on around me. I walked out of the bathroom and into my bedroom and then crashed on the bed.

The next day I woke up to the sun blaring in my face from the window that was wide open. I looked at the bathroom and the light was still on. I was naked, tangled in a towel and sheets in my bed. I looked at the clock and it read 2:26 P.M. Shit. I thought to myself. I jumped out of bed covering myself with the white sheet. I walked into my bathroom and gasped. My hair was a train wreck. It was still wet when I fell asleep. I took the brush and made my hair look presentable. I walked back into my room and grabbed underwear, jeans, a bra, a pink short sleeved shirt and socks. When I got dressed I put my converse on and snatched my sunglasses, keys and wallet on the way out of my apartment.

My best friend, Lila, was at the restaurant when I arrived for a late lunch. It was an outside table with an umbrella. I was still wearing my sunglasses when I sat down on a white metal chair across from her. “Glad you could make it.” She says. Her hair was black and long. She was wearing a shirt and vest, hippie styled, blue jeans and sandals. A waiter came with two menus and some iced water. I took off my sun glasses. “You like hell, sis.” She implied.
“You have no idea.” I said looking at the menu, starved.
“So how was your sister wedding?” She asked looking up from her menu.
“Good, until I danced with the groom, Milo.”
“What happened, sweetie?” she looked at me with interest.
“I was shaky and he calmed me down in a soothing voice. Kind of turned me on actually. ”
“What’s so bad about that?”
“Nothing it’s that I’ve liked this guy since childhood, and then once he and Rachael got into high school they started dating.” Lila gasped.
“NO!”
“YES! I’m a terrible person, but he’s so handsome.” I slipped into daydream thinking about him being with me instead of my sister, Rachael.
“Hey!” I snapped out of my daydream. “Welcome back to the real world. I mean you don’t have much of a chance with him now that he’s married to you sister for crying out loud. If he wasn’t married to your sister, then you would have a chance. But you don’t!” Lila did have a point; I have no chance with Milo now that chance was already taken years ago.
“Damn! I hate when you’re right.” I said.
“There are plenty of other fish in the sea my friend.” She looked at the menu again and so did I. A waiter came along and was ruggedly handsome; he had dark hair and dark mysterious eyes that are to die for. “Are you ready to order now?” he asked Lila. She nods to him. “Okay. What will it be for you ladies today?”
“I’ll have a cheeseburger and fries with a chocolate shake.” Lila said handing him her menu.
“And you miss?” he looked at me.
“Same, but can I get a Dr. Pepper with that?” I said.
“Sure you can. Will that be everything?”
“Yes, thank you.” Lila said and he took my menu and left. “You could be going out with him if you weren’t so into Milo.” She says.
“Yeah, I know, he’s cute and he has a nice ass.” I looked over where he was taking somebody else’s order. Lila and I laughed.
“I couldn’t agree more.” Misery Love its Company- Quinn's POV

