don't spill a customers order next time ok?"
"Sure."
For the next four hours Joey, Thalia, and Jamie, rolled around on rollerblades, serving up orders, dishing out info on the pics under the counter, and when the cafe finally closed for the night they had to clean up.
"I never realized just how much work a cafe could be." Joey said, slidding onto one of the stools at the counter. "I shall never look at a cafe the same way again. Instead, I think I'll look at in horror, what do you guys think?"
Keith and Thalia both laughed, and were still laughing when Jamie came out of the bathroom in her normal outfit again.
"Whats so funny?" She asked, but the others were laughing to hard to answer her straightly.
When they had calmed down again she told Thalia and Keith that they could go home and she and Joey would lock up. While Joey changed clothes Jamie leaned against the counter listening to 'I don't have to me till Monday' on full blast. When he came out in his normal clothes she led him outside and locked the door behind them.
"You need a ride?" She asked, gesturing to her Harley.
"You kidding? I'd love one." He said, grinning at her.
She handed him her spare helment and asked him his address. They soared down the road, swerving through traffic and making sharp turns. When she final made it to his house he was laughing so hard he fell off the bike.
"That was awesome!" He said, when he'd caught his breath again.
"Thanks, I do try." She said with grin.
"Jamie, I was wondering, would you maybe want to go out with me? I may be knew here, but I know how to show a girl a good time. What do you say?"
"Ok, it couldn't hurt. I'll check my personal calender, then the schedule, when I get home. I'll give you a call and let you know when I'm free. I gotta go, I'll call you."
Slipping the spair helment into her backpack, she gunned the bike and drove awa

Chapter Four

"So the prodigy decides to return home after all?"
Jamie winced inwardly when she heard the anger behind Ana's sarcasm. She had thought to sneak past Ana's room and sneak into hers but, as Ana would say, the jig was up.
"Well? Are you going to just stand there or are you going to explain just exactly where you've been?"
Keeping up her cool and detached manner, Jamie hung up her leather coat and set her helmets in the closet. She laid her backpack on the floor and looked at Ana. Even in a long, soft pink nightgown, pink slippers, and her hair cascading around her, Ana somehow managed to look like an avenging goddess.
"Well, first the principal decided he liked me so much that he decided to keep me for a while after school." Jamie said sarcastically.
"Really, Jamie! On the first day of school? Why can't you just follow the rules!"
"Relax, Ana, I was being sarcastic. The new owner for the cafe showed up today, brought his kid and left him in charge, and after we closed the owner's kid needed a ride so I offered. After that I needed some time to think so I drove down to the and took a walk. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have had a long day and wish to retire. Goodnight warden."
Before Ana could reply Jamie slammed the door.
With more hurry than absolutely necessary, Jamie untied her gloves and tossed them on the dresser, washed of her make-up, kicked off her shoes and removed her socks, then dispensed her locket into her dark oak jewelry box.
The dΓ©cor for her room was simple and sleek.
She had a bed that wasn't much more than two mattresses on wheels, she had a big black comforter and the few pillows, all in black pillow cases other than the one Ana had bought her. She had a black wooden desk in one corner, cluttered with papers, pencils, pens, chalks, and paints, that were accompanied by her black laptop. The walls to the room were painted black, posters of all kinds cluttered the walls, drawings pinned op on the walls. The only light in the room came from the violet-blue lava lamp on her bedside table. The windows of the room were covered with black sheets.
This was her safe haven, she thought, as she walked over to her bed and laid down on top of the cover and sheets. She got most of her ideas for drawing by walking in the forest, but she didn't feel like it right now, so instead, she lay there, slipping slowly into her usual dark and dangerous dream.
