Didn’t realize at the time it’d push her to leave fuckin’ home. Leave the women she’s friends with. Leave without telling me about my kid she’s now carrying.
Fuck me, I’m gonna be a dad and I don’t even know if I can be a good enough parent considering the family I came from.
Without a word to Willow, I lift her off my lap, stand, and start to pace on the hill, becoming pissed off by the minute. But also scared shitless at all that could possibly happen.
“Let me get this straight, you came to the clubhouse to tell me you’re pregnant, saw me with some other bitch, left and then fuckin’ left town without a word. You might have said you wouldn’t have kept this shit from me, but right fuckin’ now, I don’t fuckin’ believe you. You left for your own selfish reasons, not worrying about telling me a goddamn motherfuckin’ thing,” I snarl, my words harsh and completely filled with anger. “Shit, you probably intended for me to knock your ass up. It’s why you let me fuck you in the first place.”
“You did not just say that,” she gasps. I ignore the tears welling in her eyes at my angry words.
“Damn right, I did. You wanted to trap yourself a biker and have him take care of you. Only you didn’t get what you wanted, did you?”
Willow stands from where she’d been sitting after I took her off my lap. Arms across her chest, pushing her tits nearly out of that fuckin’ small as hell top. “You know nothing about me. Or what I think. But as always, you’re going to act like a big, fat, giant jerk. Think what you want. Go home and leave me alone. I didn’t ask you to come here and I don’t need your hatred. If you want to be a part of your child’s life, then fine, but don’t come near me until that day.”
With that, Willow uncrosses her arms and makes a break for it rushing down the hill and to the house. My anger still fuming. I don’t say another word as I watch her rush into her grandfather’s house.
Fuck me.
This shit just got even messier.
However, it will probably be for the best I leave her alone. I’m not the man for her. No matter how much I want to say she’s my woman. She’ll always be that, but now, with a kid involved, this might be the only way to protect them both—by keeping her away from me.
Stalking down the hill, I move to the picnic table my brothers are sitting at with Willow’s grandfather and his buddies.
“See you decided to hurt my baby girl,” he grumbles, not looking up from the cards in his hand.
“Seems so. I’m getting out of here. Do me a favor. Keep her safe and if anything happens, call the club. I’ll take care of them, but I can’t be in their lives. I won’t risk it,” I growl, not saying another word. I’d already said enough.
I don’t wait for a response from anyone else. Instead, I turn on my heel and head for the front where my bike is parked.
Straddling my girl, I start her up with a thundering roar, rev the throttle, and push the kickstand up.
This is for the best. No matter how much I want her to be mine. I might have said consequences be damned when it comes to my family, but that was before a kid became involved. I’ll never be the parent he or she needs—they’re better off without me.
Doesn’t matter that leaving Willow behind means me leaving my soul behind with her. It’s what I gotta do in order to keep them safe from those who’d see them hurt.
Or worse, killed.
Chapter Four
Willow
Touching my overly rounded stomach, I sit on the porch swing with a glass of tea in my hand. It’s been nearly eight months since I’d told Malice when he’d come to my grandfather’s farm to do whatever he was here to do. He’d left that same night shortly after I left him standing on my hill and has not contacted me since.
I thought about reaching out, but every time I do, I can’t bring myself to do so. He hurt me with his words, saying I’d only wanted to trap him. Like I’d given up my virginity to get him to stay with me. I’m not that type of person.
Over the past so many months, my grandpa let me work from here. I took over the books for him so he could focus on everything else with the farm work. I offered to help with everything, but he’d put his foot down, saying it won’t be safe. That I needed to look out for the little one I’m carrying.
Well, little ones considering Malice didn’t just get me pregnant with one child, no, he’d given me three. I’m lucky to have gotten this far in my pregnancy without going into labor yet. To say, when my doctor told me I was carrying three, I wanted to pass out.
She’s made sure I was seen weekly to keep an eye on the progress and to make sure I wasn’t overdoing anything.
How can I do that when I have my grandpa hovering over me and the wives of his friends helping. I did find the courage to at least reach out to Avery and Quinn, though I didn’t talk to them about the pregnancy although I’m sure they know about it.
Resting my feet on the stool in front of me, I slowly push the swing back and forth, savoring the warmth of the day. The holidays passed and winter turned to spring once again, and today is such a beautiful day.
My grandpa left the other day to
