The drug dealers are soon hot on their trail and the three friends soon find themselves in serious trouble. Surprisingly though the novel is about drug dealers - drug use is not portrayed. . The gangland life appears very real and one that is shocking and violent and strangely often hilarious.

How was it that in a pea-souper(thick fog) he still managed to carry out his butchery when others could hardly see in those awful conditions in the dimly lit street of London?
