Is this lady serious? Micah thought. He trusted Ahmey to the extent that he could trust someone he didn’t know very well. Yet this new nun seemed like she had the potential to be more trouble than she was worth. As for now it was just a hunch, Micah not sure of how we should interpret the slip of her tongue.
“It was in good faith,” Yuri said, challenging Saru. “They’ve never been given anything; most civilians haven’t unless they join your ranks. It is a sign of what you are willing to do, and that you are committed to this coup and change for society as a whole.”
“Perhaps… you are right.” Saru ran her hand through her short gray hair, the look on her face telling Micah that she didn’t quite believe them, yet she wasn’t looking to fight it. “I believe I spoke out of turn. I’m sorry, Ahmey. I am as passionate about this as you are, you know that.”
“I know,” the young nun told her. “And three seats are fine.”
“And you’re sure about this?”
“I am.”
“Julia needs confirmation from you, their leader,” Liza told Ahmey. “Once she has confirmation, she will begin preparations.”
“I’m prepared to give that now.”
“Choro, can you connect me with Julia, wherever she may be?” Liza asked aloud.
“Sure, it may take me a second…” Choro replied.
It was a few minutes later that Liza set before Ahmey, the young nun confirming that the Hermetics would have three seats for their assistance.
With everything set, all that was left for them to do was for them to prepare for tomorrow, which the ninjas took to mean training, and Liza took to mean sitting with Ahmey and Saru as they discussed how the meeting would happen tomorrow, once again going with the notion that moving just before the High Council’s lunch hour was the best option.
Torn between going with the ninjas and being part of the strategizing, Micah chose to be a tactician. It was important for him to know what was going on, and while he could provide some ballistics support for the ninjas, his role was likely going to be in holding people at gunpoint and seeing to any disruptions they may encounter within the meeting room itself.
And staying alive.
Because through all of this, Micah couldn’t shake Youseg’s prophecy. The comic writer turned monk or vice versa had foreseen his death. And of all things, Micah couldn’t let that happen, not this late in the game, not this close to a potentially satisfactory conclusion after the way his life was turned upside down upon Yuri’s arrival.
The nun named Saru ended up staying to enjoy a late afternoon meal, and along with Ahmey and Liza, they continued their discussions on what would happen the next day. They also gave out assignments. Much to his surprise, Micah was told he would be stationed outside the inner chamber, along with Yuri, Liza, and Bunni, leaving Soraya to join Ahmey as her personal guard.
Micah hadn’t really thought of how they would be situated at the start of all of this, but he figured he would be one of the ones on the inside, rather than helping to ward off enemy nuns and monks. On one hand, he felt proud that he had been elevated to this role, but on the other he was slightly worried that he wasn’t qualified for it, that he would be better on the inside. In the end it made sense, especially with Soraya knowing the mind control mantra, which they said from the start may or may not work on some of the more seasoned members of the High Council.
Everyone seemed to relax a little bit once Saru left, all aside from Ahmey, who maintained her diplomatic poise. While she was only a teenager, she had the demeanor of someone in their forties, a mature statesperson, Micah having thus found not a single crack in her façade. She really was who she seemed to be.
Retiring early that night, Micah was just about to step into the room with Yuri when he felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned to find Bunni with her arms crossed over her chest, a playful look in her eyes.
“I think we need to cool off.”
“Not another sauna trip,” he joked.
“I know, that would be great though, wouldn’t it? No, I mean a little one-on-one time. I don’t know about you, but I have some nerves to get out for tomorrow. Actually, I already sort of got them out.”
“Wait… you did?”
“Lying, I didn’t, which is why I need you. He’s mine tonight,” she called into the room, Yuri laughing at the way Bunni announced this. Soraya pressed past them, her tail lightly touching Micah’s arm she did so. He expected to see Liza as well, but knew she was already in her room, the door shut.
“In that case, lead the way.” Micah had been in enough sexual encounters with his wives and those around him to know that they could be spontaneous and all unique in their own ways. He expected there to be some conversation with Bunni, some downtime or something to set the mood. But this didn’t turn out to be the case.
The Plains Dweller pulled him off into a darkened room, the light coming on and revealing a dozen or so glowing lanterns hanging from the ceiling.
“What is this place?” Micah asked as he looked up to the lights.
“The meditation room. Perfect for this.”
“Isn’t this kind of blasphemous?”
“Ha!” She began kissing him, her hand instantly going to his bulge.
Her kisses grew more passionate as Micah’s hand traveled down small of her back, and from there to the top of her ass. Initiating everything this time around, for that matter, most times around when it came to the Plains Dweller, Bunni eventually lowered to her
