The wind kept messing up my hair. My feet were in the cold water and my eyes were locked on the bottle I just threw in the sea. I didn’t care if no one would find my letter. Just the feeling of my thoughts drowning in the sea made me feel better. A lot better. Just to know that there was a possibility that someone would find it, red the letter and know about it. On the other hand, it scared me, but I stayed with my decision. Drowning my thoughts in the sea was better than drowning in my own thoughts.

I came home from school and just made myself a cup of tea. I took seat at the dining table and looked through the different envelopes on the table, who were all for my parents. I sighed. I didn’t expect someone to write me back, but I kept hoping for it. I sipped from my tea and then I laid my eyes on another envelope on the other side of the table. Hopefully, I grabbed it. It had my name on it, in a very charming handwriting and with more stamps than usual. Butterflies came up in my belly and curiously, I opened the letter and I started to read.

Dear Kathi,
Boys are just stupid human beings. Don´t worry about them. They´re the weirdest creatures on this earth. They don´t even understand themselves. We´re insecure, but act like we think we´re cool. We let go of the ones we love for the ones we don´t love. Our mouth is bigger than our heart. We get jealous all the time and we can´t have it when someone insults us. But please, never be insecure about the fact that you´ve never had a boyfriend, because  boys are even more stupid when it comes to girls. Boys chase girls they know they can get. They´re too insecure to go after the most beautiful girl, because they´re scared she´ll turn him down. 
But believe me when I say that I´ve always wanted to be different from all these boys. I wanted to chase the most beautiful girl and win her heart. I want to prove myself and the world that I can do it. I just have never done it. 
Please stop worrying about not having a boyfriend and that you´ve never kissed before. I´d love to be a girl´s first love and her first kiss.

I didn´t expect a response like this. I didn´t expect a response at all. With trembling hands, I rang the number. I hesitated, but my curiosity was too big not to call him. I wanted to know who wrote me this letter. All I knew was his name. And I had to thank him for this. 
I heard the annoying beep and my heart beat faster with every beep I´ve heard. “Niall here,” I heard a voice saying on the other side of the phone. His voice was lovely, made my heart beat faster than it already did and I swear I heard a bit of an Irish accent. 
“Hello, it’s Kathi, from the letter,” I said, trying to make my voice sound as decent as possible.
“Really?!”
“Eh yeah, why would I lie about that?”
“I don’t know. I just didn’t expect you to call.”
“I didn’t expect you to write me back.”
“Of course I did! Every girl in this world deserves to know she’s beautiful. Especially girls like you.” My heart melted with every word he said. 
“Well, I just wanted to thank you. Your letter is really sweet,” I said, because I actually didn’t know what to say.
“Thank you for making me write it and for calling me back. If you decided not to call me back, I’d be waiting forever for that call.” I couldn’t help but smile.
“You wouldn’t. You’d forgotten about me within a week.” 
“No way! I’ve been constantly checking my phone the past few days. My friends even asked me if I was seeing someone.” Someone has been waiting for my call. Someone cared. Someone I didn’t even know, but it felt good.

I walked into the big hall at the airport. My suitcase was heavier than I thought and the nerves were running through my veins. Out of all these people, I had to find that one blonde boy. I took the picture he sent with me, but that wasn’t necessary. I have looked at the picture so many times that I knew it by heart. I had even counted the moles on his face. 
“Kathi !” I heard a voice shout. I recognized the voice as Niall’s. Immediately, I turned around. A blonde boy was waving at me. He was kind of small, but not too small. A beautiful smile adorned his face and he walked up to me. He wrapped his arms around me and pressed a small kiss on my  cheek. His lips were the softest lips I had ever felt. He only lips I had ever felt. “Nice to meet you, finally!” Niall said and he looked me in the eyes. His eyes were even more beautiful in real life than they were in the picture. You could drown in them. Just like I used to drown in my thoughts and how I drowned my thoughts in the sea. His eyes could be the sea. They were bright blue, with a little bit of green. I say his eyes coming closer. He leaned in and pressed his soft lips on mine. His hands were placed on my lower back and I moves my arms to his neck. Butterflies were flying around in my belly, the beat of my heart wasn’t human anymore and if Niall didn’t hold me, I’d probably flew away myself. When I opened my eyes again, Niall was smiling at me. His eyes were twinkling and his hand was looking for mine. “Thanks for making my dream come true,” Niall said softly. “Thanks for making me find the most beautiful girl in this world.” He squeezed my hand and leaned in again and at that moment I realized that two dreams had come true at the exact same moment.
