Bites

Ashley Lininger
Animarkia and Earth
The Realms
1My books stick to these two places. 2Earth is pretty much modern-day normal. 3We live here every day of our lives and rarely ever see any of its secrets. 4In my books, you get to see the darker side of Earth. 5Iโ€™ve tied in a few of the more significant historical events as key parts of my stories. 6All of my books have at least one chapter set in Earth. 7There is an enormous colony of vampires on Earth with an impeccable code of honor. 8There are dimensional hot-spots that links Earth to its sister dimension Animarkia.
1Animarkia is a land basically stuck in the medieval ages. 2All of humanity started in Animarkia. 3The people never really thought about upgrading to rockets, but are more centered in magic. 4Witchcraft has been officially outlawed, but it is still a major part of the culture. 5The people tend to be ignorant about the enormous population of vampires and werewolves, but know enormous amounts of knowledge about all of the other supposed โ€œmythicalโ€ creatures.
1Earth is highly ignorant of Animarkia, but Animarkians tend to bring Earth up randomly in conversations. 2The majority of โ€˜rogueโ€™ vampires and werewolves populate Animarkia, while Earth has more structure and order. 3Humans tend to be the same, normally pious and conceited. 4The vampires however are amazingly different. 5The vampires on Earth tend to think of themselves as a higher order, while the ones on Animarkia believe that the ones on Earth are pompous pigs. 6The werewolves are surprisingly single-minded. 7All they ever think about is kill vampire, kill vampire, kill vampire, and squirrel! 8Just joking. 9They usually stick to kill vampire. 10Witches do move from one dimension to the next, but prefer Animarkia. 11There are a few other minor species that pop up, the most common of these being the Serkai. 12These are small, fairy-like creatures. 13In fact, they are fairies. 14There are also the Wulfs. 15These are wolves that are larger than normal, but smaller than the dire wolf variety. 16They are sentient, and are worshipped by some groups of Animarkians.

Werewolves and Vampires
The โ€˜Teethโ€™
1Vampires tend to be the main characters in the majority of my books, but every once in a while, things will change up. 2When you go from a vampireโ€™s view, werewolves are filthy mutts who deserve nothing but death. 3Werewolves on the other hand, believe vampires are snotty, stuck up idiots who are barely even worth killing. 4Amazing how you can completely hate them in one book, and love them in the next, isnโ€™t it? 5Vampires in my books have many of the qualities of old-fashioned vampires. 6They are nocturnal, being unable to stand the sun for longer than half an hour. 7Garlic does burn them, and their highly developed senses suffer when there is garlic around. 8There is a permanent magical shield around them, extended to two inches from their bodies that blocks reflections. 9They tend to wear tight-fitting clothing because of this. 10They must be invited into a home or residence before they attempt to enter. 11If they try to pass through a threshold uninvited, they are blocked by a shield. 12It is developed by the energy living in the house. 13This applies to all other undead (zombies, mummies, etc.) as they are related to each other. 14Once they have been turned (sentence 17) they cannot enter places that they went before their turning. 15Vampires tend to group together in groups or covens as they are most commonly called. 16These groups are usually built for protection, as vampires tend to be solitary. 17A vampire is made by anotherโ€™s bite; vampires have venom that develops enough for a human to be turned twice a year.
1Werewolves are basically the same as the majority of the legends. 2There are actually very few arguments about them. 3Mine are slightly different seeing as they can change at will rather than only at the full moon. 4The werewolves are forced to change on the full moon, as that is when they are at the peak of their power. 5They tend to range in size and intellect, with the leaders not always being the smartest. 6Werewolve live by social status. At the bottom of the pack (sentence 8) is the omega, and at the top is either the alpha or beta. 7Werewolves unlike vampires, see the females as integral parts of their society. 8Werewolves gather in large groups of seven to fourteen, some grow to be bigger, these groups are called packs. 9Werewolves, like many other canines, group together, as they highly dislike being solitary. 10Silver is their bane, but they love to use it as a weapon, as it resembles Luna (Diana), their goddess of the moon. 11They worship the Greco-Roman goddesses Diana and Vivian, the goddess of the moon, and the goddess of the wolf.
1The two at one time were at peace, working together to survive. 2But one day a vampire and a werewolf both marked a single human girl. 3This started a war, as she was an extremely powerful being. 4In the end, she became a half-breed, part vampire, and part wolf. 5This did not please either side, as she was even more powerful than before. 6They fought even more voraciously, to see who would gain the girl.

The Serkai and Witches
Lirium Ice
1The Serkai are a small, almost extinct group of fairies. 2They worship lirium, a unique mineral made of frozen fire. 3It is the color of a flawless emerald, but is harder than diamond. 4The Serkai have several โ€˜propheciesโ€™ about the precious minerals, but I donโ€™t think that I will include them in my books. 5The Serkai are known to flock around places where the lirium grows naturally. 6It is easier to find the lirium than it is to get it. 7On Earth, lirium is nonexistent, making it impossible for the Serkai to reside there long-term. 8There are a few Serkai that have gone rouge, cutting off their wings, and severing their ties to the lirium. 9They are imbued with the magical essence of lirium, making them the most powerful creatures possible. 10If they were as large as humans, they would have the world at their fingertips.
1Witches are the natural counterpart to the Serkai. 2They are the gifted few. 3They have eye the color of lirium, and are adept at magic. 4They are not even half as powerful as the Serkai, but their incantations (in Latin) are their strong suit. 5They tend to have familiars (nightmares, ember-cats, dire wolves, hell hounds, etc.) which are magical creatures that strengthen the magic of spells and mark the person as a true witch. 6They are not the typical โ€˜wicked witch of the westโ€™ stereotype, but rather a peaceful people who enjoy calm and relaxation. 7Most of witchcraftโ€™s fearsome reputation comes from necromancy (raising the dead) or demon worship. 8Three years before the time setting of my books, witchcraft was outlawed in Animarkia. 9Try to imagine, if you can, the Salem witch trials. 10That is what is still going on in Animarkia. 11There are a few witches that migrated to Earth for safety.

Wulfs
The Protectors
1The Wulfs are an amazing species that very little is known about. 2They are highly intelligent, living for eons. 3They are even more adept at magic than the Serkai. 4They are ancient and primal, living like animal scholars. 5A Wulf would have no use in weapons, as it is more powerful than even a werewolf. 6Wulfs know nearly everything there is to know. 7It is possible to ask them a question of great importance, at a price. 8Wulfs act as fate, knowing what is to happen decades before. 9They have agreed to never allow the natural balance to go out of way, but they are slowly massing for warโ€ฆ
