Chapter One

Bo ran down the dirt stairs. Dust flew up around him in a cloud.A loud thudding noise came from the floor above. "I've managed to hold them off for a bit. Has he finished yet?" bo directed his question to a brunette sitting to my right.

"What do you think?" Tam responded, obviously frustrated.

"Shhh," I quieted them. If this was going to work, I needed absolute silence. I closed my eyes tighter and tried concentrating. Sadly, it became obvious to me that  this wasn't going to work. I simply wasn't strong enough. Opening my eyes, I  looked at Bo and Tam. "I can't  do it. We'll just have to regroup later." They looked back at me with tired eyes. From above, I heard the door break and I quickly willed us all to black out.

Ringing filled my ears. The sound beat against my head as I got a splitting headache. As soon as I opened my eyes, I was immediately blinded by a bright, white light. I blinked multiple times until the shock faded. I was lying in a bed, facing the ceiling. Everything was white. the hospital bed was white, the curtains, the walls, and even my clothes. The hospital gown hung loosely off my body. As I managed to sit up, I took in the rest of the room. There were a few chairs, and two doors. One on the left side of the room that probably led to a bathroom, and one on the right that led outside of the room. I pulled the bedsheets off, but I soon felt something on the back of my hand. I groaned when I realized it was an IV. I held my breath, and I pulled it out as gently as I could. My bare feet touched the cold, tiled floor. I rushed to the door. I had to get to Bo and Tam as fast as I could. It would make sense that they would be in the same hospital. Probably near me too. As I got to the doork I realized there was one problem. the door was locked from the outside. Footsteps echoed from the hallway. I froze, and I used my magic to camouflage myself into my surroundings. A nurse in blue scrubs, unlocked the door and strode into the room. I slipped throught the open door, and I ran. I looked in every room. the first four rooms were a bust. But then I heard something that made my heart stop.

"Jordan!" The voice was low and sounded desperate. It was the voice of my brother. My brother I hadn't seen in five years. Such a strong wave of happiness mixed with relief washed over me, that warm tears hit my cheeks. I sank to the floor, and I hugged my knees. a swarm of nurses and doctors surrounded me, and they injected me with some sort of sedative.
