I raised my glass which was my fifth peg and said. “My dear buddies I have decided I am giving up alcohol this year.”

“No Yaar I am serious. I have decided I will ditch this golden beauty forever.” I said while balancing myself and trying to get up.

“You are drunk Rohit…. Stop your melodrama act and sit down.” Kaushik taunted.

“No Yaar I am fine, just listen to what I am saying. My Mom is coming next month and I have decided I will open about my relationship with Mom. I am getting married next year… had enough of this vagabond life now I want to become a family man. A decent job which I have now. I beautiful wife who will wait for me till I reach home in the night after office. I could hear Sanjeev was calling me from the other room.

I entered the room and saw Sanjeev was sitting alone. “Where is Kaushik?” I asked him.

“Girlfriend??” I enquired.

“Hey Kaushik where were you? Talking with GF?” I asked him while taking my peg.

“Ohhh no buddy… I have no time and money for all those stuff. Was talking to my Manager regarding some urgent report to be sent tomorrow.”

“Ohhh… I thought you were hiding something from us.” I said and smiled.

“I am not like you…. If there is something like that you will definitely come to know.” Prompt was his reply. I knew he was taunting on me, so I stopped the discussion there itself. I lighted one cigarette and continued enjoying my last peg for the day. We then continued chatting for a while till there was whiskey in my glass and then I left after my final drink.

I took a rickshaw for home and was there in my room in within minutes banged on my bed. The morning as usual after a heavy drink is never soothing I had a bad headache. I took medicine to relieve my pain and rested for a while till my headache was gone. Just it was half an hour I was relaxing i was disturbed by mobile ringtone I looked it was Mom’s call. She said she is coming to Kolkata by train next Sunday I should reach there in station well in advance. I was happy Mom was coming that also alone. So I would feel more at ease while opening about by relationship.

The same evening Sakshi reached Kolkata. She called me around 9 pm, I was about to leave for the day from office. I told her my Mom is coming next Sunday and this time I am going to talk about her and asked Sakshi to come home this Saturday I will discuss rest of the things there only.

As agreed she was there,I heard a knock on the door while I was half asleep. I knew it was her. So I always kept door open. It was chilled winter morning and don’t felt like getting out of the bed so I shouted from inside come in and close the door.

She entered with a bag in hands. I knew she will there for rest of the day and the bag contained her extra dress.

“When I was not here you were getting paranoid and now when I here in your house you don’t even feel like getting out of bed to receive me. Shall I leave if you want to sleep for extra few hours?” She said pulling my blanket.

“Ohhh Sakshi its pretty cold outside please don’t do this.” I said pulling the blanket back.

“I have come to see you so early in the morning; i didn’t even have my breakfast and you selfish man still lying on bed. Aren’t you ashamed of your act? Come on get up and prepare some breakfast for me.” She said and pulling the blanket again.

“Ohh forget about the breakfast come you also get in.” I said pulling her inside.

“Hey wait you will ruin my new dress.” She said and pushed me back.

She then went into the kitchen and changed her dress to track pant and neck pull over.

“You said you would be back in couple of weeks and it’s almost two months. Don’t you dare ever think of leaving me again like this? I have forgiven you this time. But next time I won’t be as nice as I am today. Because I am very happy that you are back and I have a new job. No more over stretching on Sundays. We will have weekends to spend together.” I said and embraced her back in my arms.

“Really?? See I was not there for few days and so many good things happened in your life. I told you before I am totally a jinx for you. If I will go out of your life permanently you would be happy forever.” She taunted me.
