave either, but you know my dad doesn’t have the patience.” She laughed mocking my words 5 minutes earlier.

I frowned and lunged at her, running off with her in my arms, with her squealing the whole way. “Take it back!” I joked.

She shook her head giggling and eventually forced out “no never” I set her on her feet and started walking away slowly, I could feel her smiling behind me. “I’m not taking it back!” she yelled after me gasping for air and throwing her bangs out of her eyes,

I turned around and stared her down until she felt uneasy and looked at the ground. I was beside her in less than a second whispering in her ear “take it back”

She glanced around her trying to figure out what had just happened. When she said nothing I tackled her to the ground and pinned her hands above her head. “Are we going to do what is smart and take it back? Or do I have to force it back?”

She twisted her head to the side and stuck her tongue out at me. “Well I’m definitely not taking it back.”

I leaned down and kissed her. “Take it back?” I asked with question in my voice.

She looked up at me and shook her head. “Nopers.”

I released her arms and let her get up, reaching in my pocket for the keys.

“Wait? You’re just letting it go like that? I didn’t take it back and you got up and walked away? What the hell??”

I looked at her with an amused look on my face. “Yes, if you aren’t going to take it back, I will not hold you, I will not kiss you. And starting in a few I will not talk to you.”

She bit the bottom of her lip. I knew she was about to give in. “Fine!” she yelled “I take it back!!”

I glanced at her. “Hm take what back?”

She rolled her eyes. “I don’t know, but I take it back.”

I nodded my head. “Good enough for me.” I walked towards her and brought her in for a kiss.

I pulled back and pulled out my phone. “Shit babe, we need to go.”

I could see the panic in her face but she quickly buried it “it’s ok Justin, where are the keys?” she asked reaching out for them

I reached in my pocket and brought it out empty. “Um maybe it’s the other one.” I put my hands in my pocket and felt around for the keys and again I came out empty. “Um, I am positive that I had them in my hand, and then I put them in my pocket.”

She sighed. “Did they fall out again?”

I bit my tongue and nodded my head. She ran her hands through her hair “damn...” Well we have to find them before my father comes looking for me.”

We searched through the grass and my hand came across something cold and metal. “I think I found them.” I grasped the object and brought my hand up, “Come on babe.” I yelled signaling her over towards the passengers door. I opened the door up for her and she climbed in. Once her foot was out of the way I shut it and walked over to my side. Getting in, and driving away

She reached her hand over towards mine and grabbed it tight. “Love you Justin.”

I glanced over at her and smiled. “Love you too Cassie”

I forgot what was going on around me, I didn’t remember I was driving down the highway with a bunch of cars surrounding me, or that she had minutes to get home, All I could remember was that I was sitting in my car, with my baby… the only one that I wanted, and she was the only person I could see.

I shook my head and looked back at the road, trying to regain my concentration on all the traffic.

We drove in silence for awhile; the only thing that could be heard was our hearts beating together and the purr of the engine. I pulled up to her driveway and got out to open her door. “Babe I need to talk to your father.” I shut her door once she was out of the way, and walked with her to her door. I gave her a peck on the lips before she walked inside. I stood outside for about 2 minutes before her father appeared at the door and stepped outside

“Justin, how are you?” he asked in a pleasant tone.

“I am ok, how are you Rick?”

He nodded his head “fine, fine... So Cassidy said that you wanted to talk to me?”

“That is correct.” I said shifting all my weight on my left foot.

“Ok, so go on.” He said as he pulled out a cigarette and lit it up.

“As I’m sure you know, mine and Cassie’s 3 years is coming up in three days, and I wanted to ask your permission to take her out that night.”

He looked around nervously. “Look, Justin I like you, your nice, you never have any problem getting my daughter home in time, and my daughter loves you, but if I were to let you take her out per say, Where would you guys be going?”

I stifled back a smile although I knew I was getting my answer. “I was going to take her to mountains, a fancy restraunt a couple hours from here.”

He glanced back at the door, “I’ve been there before boy, they’re food is not cheap. It costs a lot just to get a decent drink there.”

I nodded my head. “Yes, sir I know. But I’ve been saving up money that I get from my job for some time."

He pursed his lips. “And where else did you have planned for her??”

I looked up at the sky while speaking. “You know that field that we go to watch the sunset all the time, I was going to take her to dinner and then we could finish the night watching the sunset at the field together, as usual I would have her home at 12:00, I would never wish to disrespect you and your rules.”

He nodded his head. “You know Justin, your mother would be so proud of you. You turned out to be a perfect gentleman.”

“Yes sir.” I looked back at him with my hands hanging at my sides.

“Ok, Justin you may do that. And I will move her curfew up to 2:00.”

I smiled, “Thank you so much sir,”

He nodded his head again and reached his hand out and pulled me in for a hug. “I told you Justin, as long as you respect my daughter and treat her with kindness, you can call me Rick.”

I smirked. “Ok, rick. And can you do me one favor?”

Rick looked at me, “what is it?”

“Tell Cassie goodnight and I love her. She was falling asleep in the field, so I told her she should go to sleep when she got home.”

“How about this, since you have respected me more than anyone else, you can go in and tell her that yourself.”

I half smiled. “Thank you rick.”

I stood there until he wasn’t blocking the doorway anymore and walked in. “Cassie?” I knocked on her door slightly.”

“Yes Hun?”

“Is it safe to come in?”

I could almost sense her nodding her head. “Yes.”

I pushed the door open and walked on. “Whatcha doing?”

She laughed, “Taking off my make up.”

I moved close beside her and shook my head. “Cassie, I don’t know why you do all that stuff to your face, it is already so beautiful.”

She blushed slightly. “Thanks babe”

I smiled and brushed my hand on her cheek, “No problem love.” I grabbed her hand and pulled her to her bed. She lay down and I put the covers over her and kissed her goodnight. “Goodnight babe, I love you. Text me whenever.” I smiled and turned off the light as she whispered I love you too.

I emerged from her room, to see her father standing there.

“You know, you’re a good kid Justin, I’m ecstatic that Cassie was able to find someone such as yourself, are you leaving now?” he asked nicely

“Yes,” I nodded “I need to get home.

He shook his head “none sense, come on Justin come talk with me for awhile.”

I glanced around the room and then smiled.
