The convention finishes in the afternoon. There is always a huge good-bye on the closing ceremony where all the guests turn up again on stage.
(View into the auditorium and on the stage)
This time, the visitor also gets the opportunity to see how many stage hands and volunteers are needed to put such a production on stage. All helping hands get their well deserved applause for a terrific weekend.
(Many helping hands are needed for such a production)
Many people stay longer and meet at the hotel bar afterwards, talking to their new gained friends and uups - suddenly an actor is joining in for a little chat. Sometimes it is very surprising to hear how much an American actor knows about German politics!
The PressI have to and must not leave it out to mention the Press.
If you watch a report about Trekkies on television, they always look like they are crazy or nerds. Sometimes people may think they are complete loonies! Of course, you will find those nerds in our fandom as much as you find them in many other ways. And the television just LOVES these people.
So flashy! So colourful! Damned they are so crazy!
That's what sells well.
If you look behind the scenes, the trained observer notices how much work it takes. Planning, research, a lot of passion and an eye for details are needed to build a Tricorder or a Phaser, or how to transfer your living room into the bridge of the Enterprise.
(Space Ship from the Perry Rhodan-Saga)
This deserves admiration, or not?
Or maybe is it enviousness that other people behave stragely towards us?

Tolerance is important to Trekkies. In our every day life we have to cope with different kind of people being funny towards us.
If somebody points his finger at me while laughing out loud and shouting: "Hey, you are a Trekkie!"
I smile and reply: "Of course. With all of my heart.
So I bid farewell to you by quoting Mr. Spock:
>> Live long and prosper. <<
