Reflections on Death by T.A. Wyatt (thriller book recommendations .txt) 📕

I don’t know how long the flowers have been in my window. Long enough to be no more than dried out replicas of daisies and carnations surrounded by the stringy lifeless remains of what I can only assume had once been baby’s breath. That must be how I look. A shell of a man lying here wasting away. This bed my vase, my legs the stems. I have been left to my own devices, with nothing more than my will to stay alive. My life is worth the same as a vase of rotting plants. Now I wait to die.

They offer me a meal. Anything I want. Kinda funny to think your life isn’t even worth cash. Puts things into perspective. Hey buddy, what did you sell your soul for? A steak and an ice cream sundae? A hamburger and apple pie? Yeah, they think it’s a nice gesture, but really, the whole idea is just one more way to kick you while you’re down. Well I won’t buy into it. I won’t give them the satisfaction. Anyway how can you decide? Pork chops and a candy bar, gumbo and pudding. Doesn’t matter. Hey guard, bring me a plate…

It seemed like a good idea at the time. How many people have jumped out of planes without incident? But of course not me. Go for some adventure, get out and get some air. Well I did that. It’s not so bad. Once you get over the initial panic, falling through the air is quite relaxing. Plus flailing around and whining isn’t gonna help you. Might as well have some dignity. Guess I will make the news tonight. Too bad I won’t get to see it. The only question now is, land face down or flip on my back?
