Elizabeth's Song
I will wait on the Lord, yeah, I will wait, I will run and not grow weary, I walk and not faint, I will wait on the Lord...
Elizabeth song solemnly her melody repetitively. She had no other song to sing. She was waiting for her pain to subside, but this debilitating pain was relentless, so she kept on singing her song.
Theodore said, "Lizzy, why won't you just go to the doctor"?
She ignored him, she knew her healing was coming. She would believe. He will then see her miracle, and believe.
Theodore recanted, "Lizzy, why keep suffering"? "if he was going to heal you , won't he have already"? "Will it take another ten years before you enter the doors of people who care"?
Elizabeth kept singing. She knew that her miracle was on its way. She had waited ten years of no regret. She just wanted Thed to believe.
She said, " if he doesn't come, honey, then, I will just die this way, but I will wait, sing, and wait". She walked to the sink, looked out the kitchen window, there in the thickets something moved. She squinted her eyes to get a clearer view. She thought "what is that"?
Theodore walked over to the sink. He said "what are you looking at"?
She said, " I was looking at the birds nesting".
He said "Well, I will see you this evening after work, but if you need me, please call, ok"?
She pecked him on the cheek. "I will be ok, but thanks for caring".
He went out the door, heading to work.
She turned her attention back to the sight, but it was gone. She pondered what it was, but went on and start her cleaning ritual. She had to get supper ready.
Someone knocked on the door. She said, while walking to the back door, "who is it"?
she opened the door. She saw noone. She looked around the yard, nothing. She was about to shut the door, when she saw a packege on the step. She reached down, grab it, read the writing. she said "what, what kind of writing is this"?
It read...For the young lady who had been praying for ten years, drink the substance and you will be healed: you will be renewed with strenght of the eagles, your skin will be restored.
She tore the package open, She opened the cap, smelled, and looked up and drinked.
She fell down as if she had died.
She woke three hours later, she wasn't sure but she felt like she had a new body. She ran to the bathroom wall mirror, she was twenty years younger, her hair was the cold-black, her nail beds were normal, no longer black, and her eyes had life return to them. She smiled.
Theodore walked in the door. He called for her "Lizzy".
She came down the corridor, walked up to him, he had his back turned, she touched his shoulder, he turned, he was about to say something. He looked, He said " Oh my God"!
How did this happened she said, "He died, but I live"?
A voice spoke to her: "you did suppose to live- but drink was for you, not him".
