The Queen of Clubs
οΏΌ
Tears roll down your eyes
You almost seem surprised
You never thought it would be
Yet somehow you see
You see your life and your regrets
But now it is too late
And you can only wait
The pain you start to feel
You wonder if itβs real
No friends are there crying
You alone are dying
Chapter 1
Once upon a time, there lived a princess of clubs. It was January 1, the new year, and she had just come back from a new years party. She walked through the castle, in search of her mother, the queen. Finally she found her, sitting in the tower, crying silently.
βMother! Whatβs wrong?β she inquired.
βDear child, there is no cause to worry. Nothing has happened that I didnβt know would happen,β replied the Queen.
βBut what has happened?β
βIβm afraid I cannot tell you just yet, but what I can tell you is that we will be leaving to go on a holiday soon, just you and I,β said the Queen.
βWhy isnβt father coming with us, has something happened?β
βI suppose you will know eventually, I might as well tell you now. Your father has been sleeping with another woman, and I simply cannot be around him any longer.β
The young princess couldnβt believe her ears. Her father had betrayed them. She fled from the room and went outside to try to make sense of what she had heard. Who was this girl? How long had this been going on? None of it really mattered. All she knew was that she would never marry.
Years later, when the little girl had grown into a woman, she found that a woman was not allowed to be king. She had to marry in order to have control of the kingdom. There was only one way a queen could be king also, if the queen was a widow. Hastily she married and on the night of their wedding, she poisoned her husbandβs food. The Queen was never suspected of the horrible deed, and instead the butler was beheaded. Free at last, the Queen assumed Kingship and ruled the Kingdom of Clubs with a fist of steel. She was henceforth known as the Queen of Clubs.
The new queen was more powerful than any of the other queens and even kings of clubs that had reigned before. She was determined that men were cruel, deceitful, and wicked. None could soften her heart of stone. Many kings would come visit the Queen of Clubs, hoping to gain her respect and affection, for her kingdom was large and powerful. But she treated them all with cold hospitality. She had hardened her heart to the very core, and love had become a myth amongst her veins of treachery and corruption.
Then one day, the Queen beheld a most precious little orphaned girl. The girlβs deep brown eyes held tragedy that no human dared imagine. It reminded the Queen of that long lost New Years Day, when she learned of her fatherβs betrayal to her mother and herself. Without forethought, the Queen took the girl with her back to the palace, intending to raise her as her own. Since the Queen was unable to truly love the girl that needed affection so badly, the little girl, whose name was Ladasha, grew up as cold hearted as her adopted mother. But where she lacked in heart, she made up for in appearance. She had long, flowing black locks, a crystal complexion, and a perfect figure. Every prince that laid eyes on her fell in love with her immediately. But she cared not for any of the young princes that desperately tried to make her take notice of them.
The Queen knew all of this and was thoroughly pleased. She had created the perfect heir to her throne. She had long since passed a law that a Queen could rule without a king and without being a widow. So the evil workings of the Queen of Clubs could now flourish in the present and future.
This is only the first chapter and I plan to write more shortly...
