The curtains drew back slowly revealing the disassembled head of Mr. Bird. His eyes were still opened and his mouth gaped open in a silent scream. βThis will be you, Karen. In less than twenty four hours your head will sit right here next to your math teacher, and I will have everything youβve worked so hard to obtain. You friends, your family, you precious boyfriend all mine.
I sat there contemplating what to do. Karisa, my twin sister given up at birth, found me six months ago and has been terrorizing me ever since. Her plan to kill me and take over my identity has gone way too far. She ruined my life, hurt the people I love, and killed my teacher all in six months. Now she is going to torture me and finish the job.
βKaren, any last words?β
βNo.β I choked out with as much hate in my words to kill a city but all she did was glare at me harder and jeers her head around slapping me in the face with her long jet black hair. The school auditorium was totally and entirely empty instead of the two of us and Mr. Birdβs head. My hands were sore from tugging with the rope tied around my wrists.
βSay goodbye.β She pulled an ax from behind her back and held it up high above her head and swung it down with great force.
βStop, put it down!β a voice from the back of the auditorium called out.
Karisa froze in mid swing and looked up. β Mr. Bird!β
βMr. Bird? But your head! Its-β I was speechless.
βItβs a fake Karen, just like Karisa. I know everything give it up, Karisa.β Mr. Bird said with force in his voice.
βSo what if your right? What will you do about it?β Karisa screamed.
βHuh.β Is all it said while gesturing behing his back. Three policemen entered. Armed.
βWhoa, no need to bring guns into the mix.β She said raising her hands slightly βYou got me.β She reached up to her hair and yanked it off. Underneath the golden blonde locks were brunette locks. She looked like me but she wasnβt. she wasnβt me? She lied. I donβt have a twin. My parents were right. Karisa has been filling my head with lies making me seem crazy and out of my mind I was right and she was-
I broke off in mid thought looking up I saw the ax coming down on me and karisaβs devious, crooked smile. That was the last thing I ever saw.
