Broken Bottels

The draft seems cold today
under blankets you left on blank pages
girls and there ribbons
distressed bottles come up for air
with unsigned notes
with no one to read them

You my friend
a melody in my afternoon song I humm
I am humming
not sure how to escape
but I guess we were always escaping
so we pour lemonade
and everything will be fine

it all runs down the drain she says
he doesn’t seem to mind.
maybe it has me running

I build another sand castle wall
and hop on my sail boat again.

A thousand more oceans she says.
the water isn’t empty
and the past is so angry
the future is calling
fear treads all her mistakes.

so I hide under blankets
and its cold
like coffe cups and morning conversation

Replaced with kings and aces

it all runs down the drain she says
he doesn’t seem to mind.
maybe it has me running

fear is the seine
and you are the excuse

I left behind.

so bury the treasure with me one last time

the water isn’t empty
and the past is so angry
the future is calling
distressed bottles come up for air
addressed to you.

Frog On My tongue

Did you know I listen to Tori Amos
And lay on the sand just to hear the ocean
And life is to short for revenge
Because God is the one who owns the lightning bolts
And I figure If I loved you it wouldn’t make a difference
Love comes and goes like Sid and Nancy’s days
Maybe, Just maybe I have the Bonnie and Clyde attitude
But it always sounded fun to rob a bank
And I feel…
I feel
That yesterday brought me up
Grew me strong
I take a bow wait for the applause
The audience grows weary
On bent knees I stand
Holding my violin
So…
I think of him every night
As I lay alone in my jammies
What is it you know?
I break for freedom
Knock off the dead wait of fools gold
I hold in my pockets lined with small holes
What can I do with pretending anyway
So I sit here in the rain
Smile on my face
Loving you
Even though with me
You can’t ever come home
