Chap 3

โ€œUgh! I hate it Kel. Why does it drive me so crazy?โ€ Laylahnni asked Kellan as she stirred the Asian rice.
โ€œWhat?โ€ He asked totally confused.
โ€œBabe you werenโ€™t paying attention to me!โ€ She whined. โ€œI said that my mom acts like Iโ€™m not even here anymore and she still calls Leo, so why not just come up to my room and talk to me. I mean she doesnโ€™t have to pick up a phone or dial numbers with me. Iโ€™m easier to access, well easier than someone in a war all the way in Iraq. Sometimes she calls him but he cant answer. So she writes him instead. Still I say Iโ€™m easier to reach. Right up the stairs. And I hate that it drives me so crazy and I was wandering why it does.โ€ she finished with a long, loud sigh and sat back down at the kitchen bar.
โ€œI donโ€™t know Beautiful. Some things are unexplainable. donโ€™t get mad, but, jealousy maybe? Iโ€™m sorry I cant help you there. Or maybe you may even be a little attention deprived--โ€
โ€œI DONโ€™T WANT ATTENION!โ€ she screamed into the phone. Everything was silent for about thirty seconds when she said, โ€œKellan, Baby Iโ€™m sorry. I didnโ€™t mean to yell. Pregnancy hormonesโ€ฆโ€ she finished realizing what she just said out loud.
She heard the door open and close.
โ€œWhat did you say? Do you mean--โ€
โ€œKellan, my moms home. I got to go.โ€ she said quickly as if he would forget about the screw up.
She hadnโ€™t told Kellan about it yet because she wasnโ€™t sure if she really was pregnant. And if she was she didnโ€™t know what she was going to do. She only knew that no matter what -- whether Kellan left her or not-- she was keeping the baby.
