Chapter 1
I was sitting in maths class with the other students. I couldn`t be bothered listening so I just sat there, twirling my hair. Someone stood in front of me and said, "Mr.Jones, sit next to Abbey, please." I looked up as a boy walked in. He was taller than me, and had brown hair and eyes. He nodded at Mrs.Winterberry and sat down in the seat beside me. "Hello," he whispered in a soft voice. I looked up, stunned, that on his first day he was talking to me. Everyones eyes turned to us as I replied, "Hi." He smiled and I couldn`t help but gawp at him. His shoulders stiffened and I looked away, as the childrens stared right at me. Normally people would be like, 'Oh, where do you live?' and, 'Whats your name?' but I couldn`t. The way his shoulders stiffened, how he talked to me. My breathing sounded like I was hypervenilating and losing breath. I took a sip of water, and tried to make eye contact but his eyes were fixed on the board. I looked at the board and just day-dreamed. "Mrs. Lonane, please answer the question on the board," Mrs.Winterberry scowled. I looked around the board for the question, but there wasn`t one there. "Theres not one there, miss," I whispered. She nodded and replied, "Exactly - keep your eyes on the board!" As the stares died down, I tried not to look at him. After studying what seemed like 50 objects, I looked to the clock - only 2 minutes to go. She was probably going to give us a big lecture about how we should be listening. I focused on the board and Mrs.Winterberry kept glancing at me, waiting for a moment when I wasn`t. I smiled to mysef and sighed in relief that the bell went. "Abbey?" a voice whispered from behind. I picked up my water and said, "Yeah?" When I turned around, I gasped because I accidentally spilled my water all over him. "I`m so sorry! I didn`t mean that!" I shouted, taking away the bottle, putting it out of reach. "Abbey Lonane? Detention after lunch!" Mrs.Winterberry shouted to me. I looked up and nodded. She got her things together, and all of the children were waiting for a reaction off of him. "Oh, and Andy Jones? Detention, as well," Mrs.Winterberry said. He sighed but nodded. "So sorry," I said, while trying to dry his top with my cardigan. "No, thats fine. Its, great," he said, never unclenching his teeth. I nodded and picked up my water bottle, clutching it to my chest. I walked home that day, after watching him run to his Ferarri Enzo, in the pouring rain. Another girl was waiting for him, no jacket either. The cold didn`t seem to bother them. I shook my head. Strange. I walked around the corner and thats when it hit me. Something plopped into the back of my head, and I reached up, when I felt warm liquid on my hand. Feeling light-headed, I clutched my head and felt another object hit my head. I touched the object and cut my finger. Glass. "What the-" I stopped when something hit me on my elbow. I turned around and ducked as she flung another piece of glass at me. Who was it? I didn`t know who she was, but she had blond hair and gold eyes. I squinted to see as the rain put the force of the glass deeper and deeper. Andy appeared, holding his nose, guiding me to his car. "Follow me!" he hissed. I nodded and walked to his car. When I sat in, the first thing the girl in the car did was leap. I screamed as the glass cut deeper, until I was unconsious.
