under it hoping that whatever that made the noise wouldn't see him. "Please don't see me. Please don't see me." Sam whispered as he looked above the desk. Sam watched a raccoon look at him and then run away as he got out and then quickly grabbed his pistol. "You sneaky bastard." Sam said before he pointed the pistol at a zombies head and then pulled the trigger. Sam relaxed as he watched the corpse fall to the ground before he quickly got up and grabbed his bag. "I better get out of here." Sam said as he seen zombies shamble to the front doors. He ran down the halls as dead bodies at up. "Shit!" Sam exclaimed as he tripped over a wire connected to defibrillators. Sam groaned and got up and kept running as zombies try to grab at him. "Missed me. Missed me. Now you gotta kiss me." Sam said before he shuttered. "Now I'll never get that imagery out of my head." Sam said before he went back up to the roof and then closed the door. Sam caught his breath before he started to run towards the edge edge. "Got to do this right." Sam said as he jumped off as more zombies ran after him.

Sam chuckled after he grabbed onto the ledge and then pulled himself onto the building. "You aren't scary." Sam said before he sat down feeling exhausted. "I am tired." Sam said as he layed down wanting to take a nap.

"I'll just take a little nap." Sam said as he closed his eyes and then started to nap. A small rock hit Sam's head, causing him to wake up and immediately sits up. "Hello? Anyone there? I'm armed." Sam said holding up a banana thinking that it was his pistol. Sam stood up and then walked around not being able to see the person.

"Um ok then. Thanks for waking me up, I guess." Sam said before he grabbed his bag. He walked to the emergency exit door and then layed his ear against the door. "Must be empty." Sam said as he couldn't hear anything for a few minutes. Sam opened the door before being hit with a foul smell. "Oh good god." Sam said as he placed his hand over his nose. Sam made his way into the hallway on the floor carrying his bag though he wanted to go quickly. "Slow and steady wins the race, Sam. Don't go too fast." Sam said to himself before he went into the offices looking for a more permanent area to put his base. "If I am gonna make this building my base. I will have to go out and try to meet people." Sam said quietly as he looked around before he took everything out of a big office. "Wait a minute. I can use this." Sam said before Sam built a fort with the stuff he found.

He chuckled as he looked around feeling proud of himself. "My very first fort. And everyone is dead. No one but me is alive to be able to enjoy this." Sam said before he curled up into a little ball. As the quietness of the building set in, Sam slowly fell asleep though his bed wasn't set up. "No. No. I can't fall asleep." Sam said before he stood up. He went and set up his bed after he locked the door and put the barricade up. "I'll do some more work on this base tomorrow." Sam said before he layed on his sleeping bag. He grunted as he got into the bag and looked up at the ceiling. "I should look for glow in the dark star stickers." Sam said as he closed his eyes. Memories of the good old days have haunted Sam throughout the night, though he barely had any bad memories. Sam sighed as he was finally fell asleep and smiled while he felt safe in the room. "Good morning, world. I'm alive." Sam said as he sat up and stretched before Sam got out of his sleeping bag. He crawled out of his fort before he felt the barrel of a gun against his head. "Uh hello?" Sam asked as he stayed on the ground. "Get up. Or if you want, I can blow your head off." A female voice said before Sam quickly got onto his feet. "Please don't blow my head off." Sam said as he kept looking down at the floor.

"What's your name?" Sam asked before the girl looked at the floor. "It's fine, if you don't want to tell me." Sam said before the girl looked at him. "I don't remember what why name is." She said before Sam looked at her shocked. Sam then shook his head and then walked to her. "I have an idea. What if until you can remember your name. I'll give you a new name?" Sam asked before the girl started to walk away. "Until I find my name, you may call me Mary." Mary said before Sam smiled. "Ok then, Mary. Here comes question number two. Why were you about to shoot me?" Sam asked before Mary looked at his set up. "Before you started talking, I thought you were one of them." May explained before she left out the door. "Oh ok. Well now that we met. What do you wanna do?" Sam asked before he noticed that Mary was gone. "Mary?" Sam asked as he looked in all the offices around him. He shrugged and then walked to his fort and looked into his bag. "Time to get this place in a more completed state." Sam said as he took out medicine and his weapons. "Hey, don't take all of your weapons out. Make sure you always have a knife and a pistol with you." Mary said before Sam looked at her with a smile on his face. "Your back." He said before Mary nodded without saying anything.

Sam got up to try to hug Mary but felt hurt when Mary took a step back. "I'm sorry. But I'm not a hugger." Mary explained before Sam smiled. "Ok, that's fine. And I wasn't planning on going out without my pistol." Sam said as he kept his machete and his pistol in his bag. Mary smiled and then turned around and looked at all of the offices. "It's sad that the world died so fast." Mary said as she looked out into the city.

"Yeah but at least we are still alive." Sam said as he stood next to her. Mary looked down as she knew that she was lying to him as she nodded. "Well I'll stay by your side through this journey of yours." Mary said while watching the sun go down. "If you need to, you can sleep in my fort." Sam said before Mary looked at Sam. "No it's fine. You get some sleep." Mary said before she watched the zombies on the ground. Sam nodded and then walked back to his fort and layed on his sleeping bag. "I have an idea." Mary quietly said to herself. She walked out of the building as Sam slept and then walked to a mattress store. "I wish I still was alive." Mary said as she looked at the zombies that she is walking past. "But if I was still alive, then I wouldn't be able to do this." She said to herself as she walked in and looked around at the remaining mattresses. "Now, what would he like?" She asked before grabbing a mattress and started walking back to the building.

No zombie minded Mary and kept looking for food and kept trying to looking for a way inside the building. Sam slept through the night though his back was starting to hurt. Mary carefully moved everything in the fort around so that Sam could still sleep without waking up. "Time to go out." Mary said to herself before she left the office. Sam wake up a few hours later and then looked around. "Oh my goodness. This is even better. But I didn't do this." Sam said before he got out of bed and then went out of his fort. "Your welcome, Sam." Mary said as she started to cook for him. "Oh you did all that? Thank you so much. I love it. Did you get the mattress too?" Sam asked before Mary nodded. Sam sat in front of Mary as a big smile formed on his face while watching her cook. "Here you go." Mary said before giving Sam his plate and then started to clean as he ate. "Thank you. Aren't you hungry?" Sam asked after eating a peice of bacon. "No. Don't worry about me." Mary said as she looked at him after putting everything away. Sam nodded before he kept eating. "That was really good. Thank you." Sam said before he got up. "What's your plan for today?" Mary asked before Sam looked outside. "Explore every building around me and bring back anything that I find." Sam said as he stood up and went and grabbed his bag.

Sam made his way down the destroyed set of stairwell. "Damn. Did a bomb go off in here?" Sam asked as he got into the lower floor. Sam shook his head and then walked to the other stairwell. "Time to go down more stair." Sam said as he sighed and then got out his machete when he heard a noise. Sam looked behind him and then took a breath of relief as he seen that no one was there. "You're just freaking yourself out. Be careful not to lose your mind." Sam said as he put his machete away. He tripped over a corpse and then curled into a little ball as he went down the stairs. He grunted as he stood up and then wiped off the dirt and rubble off of his legs.
