to sleep with it.

When Jahase woke up, he was completely recovered. Sraz was still sleep and Jahase got up from his bed and stretched. The lights in the room were dim and he smiled. He tried to remember the jumble that Sraz had said that night about “Nano” and ”Guardians” but it only gave him a headache. This also reminded him of the symbols beneath his bed.

He turned to his bed and paused. Did he really want to look again? He remembered the first time he looked and it made him sweat. But it was something about his past. He as of now had no pieces to his past except for that one memory.

He took a deep breath and took the bed by its side. He lifted it up again the wall and look over the symbols again. This time he didn’t feel any strong emotions or have a flashback. However, the symbols seem to emit light from the floor in a language he could read. Each letter lit up slowly as he read out loud.

“Percoles – 1/4, Elyus – 1/28, Urayah – 2/14,” Jahase began to realize that what he was reading was a list. It was names and dates, by month and day, but he had no idea what they meant. “Drio – 2/27, Hasi – 3/21” One name didn’t have a date and was circled, “Miri?” he said out loud. Sraz stirred then got up.

Smacking his lips, he scratched his head then stood up and stretched. His hair was a mess and he looked at Jahase in disgust. He groans and waved a hand at him as if to tell him to go away, then he stumbled over to the toilet in his cell.

If Sraz new something about this then he could probably help. He stood up and looked over to Sraz as he drank some water form a bowl and shock his hair in a mirror.

“Who is Drio?” Jahase asked walking up to the bars. Sraz looked up at him then walked over to his mattress where he leaned against to crack his back.

“Drio, huh?” Sraz said. He really didn’t care to be rude; it was too early for fighting. “It was another kid just like you; he could like erm… control water. He was in that cell about 2 months again. Died when the put him in the arena the second time.”

“Oh. So what about Elyus; who was he?” Jahase was going on a hunch now; maybe those were the times they died. Sraz paused in his starching and stood up.

“Empathic, died about a month before him; January 20 something I believe. Really weak.” Sraz said. Jahase nodded then returned to the writings. He continued to look down the list as Sraz came to the bars. “What you got there?”

After the circled name Miri, There were only two more names and they both had the same date. “Who was the last person in here?” Jahase said looking down at the writing in shock.

“Some kid named Hasi, crazy kind of fellow. He was a physic. Was telling me about the things he saw in his visions. Real weird things like Dragons and wings. He only lasted a day in here before they killed him off. All of his predictions were correct thou.” Sraz spat out. Now he was wondering what that was. Jahase looked down at the names once more to see if he was hallucinating.

‘Jahase – 4/13, Sraz – 4/13’ he read in his mind. He looked up slowly to Sraz.

“I think he predicted the day of our deaths.” He said. Sraz passed and cocked his head to the side.

Jahase got up and moved quickly to the calendar on the wall. It was the 13th of April. His heart dropped just as he seen it; termination. Next to his brick wall, one of the bricks fell out of place. He looked when it hit the ground as it smashed into 50 pieces on the ground.

He hesitated, and then he walked over to where the brick fell out and looked in. Sraz turned when he heard the moving of gears and saw a large keyhole next to his door.

“What the?” he walked over to the keyhole and lifted his hand. It was big enough to fit in. He looked up to Jahase who looked back at him. He thought of it as a challenge and reached in. inside was something cylindrical with fabric on it.

Jahase saw the look on Sraz’ face when he grabbed it and reached in. There was also a cylindrical in tem but it was wood. The instant he reached in, something clamped onto Sraz’ and his wrist. Something large and metal that made them both jump.

Sraz push against the wall but couldn’t force his hand out. Jahase only jerked twice before he quit. If Sraz couldn’t get it out, he knew he couldn’t.

Suddenly their doors opened. They both stepped out into the Arena.

‘Not another fight’ Jahase thought.

Jahase turned around to see what he was holding, and it was another 14 foot staff made of wood. Around his wrist was a large metal wristband that was attached to the staff. He looked at Sraz who was also looking at his weapon and his wrist clamp. He looked up at Jahase and yanked his weapon out.

He showed Jahase the curved arm blade he pulled out. Jahase however, was looking at the chain that lead from his arm down the wall between them. Sraz didn’t notice the chain until Jahase pulled his staff from the wall revealing him his chain that connected Jahase’s wrist clamp and Sraz’ wrist clamp.

Sraz’ face dropped just as he saw the chain. How was he supposed to fight connected to this guy?

