Preface
He raised his head, and something glistened in the sunlight. I realised it was his teeth. I`d never imagined death to be this peaceful, no scared, unhappy feelings : just perfect bliss as his fangs sank into my neck. I was in my happy place, with Tom. I was a vampire and we were running through the fields, without a care in thhe world. I knew thats how it was going to be, when it happened. Or at least that`s how I thought it would happen.

Chapter 1
The desert was cold, lonely : of course I would be there. I wandered around, weak, from not feeding when I suddenly smelled something like never before : an amazing scent, but the thing that stood out most was the strangers blood. I sniffed again, thinking I was hallucinating : silly, but true. I walked through the trees, searching for the scent. It was delicious and hard to miss. When i saw the guy, I stopped, foretting the urge to rip his neck open and take all his blood. His blue eyes were gazing into mine. I gasped at how beautiful he was. I walked over warily and stopped 3 feet away from him. He stood up and bowed, something they did to pretty women in my day.
"My name is Nathan," he said. His voice was silky smooth, like the song of a lark. I smiled at him while I replied, "My name is Isobel." "Isobel," he whispered with a grin. "Nathan," I whispered back to him. I instantly knew I didn`t want to drink his blood : I knew I wanted to be with him, and I forgot what I was, Tom, and everything else, except that I loved him.

Chapter 2
Once I told we talked in his house and I fed from him. I could feel he enjoyed it, and he wanted to become what i was, but he was too beautiful to even hurt.I told him that and he told me he didn`t care : he wanted to be with me for eternity.
"It`s too hard! I don`t want you to feel the pain, " I lied. He looked at me again and said, "Stop lying! You told me how great it was!" Damn! I forgot I had told him! "Fine! I lied, but I`m not gonna do-" He cut me off with kiss. I sighed. I kissed him back, but he took this the wrong way. He reached for a needle. "NO!" I screamed but he didn`t listen. He cut his finger and the smell of his blood overwhelmed me. He put his finger up and I started to suck his blood. I knew the venom had escaped my lips, and I couldn`t help it : his blood was delicious. What you had to do was fill the body with venom : and drain it of blood. I did that without a second thought about what I was saying all of this time. I opened my eyes and when I saw him, lifeless, I knew the change had been done. It felt like the biggest mistake.
But was it?

Chapter 3
I sat there, waiting for him to wake up : if he would. I concentrated on my breathing, which was getting out of control, even for a vampire. I felt full, obviously, after what I had done. I scoffed at myself : and people said I had control over the things I did. I decided to phone my other vampire friend, Morgan.
"Isobel?" I could hear her voice, clearly through the phone. "Morgan? How`s vampire life treating you? Is knowing who`s gonna call or visit one of your vampire powers?" I asked.
"I thought it was caller ID but okay, I`ll go with that," she replied with a chuckle.
"Ha ha, very funny. The mind reader couldn`t read her best friends mind from 550 miles away, Big whoop!" I said, laughing. "Why did you phone?" she replied warily. She knew me so well.
"I did something wrong, really...bad." I breathed in and out before continuing. "I met, this guy, Nathan, and he was really nice, perfect...just the way he was. And I did some really, really, really, bad mistake...of letting the urge take over me." She gasped. "You didn`t...kill, him, did you?" I shook my head and let out my breath.
"No,...worse." She hesitated before saying, "What`s worse than being kill...oh right. Changing."
"Yes, and I don`t know if I did it right," I answered. "How...?" she asked.
I sighed. "He won`t wake up, and I`m really worried."
"I need to go, sorry, good luck with Nathan!" she shouted. "Okay, I`ll try!" I replied as she hung up.
"Bye, " I whispered to myself. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Nathan twitch and spring up. So it had worked, then. I smiled to myself. He looked better than ever : happier. He smiled back at me, even though the smile I smiled wasn`t directed at him. I let my breath out. This was going to be an easy life, I thought to myself as I walked forward...and began my life again
