Introduction (Prologue)
My world was turned upside down when I meet Cole. It was also the day I got thrust into their world I swear Cole did this on purpose! We had been sitting in the movie theaters when a man up front stood. He looked behind him, his bright blue eyes searching the crowd landing on Cole. He moved away from the aisle and heading toward us I grabbed Coles hand and stood trying to pull him to the other side of the theater. He just stayed sitting not budging. I looked back at the man for some reason fear ripped through me.
The willpower to move seemed gone too. I stood there looking into the man's eyes and seemed rooted to the spot. He reached us looking firmly at Cole saying something in a language I didn't understand. Cole answered on the same language. I looked startled at him and then I passed out.
As I came too I heard voices. "I don't like her Love you know she's only a human" I recognized the voice as Cole's. A girl answered "I don't know Cole you were supposed to go only to learn her schedule not inject yourself into her life and be her...” Her words melted into that annoying language. "Anglea you know humans are vermin to our kind all they are is walking blood banks! She is nothing to me okay, just a snack someday when she's a slave okay??" The girl Anglea snorted and said "Yea I want to see you tell that to her face" I opened my eyes so that they were slits. Anglea was completely and utterly beautiful. Her long red hair cut straight across at the waist. Her face was model perfect. Her eyebrows also perfect nothing seemed out of place on this girl even her eyes were an ordinary green they just focused on what looked like every bit of dust in the air...strange. Cole was looking at me his eyes nor his face showed any emotions! I saw something moving behind him. I opened my eyes pretending to be groggy. Yawning I reached up to rub my eyes but I couldn't move my arms. I looked down alarmed. My wrists were bound in metal clasps.
My gaze went straight to Cole he looked into my eyes and he looked sorry but he said nothing. "Ah, good you’re awake" I looked in the direction the voice had come from. It was the man from the movie theater! "What do you want?" I spoke my voice sounded hoarse but strong. The Anglea girl stepped forward. I gave her a come and get me look. Her face heated pink with the teasing. She leapt at me but I ignored her knowing she'd never reach me. The old man spoke to me also ignoring Anglea. "We want you; we know you have a power that is beyond powerful!" I was utterly confused. "I beg your pardon what are you talking about?" I said. Cole was holding back Anglea. I laughed at her still not feeling her as a threat. "You are Miss. Fields correct?" I nodded and the old man grinned. "Then yes, you are the powerful-lusted one indeed." Blinking up at him in utter confusion, I opened my mouth than closed it. So they knew.
Powerlusted meant a lot to them I could tell not only did it mean I could bind others to do my will even those stubborn strong willed mundanes, it also meant I could control any of the five elements. Anglea snarled at me her green eyes flaring to a brilliant emerald green. "Powerlust my...” Her voice cutting off for a split second before continuing β€œShe's a mundane nothing more, Joshua please you know I'm the only Powerlust left!" Her voice had gone all shrill. Grinning at her I laid my head against the cool metal of the slab lay on. "Was all this really necessary? I mean kidnapping me and then holding me against my will? And Cole you’re a Jackhead. I trusted you and look where that got me...." My voice trailed off as tears filled my eyes. I really did love him; he used me for his own personal game as you can tell.
Chapter One
The Last Rose in Bloom
Introduction)
The Last Rose in Bloom
β€˜It was a horrible beginning to a horrid friendship that would last till the last rose died…..in an endless sea of bad dreams.
Beauty doesn’t fade in an instant, though it may become tainted to the beholder.
So as the sun sets for the last time and the wind dies down, my heart will fly away…becoming the last rose in bloom.
I have given my love to you, only to see it fail,
Something a faint and frail in your hands, my fate lies with you.
A rose, the last rose in bloom.’
The words inked into the shocking white paper, a daring scarlet against the frail coloring. The chiming of the clock rang clear and true in my eyes… Midnight. Silently cursing under my breath, I set down the quill in my hand. This was my life; the writing, for when I wrote I conveyed a scene of beauty, or so my mother told me.
Gathering my skirts from under me I went to the room door, twisting the knob as silently as possible I pulled. The dark and dank hall empty. Sighing I stepped out creeping amongst the shadows, wishing myself one, I headed for home.
β€˜Beauty is something easy enough to find, if you search in the right places and in the right personas’
Chapter One;
Everything Beautiful
This is my world all wrapped up into something so complex. Others may think it simple, I’d beg to differ, my life is mine alone to understand, mine alone to bear, and mine alone to live.