Chapter 2
I screamed. I tried opening my eyes, ending up crying in frustration. I felt the tears getting brushed away by a soft, cold hand. I lifted my hand and felt my head. I winced at the pain, but there was no glass. I sighed as someone whispered, "Abbey? You alright? You there?" I instantly recognised the soft voice and sighed again. "Yes,...I`m, here.Where am I?" I asked. "You`re in the hospital, Abbey. You were in a car crash and the windows cut into your head," Andy replied. What? That wasn`t what happened."That can`t be...right. I was walking home...from, school," I whispered. Andy froze and shouted, "Lizzie?! Can you come here for a minute?" Lizzie walked in and said, "Yeah?" Andy nodded to the seats and started having a conversation about something. I stuck my hands up in frustration. Were they going to tell me what was going on? I could hear some words, just small ones like, 'didn`t,' and, 'brain.' My breathing started to go crazy again and I slipped in and out of consiousness. I tried to get a hold on my breathing, but failed instantly when I looked at him. "Andy! Get out of here!" Lizzie shouted to her brother. "What?! Why?!" he replied with a frown. She whispered something in his ear and replied, 'Oh...right!" She nodded with a, "Uh, huh! Get out!" He nodded and my breathing calmed down. Lizzie sighed. I looked up at her pale, soft-looking skin with a frown. She had brown, long wavy hair, and green eyes. She breathed through her mouth, her and her brother, never through their noses. I shook my head and I started to get angry, confronting her. "What happened? I wasn`t in a car crash - you, were there, you...attacked me! What was that for?! What did I do wro-" "Shut up!" she cut me off. She stared at me with great hatred in her eyes, and that shut me up. "No offence, but I really dislike you and your auntie," she snarled. I looked at her, the confusion clear in my eyes. "Oh, you don`t know? Do you know this woman?" She said, drawing a picture out from her pocket. It was of my auntie Samantha, in the 1890`s. That couldn`t be right. "Thats my auntie, but she was born in 1980`s, not 1890`!" I said. She laughed, so loud that a nurse peeked through the open windows. When she saw everything was alright, she left, and Lizzie, frightening me a little, shut the blinds. She sat on the chair next to my bed. "Your auntie, is a witch - and so are you!" she said. I laughed quietly, and it suddenly built into a fit. "A...a...ha...wit...witch?" I asked between laughs. She nodded and replied, "And get this - Andy and I are vampires!" The serious look on her face actually, and I don`t know how, made me, believe her. "You`re not...kidding? You`re actually saying that I`m a witch, and you`s are vampires?" She shook her head and said, "You don`t look...surprised, or...frightened. You alright there?" Once she was done checking my monitor, she frowned. "Oh," she whispered. I looked up and said, "What?" I smiled but she didn`t smile back, so I dropped my smile and said, "What? Tell me!" She shook her head and said, "See the girl, that was hitting you before I...attacked you?" I nodded and she went on. "Well, you see, she`s a little angry at you. And she`s coming after you, she`s a witch and a vampire, and she`s pretty angry. She wants you and something else, but I don`t know if you have it." I nodded and said, "What? Is it some weird witchy thing, to unleash everyone and break all of these spells?" She scoffed and said, "Not exactly. Do you have and pieces of jewellery similar to your aunties?" I laughed and said, "Yeah, me, my brother and my niece has the same, well, not exactly the same, because I have the most jewellery out of all of them, but there is earrings, necklaces, ect..why?" I looked up at her worn out face. "Because, sh-Allison, is coming after you, for your jewellery - a little weird, I know. But she was recently released..." she said, trailing off, causing me to shout, "Released from where?!" She looked around. No one was there, so she just sat back and said, "When you were younger, did your auntie teach you any weird rhythm things? Like poems...or, what do they call it...chants?" I nodded with a smile, and I said, "Yeah! She taught me one, that goes a little something like this, 'Semanara retorsa hergreta monsonsa-" Lizzie cut me off with a shriek and a cry. "Stop!" she screamed, clutching her head. I stared at her and asked, "Wait, what, are you alright? What happened?" She glared at me and said, "You`re letting your powers take over you - you just did a spell called, 'Painful forgetfulls!' It hurts a lot! It puts a spell on vampires, so they remember something really bad which causes them pain. But you - you could kill every vampire in the world with that thing! Tone it down! Don`t think about it too hard, or you`ll kill yourself!" She calmed down a bit. "Now, what do I do?" She sniffed, still recovering and, with a grin, she replied, "You need to draw blood from yourself, that`ll draw her near." I looked at her. "I`ll need to go, she`ll appear and try to do a spell, to trick you into giving her the jewellery, I can`t stay, because of the blood, and everything. Bye!" she said. She walked out the room, and left me alone. I picked up a knife and cut my finger. The blood came out but I didn`t notice it as she appeared. "Hello Abbey - bye bye Abbey!" Allison whispered. I screamed but it was too late. Her hand was already clamped around my mouth and her mouth reaching my finger where the blood was painfully coming out. She reached for the knife, and plunged forward.
