“Did I do or say anything stupid?”
“Yeah you did.” I sat on the bed next to her. “You wouldn’t give me your car keys after asking you several times and you did something stupid.”
“I’m sorry” I exclaimed.
“There’s more” I was afraid of what else I had done to Quinn. “While we were on the ground, you turned me over onto my back and…… and you kissed me.” Quinn looks at me and then down at her hands again.
“I kissed you?” I felt embarrassed but she seemed more and embarrassed to tell me.
“Yeah, you did.” Did I like it? I was thinking out loud. “You were pretty hammered when you did it.” I thought to myself and then opened my mouth.
“Did you like it?”
“Is that a trick question or something?”
“No, I really want to know how you felt when I kissed you.”
“It was until I realized that you were drunk and you wouldn’t remember jack shit of it and it wouldn’t mean anything to you.”
“So you did like it?” I was pushing her to tell me how she really felt about me and I wanted to hear it come from her and nobody else.
“Yeah, I guess but like I said you wouldn’t have remembered it and it wouldn’t really mean anything to you then.” I looked at her realizing what she told me. I thought real hard of what I was going to do next. I got closer to her and she almost wanted to get away from me but she couldn’t move any father up the bed because the headboard was in her way.
“Can I try something if you trust me?” I asked politely.
“I trust you.” She seemed a bit nervous. I held her cheek and she felt shaky.
“Just relax” I say to her calmly. I leaned in closer to her and then I kissed her. I never realized that I would like this but I did and I knew she liked it too. It seemed like time was slowing down. She then pulls away from me.
“Why did you do that?” She amazes me with the questions she asks.
“I want it to mean something.” She let me pull her back in my grasp. A few moments pass, then I pulled back, “Can I just ask one question?” I said. She nods ‘yes’. “Do you know how I got this bruise on my cheek?” I kind of laughed at the question. She smiles at me.
“You aggravated me last night, we’ll just leave it at that.” she says. I nod back at her and she pulls me in. I felt like I couldn’t stop kissing her, she’s like a drug to me. I went down and started kissing her neck. “Damn it! I need to pick up my car from Tooley’s.” she says while I was still kissing her neck. I stopped kissing her neck and then looked her.
“Your car can wait.” I smiled at her and she giggled. I laid my head on her chest hearing her heart beat. She tangled her hand in my hair and my hand lay on her stomach. I can hear the rain patter on the window.
“What would Rachael say, if she saw us like this?” Quinn asked.
“I think she would want us to be happy no matter what.” I turned and lay on my back. Quinn rolls on top of me. She tangles her fingers in my hair and then she kisses me. I wrapped my arms around her waist. She was warm to the touch. Everything that was in my mind was gone, but Quinn clouds my mind right now. I wander what I do to her mind? Rain Part 2- Quinn's POV
Milo parked his deep blue mustang behind Tooley’s next to my black Camaro. He turned off the ignition and we sat there. It was still raining, more like pouring. “Thank you for taking me to my car.” I said to him.
“No, thank you for picking up last night and preventing me from killing myself. Thank you again.”
“Well, you’re welcome.” I said to him. There was an awkward silence and I was getting hot. The windows were getting fogged up and you could hear the sound of the rain pattering against the hood of the car. I looked at him and he looked at with those bright blue eyes of his. I grabbed his face and I kissed him on the lips. My heart sank and every time he kissed me back, it was breathtaking to me. “I need to go.” I said to him between each kiss.
“Yeah” he kissed my chin and then he kissed my lips again.
“I really need to go.” I smiled and kissed his cheek. He was kissing my neck and I was very ticklish there. It felt like he was nibbling my neck.
“Yeah, I know.” He said in between kisses. He stops kissing my neck and leans his forehead against mine. “Have lunch with me tomorrow?” He asked.
“Yeah sure, I’d love to.” I smiled. I opened the car door and got out. I closed it and went to my car. I pulled my keys out of my jacket pocket. I put the keys in the car and unlocked the door. I got in the car and closed the door. I put the key in the ignition and started the car. I saw Milo’s car leave before mine then I pulled the car out of park and drove off.
I met Quinn at the diner downtown. She was wearing a white, short sleeved shirt; dark blue jeans, and a black leather jacket. She sat across from me in the booth, eating a Caesar salad and drinking a soda. “Do you remember when we were like teenagers and I had a group of friends over at my house, you were there and we played spin the bottle in the basement?” I say to her. She looks up at me from her salad then looks down as she was smiling.
“Yeah, I remember. What about it?” She says.
“I Just remember that’s when you and me first kissed. You were thirteen and I was sixteen. That had to be the most nerve racking thing that ever happened to me. I never told Rachael that either.” I say to her looking down.
“Why didn’t you tell her?” She asked in wonder. I straightened myself up and looked back at her.
“Personally I just didn’t want to hurt her that way. God, when that bottle pointed at you I thought it was gonna be easy, but right before it happened I got nervous and shut down. I let it happen, I then realized I had feelings towards you. We’ve been friends since elementary and then when we were teenagers I got feelings for you.” I confessed to her. “I wrote this ten page love letter for you and I was gonna give it to you but I was to scared to so I didn’t.” She was still looking at me while she stuffed some salad in her mouth.
“You still have that letter?” I never thought she would ask me that.
“I really don’t know were it is. But if I find it I will definantly give it to you.” I laughed and she laughed with me.
We were at my house, chatting, sharing a beer together. “I’m gonna ask a very stupid question.”
“Go ahead.” I say tangling my fingers of my left hand int her hand.
“Do you remember my favorite color?” I wanted to laugh. “I know it’s a very stupid question. “
”Ummmm...... Do you remember my favorite color?”
“Blue” she answered instantly.
“Is yours......... pink?” I couldn’t remember.
“No....” She laughed “Gray, gray is my favorite color.”
“Why gray?”
“It’s not dark but it’s not light, it’s in between. What’s my favorite candy?”
“God I don’t know.” I was confused what she was trying to do.
“Alright, easy question. What is my favorite movie?”
“I know that answer, it is Ocean’s Eleven.” I said.
“Well you got one right. I just cant believe you don’t remember any of that. We’ve been friends for over ten years, and you don’t even remember my favorite color.” She was still smiling.
“I’m sorry?”
“It’s ok, I forgive you.” I paused and then I opened my mouth.
“Who has a favorite color gray?”
“Me obviously.” We sat there and then I got up. “What are you doing?” She asks me.
“Hold on.” I walked to the stereo and turned it on. I walk past Quinn and turned on the fireplace. I turned off the lights and grabbed Quinn’s hand. “Come on. “ I practically pulled her out of her seat. I dragged her to the middle of the living room were there was space.
“I hope your not making me dance.” She almost freaked out. I placed one of her hands on my shoulder and the other one was in my hand. My hand was wrapped behind her back. She pulls away. “No, no, no, I can’t dance.” she points out. I pulled her back in the position we were in
“Trust me, your not going anywhere.” She seemed less shaky than when we danced at the wedding. We swayed back and forth. She leans her head into my chest and we danced slowly. She wasn’t a klutz, she just felt uncomfortable dancing with me at the wedding. But she seemed more comfortable now. She had her feet on top of mine as we danced, swaying back and forth. The song we danced to was Say (All I Need) by OneRepublic. She looks up at me and I look at her, I drew closer to her and kissed her on the lips. “Your not that bad of a dancer.” I say to her in between kisses. She didn’t answer she just kept kissing me back. She makes me feel like I’m floating in the clouds.
She pulls away, looks up at me and smiles. I smiled back. “I better go.” She kisses me again for a long moment
