so surprised and shocked noticed that they have been quietly standing there all along, but now you’re butt-naked in front of them, would you blame them for watching you when you didn’t first make sure that before you stripped you had the bedroom door locked? I don’t think it would be right if you did any way. The door was open and the kid was fascinated watching a totally different side of mummy or daddy, only this time butt-naked. And so, to that I say, we reap what we sow; so is the same when it comes to God, when you think you’re in the dark or away from the rest of the world and nobody can see you; God is watching and taking not; so next time you suffer or are happy, remember what you did, bad or good, you reap what you sow at the end of it all.
I know that sometimes you may do good things over and over again but without ever achieving or receiving good in return, well, I don’t think a seed grows into a plant or a tree in a few days, and since what you sow is what you reap, I don’t think after a turn to evil the result will be good eventually either. So hold on, the day is coming for you to achieve good for your good deeds. What is meant to be will be and what was not meant to be won’t happen, so create an environment of what is meant to be and wait for it to be, because it will be.
How do you do wrong and expect to get good or right in return. Those are two opposite things, so don’t ever expect them to be close and at peace. Like this friend of mine in high school who always ran away from this beautiful girl who had a big crush on him; he knew it but he could not love her because she was a bit fatter than he wanted her to be, and
she definitely didn’t look a model as those catwalk models or the Hollywood sweethearts that he always dreamt of marry someday; but I tell you, however much he broke her heart by keeping away from her and avoiding her, she never gave up on him. Now they have five kids and have lived in a happy marriage for fifteen years.
Let me also tell you about how they met again five years after high school: this guy (my friend) was in a restaurant with his gorgeous girlfriend having dinner, after eating he discovered that he had forgotten his wallet at home. And he also didn’t have any money on him and neither did his girlfriend; she yelled at him for not being a man enough and she walked away from him, telling him never to call her again.
While the guy tried to plead with the waiters to let him go get the money, came the restaurant manager, she was also the owner of the restaurant. To his surprise and shock it was that fat chic he had always ignored in high school; she had slimmed and she looked more gorgeous than he ever thought she would become and even more than that girlfriend of his who had earlier on abandoned him in his time of crisis.
His “old girl” just let him walk away without paying the restaurant bill. He didn’t think she would be that lenient to him after how bad he had treated her in high school when she loved him so much. Anyway, he later came back to the restaurant and paid his bill, got the manager’s number, a date ensured and before a year he had married “the then ugly fat girl he had run away and ignored so much in high school.”
That’s how we are in life, God may have another plan for our lives, but we run away from it and waste our time, money and hearts, only to realize later that we made a total mistake and that we need to return back to what we ignored in order to straighten up our failing life, career, relationship or any endeavor, or in other words, we spend the rest of our life in obscurity and regret, because we think and see it too late to
straighten things up. It’s never too late once you’re still living, and remember, God is timeless and so forgiving.
Life like in a tight traffic jam
Sometimes life can be a rollercoaster ride; wherever you turn it’s no better than where you have been or are from. It is something that can leave us wondering whether God really loves us or he even exists anyway. I know of people, even myself before I could really believe in a better future, that see life never to seem to be taking them anywhere because they have their minds stuck up. Many times we lose direction just because everywhere we turn or everything we do is never getting any better. Imagine when you’re caught up in a tight traffic jam and you know that if you don’t make it to a certain office in time, boy you will miss a job interview in a field you have toiled for, for years. At that moment your future looks darker than you had ever anticipated because this is one opportunity you have waited for, for years, now that it’s here, traffic jam is right in between, and to make matters worse, the traffic jam has caught you up five or six miles away. At this moment you don’t have to get into panic and feel as though you’re the only one in that traffic jam who is in such a situation. Just sit back, forget about the job interview and look around you; you will discover that you’re not the only one pushing your head out of the window, just to try and see what is going on ahead; you won’t even be the only one honking so terribly as if it were judgment day, as if you can’t even see or tell that you’re right in the middle of all the cars in the jam; what of those still very many people behind you, think about it, what do you think is boiling in them, obviously panic and frustration too. Or what about those who are at the real start of the jam and can see clearly what is holding them back but can’t do anything about it; don’t you think they’re more nervous than
you are? They are close to the problem causing the traffic jam for crying out loud, so relax and keep your mind focused.
Okay, if you’re so frustrated, go right ahead and drive side to side, forth and back trying to push your way out, hence you will be getting nowhere still, yet creating more problems for yourself. Patience with a never dying spirit to work towards your goal pays off awesomely. So, in such a tight situation, when you’ve got something big you’re expecting ahead, you don’t have to panic or breakdown and cry or start cursing God for not loving you enough because what you think is your only opportunity in life has blow away. Remember, you’re not the only one who has got stuck up in that tight traffic jam. There are many people who’re in the same situation that you’re in. some are even losing their marriage of many years if they don’t make it at home quick because they slept out working and forgot to call to inform their spouse about the pending issues at the office that had to make them work till late, and now their spouse think they were out sleeping around. And boy imagine your wife in that jam you’re in, screaming divorce on the phone, and the only way to salvage the situation is to get back home in person and try to explain to her face to face what the real problem was or is, but when you tell her that you’re just a few kilometers away, she barks back and says that you’re now even telling her how far you are with that other women.
I wonder why women sometimes get a little far carried away. Now you see how terrible traffic jam can be for not only you but for many other people too, in many different ways. So, never panic or get all nervous when in a tight situation, everything happens for a reason and many people are going through the same tough tide you are in or even worse. Maybe even that job you’re busy rushing for will make you the most corrupt person ever lived or it will make you lose a lot more than you could have anticipated, and that tight situation is just saving your future.
And for all men who sleep with co-workers, maybe that jam is saving you from the worst fornication of your life with a co-worker. I am not being weird here, but you think about it and please don’t get back to me but just pull your pants up and tighten that zipper on your fly.
Anyway, most of you may ask me this question: “what if I get out of that stupid traffic jam and still get the job or the situation isn’t bad after all?” My answer to that would be: maybe you just needed to learn a lesson or two about patience, endurance and faith while in that traffic jam, and besides, everything happens for not one reason or the other, it’s for many reasons I bet you, so learn well from every situation, whether good or bad, and quit blaming others, yourself or God for the setbacks and mistakes that happen in your life. I can assure you that the more you whine about crap, you will always get crap. Isn’t it what we all crave for, to get what we ask for? Well, as we all are aware, unless you’re unborn, life is never perfect, and the world is neither a fair place; but we, through our thinking, against all odds make it a happy or a sad home. I always hear people say that: “if you know that you will die someday, you will start appreciating everything in life, whether good or bad.” And so, I think, with that, you will start handling your life carefully and have a very good reason to live.
I will also tell you that if you have to succeed in life or get to where you want to be in life, you have to start appreciating what is around you and what you get, because that’s what is going to hold you back or make you a better person you want to become. Why do you think great people too have or had their high moments, and eventually their lows started to show up and they were no more? Well, it is because nothing or nobody lasts forever. But that though doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t enjoy what we have for the time we have it. Have or enjoy the best of what you have now, because there will come a time when even the little you had before was far much better. So, never