I was putting a couple things in my suitcase for my trip to Mexico. While stuffing last few things in the suitcase my phone started ringing from my jacket pocket. I scooped out from my pocket and looked at who was calling. It was my mom, I answered it. “Mom, what’s up?” I zipped up my suitcase and pulled the handle up.
“It’s Rachael and Milo. There are in the hospital!” She was frantic.
“What happened?”
“Hurry please.”
“I’m on my way.” I hung up the phone. I opened the door and ran down the hall of the apartment complex. I raced to the lobby and out the doors into the parking lot. I ran to my car and opened it. I put my keys in the ignition and the car roared when I turned the ignition on. I drove out of the parking lot, speeding to the hospital.
When I got to the hospital I ran to the receptions desk. “Is Rachael Garner here?” The receptionist was typing on the computer and she looks at me.
“No.” I was confused then I realized her last name was different.
“What about Rachael Andrews?” I said frantically.
“Yes, she is in the ER right now.”
“Thank you.” I walked into the waiting room and I see my mom, my dad, and Marie Andrews, Milo’s mother. My dad spotted me and he walks to me and gives me a hug. My eyes started to well up. I let go of my dad and my mom was standing near him and I hugged her and she hugged me back. I let go of her and walked toward Marie and she looked down at her feet. I hugged her and she hesitantly hugged me back.
“I hope my son gets through and Rachael especially.” she says into my ear. I laid my head on her shoulder and I started to cry more. I let go of her and she wipes my tears away. We all sat down on the chairs except for my dad and we waited.
After awhile a doctor came out into the waiting room. My mother stood up and so did Marie while I was still sitting. “How are they doctor?” My mother says eagerly.
“Milo is fine, he is sleeping right now.” I felt relieved.
“What about Rachael?” My mother asks again. I got this knot in my stomach when she asked about Rachael.
“She lost a lot of blood and she didn’t make it. I’m sorry for your loss Mrs. Garner.” The doctor left the waiting room. My mom started crying, she almost fell to her knees but my dad grabbed her from behind and they both land onto the ground on their knees. My mom cried hard and my dad’s arms were wrapped around her chest and he had laid his head against her back. I stood up and walked out of the hospital and then I stopped ion front of the entrance. I fell to my knees and I threw up a little bit. I wrapped my arms around my waist, holding my stomach in pain, crying. I cried hard, almost screaming at the ground. I sat up straight, bringing my feet from under my thighs, bringing them in front of me as I leaned against a cement beam. I wiped off the saliva that was on my lips with my jacket sleeve. I covered my mouth with my hand and cried so hard that I almost wanted to pass out or puke some more.

After awhile I went back inside the hospital and into the waiting room. My mother was sitting down next to my dad with his arm around her shoulders. I didn’t see Marie anywhere.
I walked back to the receptionist desk. “What room is Milo Andrews in?” I asked.
“You family?”
“Yeah.” she typed in a few buttons.
“Room 2121.”
“Thank you.” I walked away from the receptionist and headed down a hallway. I walked another long hallway and turned and saw Marie looking into a window staring at Milo sleeping. I see the way you look at him.” I looked down.
“You gonna tell him?” I asked.
“No, that is for you to tell him if you really want him to know.”
“Milo is the most caring guy I’ve ever met.”
“He’s like his father in that way. After Steve died, I gave up everything to take care my son. And I don’t regret a damn thing for it. Milo changed my life when he was in high school. And he did that with you and Rachael.” I looked at Milo through the window. “Someone needs to tell him what happened when he wakes up.”
“I will, you go home and sleep. I’ll give you a call when he’s awake.” Marie nods and she leaves.
I enter into the room and sat in the chair next to the hospital bed. “Milo..... I don’t know f you can hear me right now but I just wanted to say that I’m hear for you.” Tears started to fall from my eyes. I grabbed his hand and stroked it with my thumb. “I’m hear for you, I car for you. I would do anything for........ I love you.” I whispered in tears. I stood up and kissed him on the cheek and then I sat back down. I laid my head down on the bed and closed my eyes.

Misery Loves its Company Part 2- Milo's POV

I was driving Rachael and I to the airport for our honeymoon at night. While I was paying attention to the road, she was telling me about all her favorite places in Brazil. “There’s a restaurant I went to as a kid over there and they had the best pizza and Mexican food.” She says to me.
“Oh yeah.” I said. I looked at her then back at the road.
“We’re going to have a fantastic time, Milo. Trust me?” she says looking at me.
“Have I ever doubted you?” I asked while I chuckled.
“No!” I looked at her and gave her a kiss. “I love you.” She says to me.
“I love you too.” Rachael looked at the road.
”Milo!” she yelled as a truck came toward us. I stomped on the brakes and the truck crashed into us and made the car flip over. I closed my eyes when the trucks crashed into us. I opened my eyes and me and Rachael were hanging from are seatbelts. My hands touched the hood of the car.
“Rachael……” I didn’t hear her respond. “Rachael……” I said a little louder but still no answer. “Rachael!” I yelled but my voice strained when yelling.
