abilities and predestined position as the future Queen from him later. Right now, his entire being focused on Kaily and needing her to be okay. He wouldn't accept anything less and he wouldn't forgive himself if she wasn't. It was his fault she was in her current condition. It was his failure for not protecting her.

As time passed, Moto began to pace.

Shimani stepped aside to given him room.

What was taking so long?

Moto turned his attention to the clearing. If Kaily did this, what was he going to do with her? How could he help her control that kind of power? He trained Shimani, and entertained the thought he could train Kaily too, but how? Shimani didn't possess the ability to harness that much energy. He himself didn't possess that much ability. Neither did Queen Shakti, and if any of the Kahoali could possess that kind of ability, it would have been the Queen.

He observed Queen Shakti use her powers on occasion, and it was impressive when she did, but nothing like the energy it would take to do that much damage. None of the Kahoali possessed that kind of ability. Even he with all the abilities that he developed would be hard pressed to gather the amount of energy from Ki to wield that kind of power.

How could no one else have felt it? Moto stopped pacing and turned to Sari as he heard her thoroughly curse. He hadn't heard the like from Sari, not even when he made her particularly mad at something he did, both as a youth or adult. He knew it was an indication that something was seriously wrong.

"What?" He asked. He knelt by Kaily on the opposite side despite Sari's instructions to give her room to work. He refrained from repeating his demand, barely. Losing his temper with Sari, who was trying to help, wouldn't be good for any of them.

Sari's eyes met his. "I need to separate her from her talisman."

"So, what's the problem?" Moto asked as he tried to hold back panic. Sari didn't curse; ever, and she didn't panic, ever. He could feel panic rising in Sari now.

"I can feel it here." Sari said as she glanced at her hand hovering at the apex of Kaily's center between her hips.

Moto frowned. "I didn't feel the talisman anywhere on her."

"I think," Sari took a deep breath, "I think it's inside her."

"What?" Moto and Shimani said in unison. Shimani knelt beside Sari. "Are you absolutely certain?" Shimani asked Sari.

Moto glanced from Shimani to Sari. "How can her talisman be inside her?" He asked.

Sari raised an eyebrow at him. "Do I really need to answer that question?"

Moto looked away. "No."

"Guess that was one way to keep it hidden." Shimani said.

Sari and Moto glared at him.

Sari turned her attention back to Moto. "I don't have time to give a full explanation. Just know that I must separate Kaily from her talisman, the sooner the better. And it is not going to be pleasant." Sari said. "To say the least," she said under her breath.

"Can't I just reach in and grab it?" Moto asked with a frown. He didn't see what the problem was other than Kaily putting it there in the first place. What had she been thinking?

Sari shook her head. "I need you to hold her down, both of you." She held out her hand and a cloth and pouch appeared. "I need one of you to brace her head and upper body, and the other to hold her legs."

Moto frowned but moved to hold Kaily down by her shoulders and braced her head between his knees. He nodded once to Shimani who would take the task of holding her legs down.

"Hold her still," Sari instructed them both as she looked first to Shimani and then Moto. "She can't be allowed to move, at all."

Shimani and Moto nodded their understanding.

"No matter what happens don't let go of your hold." Sari looked at Moto. "I need to do this fast enough that she won't have time to retaliate."

Moto's frown deepened, but he nodded again and took a firmer hold. He could tell from Sari's tone he wouldn't like what she was about to do. He wasn't sure what Sari meant by retaliate. What could Kaily do? She was unconscious. From Sari's tone, she must think Kaily could still lash out and the only way that would be possible was through the energy of Ki. Moto closed his eyes a brief moment, took a deep breath, and braced himself.

Sari spread Kaily's thighs apart and pulled up the hem of her dress enough so she could position her hand just a few inches from Kaily's opening. Sari must have removed Kaily's underclothing, because she was exposed.

Moto was not happy about it, but he refrained from comment. He did, however, spare Shimani a warning glare. It was a consolation that Shimani's usual amusement at life was replaced with an understanding of just how serious the situation was.

Shimani positioned himself so he could hold Kaily's legs, so they remained apart and pressed to the ground, while he stayed out of Sari's way.

"Ready?" Sari asked both, Moto and Shimani.

"Yes" They both replied in unison.

The cloth covered Sari's hand. She focused her attention on Kaily. Moto felt the sharp intake of energy. Sari took a deep breath. "Forgive me." She said. Before Moto could ask her what she meant by that he felt the rapid release of energy followed by Kaily's bloodcurdling scream. Kaily thrashed about and struggled to break free of their hold on her. Moto felt a brief intake of energy and knew it came from Kaily.

"Hold her!" Sari said without looking at either him or Shimani.

Both, he and Shimani were hard pressed to hold Kaily down. Sari's held Kaily's talisman. She covered it up, but not before Moto saw the blood and tissue that covered it. Before Kaily could release the small amount of energy she was able to draw in, Sari set the talisman on the ground and