“What the hell Jahase?” Sraz growled. “You couldn’t have stuck a grapefruit in the hole? That would have been much more useful.”

“Sorry,” Jahase said with a shrug. He looked forward and sighed as Sraz tossed his head back and growled.

Jahase looked up as he saw something hit the ground. It was a small glowing syringe looking tube that shined a high blue color. Sraz looked down switching his blade into his other hand and starting to pick at the wrist clamp. He growled and mumbled under his breath but stopped when the chain jiggled. He looked up slowly and saw Jahase was stepping back.

He looked forward and saw a large blue mist growing in front of them. Inside grew a yellow animal like skeleton of something that resembled a bull dog with a large head. It was about 6 feet tall and had black heir growing out of the top of the skull and it had 2 sets of eyes on each side of its head. This was all complete with a pair of bat wings, a jewel for a tail and long sharp claws with suction cups on the bottom.

Sraz didn’t think for a second about this one. He Crouched down then lunched blade first at the beast letting out a barbaric battle cry.

Jahase however, did not move and inch. He studied the physical aspects of the beast. The main thing he noticed what that the mist around it was coming from its mouth. It opened up at Sraz came at it.
Jahase acted quickly and grabbed the chain. He yanked it back, trusting Sraz out of mid air away from the beast. Sraz yelped as he was tugged and released his blade into the mist. He hit the ground and moaned then looked up to Jahase.

“What the hell Jahase?” He growled. Sraz was sure if a clean beheading of the beast if his attack was successful. Jahase pointed back to over Sraz at the beast. Sraz looked back to see his blade floating in the mist. The mist surrounded it the blade shattered into pieced and fell to the ground.

Sraz felt ignorant. He growled and then turned to Jahase once he thought of something to yell at him about.

“That was my weapon you ass!” Jahase sighed. He knew Jahase was saying that to cover up his stupidity.

Behind Sraz, the mist gather into a serpent like form then jumped at Sraz. Jahase acted quickly by pulling the chain, dragging Sraz behind himself and making the mist come for him. Jahase then spun his staff in his hands in front of himself, using it as a fan to blow the mist away. Then, the beast itself leaped forward and him Jahase with its bone claw, knocking him across the arena and dragging Sraz along with him.

Jahase moaned when he hit the wall and Sraz got up. Looking at the beast, he growled back to Jahase as he slowly got up.

“Get up,” Sraz yelled, “I got an idea.” Jahase got up and held his staff. “Blow the mist so I can close its mouth. Jahase moved along the side of the beast and spun his staff, blowing the mist away from hits head.

Sraz ran in. The beast swung his claw and Sraz jumped over it and gave it a sharp upper cut. It groaned as its jaw arched up and closed its mouth. Sraz hit the ground and yanked the chain, swinging Jahase over the head of the beast.

When the chain crossed over the head of the beast and Jahase had landed in front of Sraz, Sraz kicked him back under the beast, making a loop around the neck of the beast. Sraz yanked his end just a Jahase reached his end of the chain and the presser closed around the neck of the beast and decapitated it.

It moaned as its head feel to the ground and the mist quickly faded away. It leaked black fluid from its head before it rapidly decompose like the ringmaster and the other beast that they faced.

Jahase moaned as he got up. He had just been jolted around like a children’s play thing and was dizzy and hurt. He healed as he stood up and turned to see the beast die off. He smiled big and put a thumb up to Sraz.

“Great team work, brother” Jahase said with over excitement. Sraz growled and grabbed the chain. He yanked it and Jahase feel with a shout of surprise, and grunted when he hit the ground.

Sraz stood over his with a smiled.

“Homo,” He said when Jahase hit the ground.

Jahase smiled as he got up. He honestly believed that this was Sraz’ way of telling you that he trusted you. He brushed off his pants just in time to see their doors open. The chain broke off and they walked into their separate rooms.

As they entered the doors shut behind them, and they sat on their own beds.

“I thought they was going kill us today huh?” Sraz said sarcastically. Jahase stayed quiet. He had a thought. He stood up and walked to the bars. Reached out, he felt the electron field right on the other side. He looked around it and it was only attached to the walls.

Sraz began to wonder what Jahaase was doing and stood up. As he approached the bars to get a better view of Jahase, Jahase shifted intangibly through the floor and came up on the other side. Sraz jaw had dropped. He had completely forgotten about Jahase ability.

Jahsase smiled and wlaked over to Sraz’ gate He began to fiddle with Sraz’ lock as Sraz came over.

“Watch out,”
