Memory Gate 1-

“Come on, Master we are going play over here,” said the mysterious young girl with shoulder length silvery-white hair and sweet gentle blue eyes, whom I called Milady. I followed her over to the huge beautiful cherry blossom tree that shined heavens beautiful glorious rainbow through its cherry petals the cherry blossom tree was the only beautiful thing here aside from Milady out of the dark gloomy forest. “What are we going to play today, Master?” she said as she started to climb the tree to sit on one of its limbs, her white dress that was to the length of her knees, flow so gracefully it flowed like the waves of a gentle calm ocean. I looked at her beautiful eyes and grinned widely, “We are going to play hide-and-go-seek, Milady.”
“I don’t think I’ve played that game before, how do you play it” Milady said cocking her head to one side.
“Well,” I said putting my hands behind my head, “You’re going to hide somewhere and I am going to count to 30 and then once I’m done I have to say, ‘Ready or not here I come’ then I have to go and find you and If I find you I win, but if I don’t find you I say, ‘OK, you win, come on out’ and then you come out of your hiding spot and then you win, got it?”
Milady straightened her position to look at me properly, “Yes, yes I do that sounds very fun,” she said smiling then jumping down from the tree branch and landing on the ground very gracefully not even losing balance or making a hard thump sound, “so do we start playing now?”
I smiled widely, “Yeah, so go hide and remember you only have until the count of 30 OK?”
“OK.” Milady said smiling and then running away to a hiding spot that I would have to find. I immediately turned around I began to count, shouting; 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7…until I reached 30. When I reached the 30 I spun around and yelled at the top of my lungs, “Ready or not here I come!” I could hear the echo throughout the forest, I began to run at my fastest pace to find Milady, find her and win the game. I searched, and searched. I looked in every place that Milady has taken me to: The black creek; where she could hide near the bank she wasn’t there, Moon-high; where you could see through most objects because there was a small distortion there, but couldn’t see her or find her, Lake Lost Waters; where the waters were murky but even milady had to breath sometime, all around our normal hang-out spots and areas and other spots that Milady has marked as our ‘safe zones’ throughout the forest but still couldn’t find her. As I came back to the cherry blossom tree, I looked at my pocket watch and it had been two hours and fifteen minutes since we started, I sighed and had to admit it I couldn’t find her so I spun around and yelled, “OK, you win, come on out.” But, Milady didn’t come out. I called out again repeating my defeat, but she still seemed to be hiding. I immediately ran back to all the places I had checked before saying ‘You won, you won, come out, come out’ but even as I checked all the areas again places that I was sure or guessed she could be hiding, checking the spots and areas that she said I could go, she wasn’t there, not anywhere. I checked every bush tree crack and water and still couldn’t find her. I ran back to the cherry blossom tree and I didn’t understand where could she have gone? How could she of left me like that? I thought she was my friend, did she betray me was she pretending to care? Could she be hurt, could she be trapped, being held hostage? Oh, where could she have gone? Thoughts of Milady’s absence made my head hurt and so I stood there speechless and mixed emotions filled my heart and it made my heart ache. As I stood there I began to cry, arm tears slowly dripped down my cheek. As I stood in the dark cold forest, I felt lost, scared, worried but most of all I felt…alone.
