she doesn’t have to do homework every night. I hadn’t practiced my powers for three whole days, it was a very unfair fight. I shot a boulder at her, she went flying out the window. I saw my cousin sprawled across the floor, she’d come to help me. I was worried about her, I kneeled down to try and heal her.

Before I could try to help, my darker figure swooped in and punched me as I was kneeling. I went flying across the floor, crashing into my bed. I was burned out, you’re not supposed to use physical violence in a casters fight. She could have really damaged my magic, I think that the whirlwind stopped protecting Julianne. The next thing I remember was my father holding me in his arms. I had gotten a black eye, my magic completely drained, and I had let my darker side get away again. My father was very disappointed in me, he was happy that I was alive though. I’m a terrible caster, I can’t even defeat my own darker personality and protect two people who mean a lot to me.

When I was able to stand, I very slowly walked down to Juliannes house. She was home, her sister had answered the door and shoved her into me. I started to cry when I saw her, she had a black eye also. What had she told her mother? She couldn’t tell her mother that she had gotten into a huge fight between two casters. She didn’t speak to me for a whole five minutes, she just gave me a hug. I sniffled and ushered an hello. “Hi, I’m sorry that I snuck into your house again. I really should have this time, maybe I would have gotten hurt.” She was still upset. “Look, that shadowy figure, thats a darker casting version of me. Every single caster has one, mine is just more powerful than me. Mine is also the only one that isn’t inside of me trying to convince me to use dark magic.” I shrugged, she hugged me again. I was still sniffling from the seven minutes of crying. I didn’t know what I was doing here. “Can I come in and sit down, I can barely stand. I was completely burnt out after that fight. Please?” She opened the door and ushered me to the kitchen where her mother was scrambling near the fridge, looking for something. She pulled out a stool for me to sit on. “Can I sit at your table? I might need back support on the chair.” She walked over to the table and brought a chair over to the bar in the kitchen, my house was pretty much fashioned the same way. I think they got an extension put on though, she had a ton of siblings.

Julianne

I remember the fight very vividly, all of what had happened to me. I saw Janus and her cousin lying on the floor, I was the only one still alive. This shadowy figure had to stop killing people, I stood up and stomped right over to the figure. I punched it straight across the face, giving it a black eye all though you couldn’t see it very well. The figure punched me across the face and then swooped out through the window. And flew away on a pile of floating leaves. I could barely stand after such a hard punch, but I was able to walk home. My mom started freaking out when she saw my black eye, my sisters were a little bit worried. My brothers hadn’t seen my yet, they’d be seriously worried though. I wobbled all the way upstairs, into my room and fell onto the bed. I slept and slept, until I heard knocking on the door, I started to walk downstairs to get the door. I was shoved by sister, againsts the railing halfway down the staircase. She swung open the door and started to bat her eyes. She grunted and ushered a quiet “Dammit”. She shoved me back down the stairs and into the doorway. It was Janus, she was staring at my black eye and then all of a sudden she started to cry.

I did what felt right, I hugged her. I have no idea how long she cried for, but it felt like forever to me. When she was done we had a discussion about her darker side, then she tripped while she was standing and asked if she could come inside. She wouldn’t sit down on the stools near the bar in the kitchen and insisted that I got her a chair from the dining table. She was acting like a diva and she wouldn’t stop apologizing.

“Hello, are you one of Julianne’s friends. Did I speak with your mother about you coming? None of her friends live around here, they all live at least through a long path in the park.” My mom was joining in a conversation that didn’t exist, she only turned her back for just a second when Janus had walked in the room. My mom immediately rolled her eyes when she saw Janus. She kept muttering something under her breath. “Are you Mia Bueragraund?” Janus had asked without any reason at all. “I am, it’s nice to be noticed again. That is the past though, I will not go back there to that fateful day.” My mother stopped and sat down on a stool next to Janus. My mom was having a flashback and would probably start to cry in a few seconds. Janus stopped talking and just stared at my mother, that was odd.

They both started to cry at immediatly the same exact same time. “How old are you?” “I’m only thirteen, I was born in April.” “You’re only thirteen and you can already do a mind meld? That is very astonishing darling. Are you a mind or purple caster?” “Nope, I’m a naturalist.” The conversation kept going for about ten minutes between my mother and Janus. She was an official gigantic weirdo… I can’t believe that my mom was a famous caster thing and she didn’t tell any of us. “What’s going on here?” Janus’ father walked into the house, through the sliding door. “Daddy! This is Mia Bueragraund, the uber famous caster!” “That is very exciting sweet heart. Wow, you are more beautiful then everybody says you are. Definitely more gorgeous than the pictures that are left of you!” Janus started to gag, her dad was flirting with my mom! Oh lala!

He started to say stuff in other languages, I didn’t quite know what he was saying but my mother was blushing majorly. I started to gag when she used fire out of her hands to form the same of a heart above his head. EEW! “I will never be able to get that picture out of my mind!” We both whispered to each other at the same time. We were one with each other at that moment in time. It was cool. “My wife, Janus’ mother, was recently killed by a Halamon Killer. We really don’t know why though. I would like another powerful female caster figure in Janus’ life.” Her father said this in english then continued to speak in a different language. Janus stood and walked out the sliding door, I followed her. My mother followed me, she stood behind me and smiled so big. “You can go home dear, you too James.” My mom said as they started to wave at us. Her father, James, winked at my mom. She blushed at him and hugged me, she was being weird.

Abby came stomping outside, “The little brats are in my room! She was looking through my closet!” Abby was talking about Syl. She had been going through Abby’s closet lately, nobody really knew why unless you were with her. Sylvia came casually through the sliding door with Abigail’s light blue dress on and gave it a twirl. “She jealous because I rock her dress better than she can herself!” Syl told my mom, pretending that Abby wasn’t there. Whenever Sylvia went digging through Abigail's closet they would ignore each other for a few days. My mom worries about them, they don’t act like sisters very often. Abby always liked Lily more than Sylvia. Abby stomped back into the house and Syl just skipped back into the house and grabbed her phone from the counter. She checked it and walked out the house, she wouldn’t be home for dinner today.

“So, you’re a famous caster…” I tried to make casual conversation with her but it was just awkward. Syl was prancing around the house as if she had just won the olympic games gold medal, she had won an argument with her sister. “Mom, can I go out to a party tonight?” Sylvia skipped up to mom as she was making her pot of evening tea, they had this conversation every few days. “Where is it at? Will there be boys? And… No drinking!” Same reply as usual. “It’s at Maya’s house, her parents will be there… and there will be boys but remember her parents will be there. It’s a holiday party for halloween, but no costumes or junk like that. It’s going to be pretty lame, I’ll stay there for a few minutes and meet with my buds then I’ll probably bale and go to some diner in the town over from us and be home at about one in the morning.” Completely different answer than last time. “Can I come?” It sounded interesting and Maya has a little brother who is my friend. “Text Maya and ask her if you’re little sister who is a teenager if she can come and play with with her little brother. He’s in a class with you, right?” “Yes, mother.” We both replied at the same time. I didn’t know that this party could have been extremely life changing, if I had got to go.

Sylvia

I grabbed the keys off the hook near the door and slid them into my pocket, I wasn’t actually going to some stupid party. As if I would tell my mom about the party I was going to, I hopped into the car and drove three towns over…a college party! I can’t believe my little sister believed that story as well, she was supposed to be smart. There was drinking, I didn’t have any though. I had to drive myself home. It was amazing except for this weird shady guy
