See No Evil
Prying eyes bore holes through sepulchers, and yet they fail to scan my thoughts. I avert their gaze, running into a courtyard stained with the smell of dried roses and wet limestone. Beyond lies an antiquated temple with vaulted ceilings, their cracked gold leaf converging in traitorous angles. Under different circumstances, I would have stopped to wink at them cynically, but I need to find my vision before they do. So I grope and fumble, stumbling until Iβm assaulted by a strobe of menacing arches, and only then do I realize the truth before spiraling into a narcoleptic abyss.
Hear No Evil
Hums from hungry skeletons fill the air: a low-frequency, grumbling hysteria. Their reverberations rattle through the ground below, shaking up the bowels of the cavernous catacombs. They tremble in anticipation, releasing a deafening hiss followed by silence. Eavesdroppers cover their ears so as to better hear the cacophony of their own muffled fears. That is, until they hear the wails of their sacrificial angel, whereupon they begin to chant songs of disillusionβ¦shattering his dreams. He screams bloody murder through majestic organs; the heavens quiver at his requiem. But she only hears the chitter-chatter of the chirping choir, content and indifferent.
Speak No Evil
You tell me that itβs a question of ethics versus morals, but your argument is based upon false principles. You instruct me conceptualize the pivot point where they diverge, but I retort that youβve failed to adequately define your parameters. You wonβt accept my words, and I begin to fear that youβre endowed with a forked tongue. We both resort to erudite insults, playing a silly game of intelligence tag that lasts forever and gets us nowhere. In the end, we each feel strongly about our convictions, yet neither of us would be willing to die for them. Futility incarnate.
