near her, you’re gonna tell me right here and now that if she lets you in, you’re gonna keep the both of them safe.”

I don’t miss the deepening of his frown at my words. He doesn’t know. Good, by the time he gets to her, he’ll have it figured out.

Turning on my heel, I head back to the picnic table with Mitchell and Samuel. “If you’re gonna go up on the hill with my girl, grab a water out of the cooler. She needs to stay hydrated with the way she’s been feeling. The other two of you grab a beer and join us at the tables, we’re about to play some poker.”

Chapter Three

Malice

On the ride from the clubhouse to Willow’s grandfather’s place, I thought of nothing else but getting to her, putting her ass on the back of my bike, and haulin’ ass back home.

Now stalking across the yard to where I notice her form laying on the ground, I have to fight the need of fallin’ on top of her and sinking my cock deep inside her.

Not only that, but the old man’s words filter through my head about me hurting Willow. I don’t get how the hell I can hurt her when I’ve done my best to keep away from her. Then the other part of his words about keeping them both safe. What the fuck did he mean by that shit?

Making my way up to the top of the hill, I glower down at her.

“Why are you laying on the ground without a blanket or something under you?” I growl in frustration, noticing what she’s wearing. Small cloth-style shorts, a tank top, and no shoes.

My cock throbs at the sight of her, but my mind beats back the thought of taking what I’m deeming mine here and now.

Without moving, Willow finally speaks up as I get closer. “What are you doing here?” she asks instead of answering me.

“Came to drag your ass back home where you belong. You left without a word and no one knew where the fuck you were until Avery got your fuckin’ letter. Wanna tell me what that’s about?” I demand, placing my hands on my hips.

“Not really. Besides, this is home,” she whispers, still not moving her gaze from the sky. “And for the record, laying on the ground is way better without a blanket or anything. Grass makes its own blanket of softness if you let it.”

“Whatever you say, Dewdrop,” I grumble and move to sit next to her. Seated, I reach over for her and maneuver her until I have her situated in my lap, her legs on either side of me. Sliding my hands to her ass I cup each cheek within my palm, enjoying the feel of her closeness. By holding her like this it also keeps her from escaping my grasp. “Tell me why you wrote a fuckin’ letter and disappeared. Did you not think for one fuckin’ minute there would be people hurt that you left without so much as a motherfuckin’ goodbye?”

“It’s none of your concern why I left, now let me go and leave. I don’t even know why you’re here to begin with. It’s not like you like me anyway,” she snaps but the tears filling her gaze are a dead giveaway to her emotions.

“Dewdrop, you don’t know a damn thing about what I think when it comes to you,” I mutter, pulling her even tighter to me. In this position, her face is close enough to mine I could easily slip my tongue out and into hers.

“Malice, you need to let me go,” she whispers breathlessly.

“Not until you tell me why the hell you left,” I demand.

“Let me go.” This time she closes her eyes as she sucks in a deep breath.

“Not gonna happen, Willow. Now fuckin’ start talkin’.” I’m gonna get my way and she’s gonna tell me.

Willow shakes her head and blows my mind at the same time. “I left because of you. You’ve made it very clear you want nothing to do with me. But I couldn’t be around you and have you treat me like I’m completely invisible. Not after what we did.”

“Baby,” I rasp, not able to get another word out because now that she’d started talking, she wasn’t stopping.

“I’d come home because I needed to be somewhere away from you but also to figure out how to tell you something extremely important. I’d never have kept it from you because it’s your right to know,” she stammers.

Know what?

“I found out several days before leaving I was pregnant. In fact, that day, I went to the clubhouse but left immediately after seeing you and one of those women.” My entire body goes still at her words.

Pregnant?

I only fucked her the one time; I took her virginity without even realizing she’d been a virgin.

Are you fuckin’ kidding me?

Is the world out to hand me a load of shit right about now?

What the fuck am I gonna do now?

That night I did something I never fuckin’ do. I took her without a condom on needing to feel her bare against my cock. Now I’ve fucked up big time.

If my family were to find out this shit, they’d take Willow and the kid. They’d hold her hostage until the kid arrived and then either sell her off or kill her. If the kid were a boy, he’d be raised to be the next head of the Thyne name. If it were a girl, my bitch of a mother would have it raised to marry someone my father deemed worthy of being with a Thyne. It would live in hell the way I did until I escaped it all.

Fuck. Fuck. Motherfuckin’ fuck.

I can’t let that shit happen. Not only because it’s my kid, but this is my woman.

My woman?

Yeah, she’s my fuckin’ woman. I’m an idiot for pushing her away. I’m an even bigger idiot for allowing that clubwhore to touch me the day she’s
