I remember the house,the garden,
I remember the dawn and the dusk,
I remember trees full of fruit and flowers,
I remember birds eating from your hand,
I remember your dog playing happily
while you and I laughed...
I remember your hands on the keynotes,
playing softly old ballads...
Memories of childhood never fade,
they always stay with us...
Memories.
Life at the other side of the river,
images of childhood,
time we shared happily,
for we were immortal.
Gardens in the dusk,
daisies in bloom,
shadows of life to come
messages of other times.
Circles in old sites,
towers in the distance,
life as we used to have,
words whispered in the wind,
sounds echoing in our past.
Echoes.Echoes in the garden,
echoes of our voices
time as we used to know,
time as we understood.
Life stretching before us,
nothing asked ,a lot shared.
Time and childhood,
two entities not to be fooled.
If only we had known,
if only we had foreseen
our time was but short...
Life unfolds without mercy
your dear presence still looms
over the shrubs left to grow
in a now deserted garden.
Rooms.
Rooms onto the garden,
curtains in the windows,
potted plants on the window sill
the sounds of fountains and children.
The barking of faithful dogs,
the roaring of your motorcycle.
Our time together,our lives apart
the house of our childhood
we saw many sunsets
but we never got to see
a single rainbow,
a leprechaum,
a four leaf clove,
a dawn together...
Too many partings,
and not even one beginning.
Alfred.
The sound of the piano
in the afternoon,
the sound of bees
in the garden,
the sound of your voice
in my memories,
my time and yours
lost in a garden.
I wish I could back,
see you as you once were,
before life changed us
and we became grownups.
Books and an electric train,
a playroom no one uses,
Autumm has settled in
I wander among memories,
and gaze upon your face
as I remember it.
,
Time.
Time shields all, dust rests on all,
only the sun can bring life again,
make years become kinder,
memories not so piercing,
past loves sweeter and hates milder.
Only Light can shine again,
declare death beaten to the ground,
restore love and erase hate.
Only Light can make us anew,
bathed in kindness and out of pain.
In search of that Light I walk,
the path has never been harder,
I despair to find the thread
to the elusive centre of the maze.
Still,I go on ,the path is not to run
but to walk ,starting from our garden
to wherever our call takes us.
You and I seemed friends long ago
in a garden full of daisies.
We seemed friends and yet werenΒ΄t so
in a house full of secrets.
You and I were to grow apart,
to see life and yet distrust it
You and I were born wild
and time tamed us madly.
There were no goodbyes between us,
only memories of a garden.
