Raven walks towards us. “Hannah’s awake,” she says and I smile gratefully. She's been helping me out with Hannah and Molly. “Just a heads up, that girl you found at Cobra’s, turns out she’s Lake’s sister.”
“No fucking way,” says Blade.
I smirk over at him. “Shit, brother, you fucked Lake's sister,” I say and Blade’s face pales.
“Well. let's keep that between us,” he snaps. “Ain’t nobody gonna benefit from knowing that shit.”
“You can finish up here,” I say. “Then I’ll keep my mouth shut.”
I go back inside to check on Hannah. Gia hasn’t been near me since we made love this morning and she went off in a mood, but she’s right in front of me now and I stop. “You still moody?” I ask. It was the wrong thing. She scowls and moves past me. Whatever.
Hannah is still in bed, but she’s sitting up with the curtains open. “Hey,” I smile, sitting on the bed next to her. She lays her head against my shoulder.
“Has he been caught yet?” she asks, her voice is croaky.
“He’s dead,” I say bluntly, bracing myself for a grilling.
“Good” is all she says. “I have to tell Molly.”
“We can do it together, when you’re ready,” I say, taking her hand in my own. “You’re not alone.”
“I feel alone,” she whispers, her voice breaking.
“You’ll always have me and Gia and everyone else at the club, you’re one of us now,” I say, kissing her on the head.
When I go to bed, I’m relieved to see Gia curled up asleep. She might be mad at me, but she knows where she belongs. I slip out of my clothes and climb in beside her, pulling her against me. She lets me, snuggling against my chest. I know she feels it, the pull between us. Tomorrow, we need to set a date so I can take it back to my father.
Light streams in through a gap in the curtains. My morning erection is buried deep in Gia and it takes me a second to realise she’s on top of me, smiling down. “Morning,” she whispers.
“What a way to wake up,” I say, gripping her waist and thrusting up.
“You always take over,” she pants.
“That’s why you love me,” I say, tweaking her nipples.
“I do,” she whispers. “Love you,” she adds.
“I know you do,” I say confidently. “That’s why we’re getting married next week.” She freezes, but I don’t let it stop me chasing the orgasm that's building inside of me. “You can keep sulking about it or you can be happy and plan what you can in a week. Either way, it’s happening.”
“You haven’t even asked me. I don’t have a ring anymore.”
I groan, lifting her from me and gripping my shaft in my hand. I move my hand back and forth to finish myself off because I’m not wearing a condom. I come on a roar, coating my stomach. Gia stares down at me. “Sorry,” I mutter, shrugging. “You were too busy talking. You want me to finish—” I wave my hand towards her and she rolls her eyes.
“No, forget it. You put me off with your little announcement.”
“I’m thinking Friday,” I say, grabbing a towel from the side of my bed and wiping myself.
“You haven’t even asked me,” she snaps.
“I have,” I say, frowning. “I told you loads of times you were mine. I gave you a ring.”
“Ricardo took your ring,” she snaps. “And you never asked me, you told me!” I watch as she gets dressed. “I’m meeting my mum and Vinn for lunch today. I have to go.”
“It’s only ten o’clock,” I say.
“I need to get some clothes. I can’t wear your stuff for dinner,” she snaps.
I sit up. “Let me take you home,” I say.
“Don’t bother,” she snaps. “You’re acting like an ass, Blu. You’ve just assumed I’ll be a blushing bride on your arm. Christ, what you just did there, is that what I have to look forward to?”
I wince. “Sorry babe, you were talking and I couldn’t hold it off any longer. I can-” I try to offer again but she scowls deeper.
“Forget it. You need to work on your kindness skills, as well as your shit fucking proposal because newflash, Blu, you don’t order someone to marry you in a weeks time while your balls deep inside them. It’s enough to turn anyone off - apart from yourself, obviously!” She storms out, slamming the door behind her.
I flop back on the bed, groaning. “Shit.”
Chapter Twenty-Four
GIA
When I woke up next to Blu, I realised I am happy. It doesn’t matter that he hasn’t officially asked me because he makes me happy and being petty over a question is ridiculous. But then he woke up and ruined it with his arrogance.
Vinn’s driver stops outside and I get in the car. I must look a sight in Blu’s sweater with nothing on my feet.
I get home and I shower and dress for lunch. Mum’s coming straight from the airport and Vinn’s meeting her, so I head to the restaurant alone. It’ll be weird being there without Dad, but I try not to think about it as I’m greeted by the manager my mum hired. He smiles wide. “Gianna,” he greets, kissing me on each cheek. He’d worked at Dad’s other restaurant for years, but Mum asked him to take over here for a while until she decides what she wants to do. “Vinn and your mother are already here,” he adds, showing me to our table.
My mum hugs me extra hard. “Thank god you’re okay,” she whispers.
“And you,” I say, kissing her cheek. “How was Spain?”
“Nice and peaceful. Too peaceful. Aunt Ella sends her love.” My mum’s sister lives out there permanently.
“Where’s Blu?” asks Vinn.
“I didn’t invite him,” I snap. “I wanted a break from the plans you made behind my back.”
Vinn scowls. “Are you kidding me?” he snaps. “You realise what he did for you?”
