Running, its all we do as humans. Fall in love. Run. Afraid of something. Run. Shit gets hard. Run. It's what we do, we seek things that make us feel something again and then we run from it. You convince yourself it's for the better that you will be better off in the end. You may be asking why, but i dont know the answer to that, only you have the power to answer that question. Afterall, it's your life your running away from.
My name is Charlene Jordan, and I'm a high school senior. Something more bizarre than usual happened to me one Halloween, and it changed everything. I even started writing down stuff and that's what this is. My bizarre experience that led to an even more insane life than I was already living.

Shasta Darby is in high school. She owns a car that has its own ideas about when and how to run, a single mom with a geeky boyfriend, and a somewhat crazy friend named Gina. Twenty-three days into her senior year, the bullies and nasties she'd been able to avoid until then suddenly decide she's worth their attention. This has a kind of domino effect, causing other people - and specifically a boy-people - to start noticing her as well.
