black satchels. They even have cameras slung over their shoulders.

Just what kind of study group is this?

“Hi!” Waves the blonde in my direction.

“‘Sup?” I nod.

“I’m Charlie and this is Lauren,” she motions to her brunette friend in the knee highs, who’s still looking around at the place.

“Rachel, you didn’t tell me you had such hot friends,” says Seth while throwing the bag filled with trash over his shoulder. I swear he has been working on that thing for the past thirty minutes, taking his sweet time loading it up when it would take anyone ten minutes max. Maybe less.

Rachel rolls her eyes and motions her friends towards her room. “Ignore them.”

“Who’s there?” Lucas calls from the bathroom.

“Rachel’s hot friends,” Seth calls back.

Lucas’s head peaks out from the room and he blows his bangs out of his eyes. “They’re hot?”

“Very,” I nod in agreement.

He rips the yellow gloves sticking to his arms off and tosses them in the sink and smiles down at the two girls, who are currently trying to contain their giggles behind their hands. Rachel shakes her head while crossing her arms.

“Why hello,” says Lucas, holding out a hand. “I’m Lucas.”

“Charlie,” says blondie while taking his hand.

“Lauren,” says the other.

“Rachel, you should have told us they were hot,” says Seth while elbowing Rachel in the ribs. “Hot girls are always invited.”

I nod. “Always.”

There’s another knock on the door and all our heads turn and watch while Rachel strides towards it. I expect there to be another, hoping for a redhead, but instead a wormy, skinny, weasel looking guy stands in the entrance. He smiles at Rachel and I instantly don’t like him. I don’t like the way he pushes up his black rimmed glasses, or the way he slinks into the apartment. He sticks close to Rachel, his hand brushing against hers and I fight the temptation to grab him and throw him up against the wall.

I turn to Seth, who is also eyeing this dude up and down, narrowing his gaze and cocking his head to the side. I notice Lucas crossing his arms and his expression darkening.

“Hi, I’m Josh,” he says with a slight wave, looking between us hesitantly before turning his gaze back to Rachel. “Sorry to intrude like this. I’m also having some problems coming up with a proper theme to the project.”

I hate the blush on her cheeks, the shuffle in her feet, and the way she seems to fluff out like a Pomeranian about to receive a treat. She flicks her hair behind her shoulder and smiles shyly up at him. “No problem. We should stick together right?”

Oh hell no you should not!

Josh looks around the room, dropping his bag from his shoulder down to his hand. “Where should I put my stuff?”

“We’ll just go to my room,” she motions towards her door.

That guy. In her room? No fucking way.

“Why don’t you study out here?” Asks Seth and I’m so glad he beat me to the punch. He nods to Lucas and they both grab an end of the couch, moving it back to make more space in the living room, revealing, embarrassingly, dust, crumbs, protein bar wrappers, and used condoms.

Rachel groans and smacks her forehead while I grab the mini broom and dustpan to sweep up the mess. Blondie and her brunette friend giggle behind a hand while four eyes grimaces at the mess. “I guess you weren’t wrong about those orgies,” blondie whispers to four-eyes as I walk pass her to dump the contents into the trash bag.

“Thanks, but I think we’d be better off in my room.”

“No, no, no,” says Seth, grabbing a cushion from the couch and throwing it down on the newly clean floor. “You’ve got your Gilmore-whatever here, easy access to some drinks.”

“But-“

“We’re pretty much finished,” I add, motioning around the room. I have to say, we did a fantastic job. The place nearly sparkles with all our efforts. Although, I’m quite interested to see what Lucas did with the bathroom. “We won’t be in your way.”

Rachel glances over to Lucas. “Please tell me the bathroom isn’t disgusting anymore?”

Lucas makes a face. “It’s… better.” He shrugs to the girls. “You can put your ass on the seat without worrying about it biting your cheeks off.”

Rachel looks up at the ceiling while the girls burst into laughter. “Duly noted,” says the brunette, still laughing while she grabs a cushion and sits down on the floor.

I scowl when I see four-eyes sitting next to Rachel, his leg accidentally bumping into hers. She chuckles nervously, but the bastard makes no effort in moving his leg. I lean against the counter, scowling down at them while I watch him lean in close over her shoulder. Seth and Lucas sidle up next to me.

“Who is that punk?” asks Lucas, nodding to whom I can only assume is four-eyes.

“I can’t remember his name,” says Seth, shaking his head.

“I hate him,” I mutter.

“He’s a grimy little weasel, now ain’t he?” Says Seth.

“You know, we might be able to get some more ideas by looking at some art,” I hear four-eyes say while blondie goes to the bathroom and the brunette goes to grab something from Rachel’s room.

Of course. Now that she’s alone he’s going to sink his claws into her.

“Oh?” Rachel’s innocence is really grating on my nerves. At times she can be a bossy, demanding little bitch and other times she reminds me of a lost puppy dog with not a single brain cell going on in that pretty little head of hers.

Mr. Four Eyes is definitely a creep, yet the way she looks at him it’s like she doesn’t even see it.

“Yeah, we could check out the art museum this Saturday. Get a few ideas. Maybe go for coffee afterwards.”

Hells to the fuck no. She’s not going to any of that shit. Just when she opens her mouth, I blurt out, “Rachel’s going to the football game on Saturday.”

Four-eyes pops up his head, meeting my stare and I feel Seth and
